I have been training for a half which I just found out has been scheduled for a work day for me---argggh. It is in NYC Jan 25th.

Unfortunately NY road runners club doesn't put their 2009 sched up until Dec but the word on the street is that it will most likely be on that Sunday. Oh well. I have waited 38 years to do one. Waiting a few months more will have to be OK. So now... I will plan to participate in a NJ half marathon this may.

It is my plan to continue to run in training for the Jan half, in case I am wrong :)

Hello!

I have running race distances of 25-27kms so I guess they count as half marathons :)

The last one was a mountain running race up and around 3 peaks on 8 November. The equivilant flat road race distance is about 35kms or so. I never thought I'd like running up hills let alone ones so steep you almost crawl...but I guess I am a bigger glutton for punishment than I thought!

The one I am aiming for next is in on 21 December and is 25kms again another mountain run.

For "training" - loosely termed so since I don't really count it training when I just enjoy doing it!

- run 8-10kms most mornings before work

- have a long flat run on Saturday - last week was 16kms (10mile) this week will be about 22kms (15mile)

- Do one or two steep hill (uphill and downhill) sprint and endurance sessions a week

- and in the two weeks leading up to the race lighten off to shorter distances but keep the hill intervals

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 02:06 PM.
