hi Stacey and Latisia, You are right on Latisia she is going to regret he decision soon. Fitness is a life long commitment, just like watching what you eat they go hand in hand. Today was my lazy day and tomorrow it is back at it. Monday is running, and Tuesday is Tae Bo and weights. 1.5 pounds lost is impressive Latisia, keep up the good work. You know Stacey I'm not sure what keeps me motivated, but I keep at it. Lately my enthusiasm has been sliding, but eveyone is so positive, and doing such a great job it re inspires me. I think being able to talk to all of you helps a lot, as I don't get much support at home. I made a commitment to myself to follow thru with it this time, and it has made all the difference in the world. Just keep up the good work and keep us posted on your progress. Judy

Hi everyone, how are you doing on this Monday morning. Good job Latisia, working out does make you feel better. Today was my running day. Never take aspirin before a run, I did and almost lost my cookies. I won't do that again. Tomorrow is my Tae Bo and weights day. I just keep doing one workout at a time, it gets me thru. Hi Latisia and everyone, How are you doing today. The Tae Bo 2 was a little easier today. Billy Blanks is such a great motivator. Like Latisia I gotta do weights a little later. I think I'm getting a little stronger though. You guys are motivating me to keep at it, though I grumbled thru my walk this morning, poor Bob. But he was walking way too fast for me. I started doing Tae-Bo religiously January 01. I lost 34 lbs in just 3 short months! Then my husband and I seperated, and I lost my motivation. Now I have started doing it again -- but have moved up to the advanced (was doing basic), because I was getting so bored. I absolutely LOVE Tae-Bo, and love the way it has made me feel! Only problem, I am SOOO sore today! I worked out Monday, then walked Tuesday (2.5 miles), and today I am going to do Tae-Bo again . I'm hoping my leggs will cooperate!!! Hi! I picked up tae bo live at the library today and will be trying it tomorrow morning. My boys have gotten tired of doing tae bo junior with me. :shrug: They are ages 10 & 5. If the live version is too hard for me, I'll just have to keep on doing the junior by myself. :smug:

Hi everyone, Welcome aboard Mandy. Well the Tae Bo 2 is definately getting easier. Yesterday was Tae Bo day today was running. I feel myself coming down with a chest cold, so I probably going to take it easy the rest of the day today, I did do my 2 miles this morning though. I'm not sure of the rule on exercise when one is under the weather, so I did what I was comfortable with. I'm not surprised that your boys got bored with the Tae Bo, it was probably fun for awhile then lost it's appeal. You'll have to let us know how you are doing with the Tae Bo live. You must have a great library, we don't have anything like that in our video section. Keep up the good work everyone, and keep us posted on your progress. Judy

Thanks for the welcomes! The Advanced Tae-Bo that I am doing is just the "old" regular studio version (not live). It is really hard! But -- when we did it again on Wednesday, it was a lot better. I'm not hardly sore anymore. Tonight is our walking night (2.5 miles), and I am looking very forward to it!
Yes, the results I got from it (and doing Weight Watchers) came fast and I felt wonderful about myself. Then, all that happened, and I quit doing both things (eating right and tae-bo). Now being back on (almost a year later) -- I feel GREAT for doing it!!!! I'm hoping that I can tell a difference early again this time...and that the weight comes off just as easy (but it never does). Have a great weekend -- and I'll update more on Monday!!! |
i have the 2 basic tae bo 2 tapes. i dont really find them all that challenging. i just turned 16 but have been overweight and out of shape all my life. recently i have been working out regularly (weights, cardio, kick boxing) but i would like to start doing the tapes to get my heart rate up when i cant get to the gym. my problem is motavation. my dad kinda jokes around about my weight, and my mom kind of understands because she is also over weight but gives me little support, my sister is about 5'8" and weighs like 120. i feel stupid doing it in front of them, and i am a huge procrastinator so i can never seem to get motivated enough to actually get up and do it.

Hi Nikathalia,Welcome aboard. That's what we're doing here is to try and give positive support. I understand completely how you feel. My husband can't understand why a person should have to watch their weight, and the only activity that I do that he supports is the walking we do 6 mornings a week. So I do my Tae Bo 3 mornings a week, and my running on the alternate days I don't do Tae Bo,when he's at work. Maybe you should try and get a VCR in your room or something, or exercise when every one else is gone. It's discouraging to have a thin sister. I know all 4 of my daughters are thin. But I guess it's because they keep working at it, of course they've never been big eaters. Anyway you took the right first step, with your kick boxing and other things you do. Hang in there, and a window of opportunity may present itself to you, to do the exercise It's good you don't find the Tae Bo 2 challenging. I guess that proves you are in better shape then you thought. Please keep us posted on your progress, We know you can do this and are here for you. Judy

Hey everyone, Welcome Nikithalia! I know what you mean about not wanting to workout in front of others< I have the problem with my husband, gotta wait til he is gone. If you dont find the tae bo that you were using challenging, you might need a differnt one, or advanced. Well how much weight are you looking to lose?? i have a tv and vcr in my room, and if i cleaned up all the crap lying around im sure i would have enough room to do it. i have some extra time on my hands today because im the only one in my group of friends not to go to C's graduation/grad party. graduation ceremonys are boring and the party is in galveston...not the prettiest beach in the world. so i decided to skip the brown water and bordem. i already hit the gym today, i did weights and a cross training course on an elliptical thing. it was pretty good. i guess with the rest of my day i will catch up on homework and go ahead and clean my room. i would like to get the advanced tapes but i dont have a job so i dont really have the money to order them and with all my other workouts i really dont think i would use them enough to ask my parents to buy them for me. i am looking to loose like 35 lb, hopefully by the end of summer (which is right around the corner, only 2 weeks of school left :))but if it doesnt happen i will be ok i undersand you gotta give these things time. all of you keep up the great work, you willl be at your goals in no time. but i gotta go, bye.

Hi everyone, I hope you had a good weekend. I finally have my voice back anyway. I have quite a cold going. how is everything going Latisia? Even if you haven't lost any weight, you are doing wonderful things for your metabolism. I admire you Nikki for standing up for yourself and not going to the beach if you didn't want to. Alot of times young people cave in to pressure. It sounds like you are doing alot of things to increase your physical fitness, and that's what weight management is all about. Hey i meant to post my weight loss sorry, my hubby came back , and had alot of things to take care of/issues, but I am op, and feel good physically, Well on Sat , I had lost 2.5 pounds, and I say hurray !! I am grinning, plus i had eaten a very greasy eggrol,thought id try a lil treat but it wasnt so!! Well everyone, hope you all are going well, I do agree that you are doing well,nicky, and so are you Judy!! Sounds great, everyone just try to keep your goals in mind and stay motivated. Got the 8 min tae bo 2 tape gonna give it a try well ttyl!

hi guys!! man i am sore, yesterday me and my 2 friends went to the park to shoot some hoops and we ended up doing a ton of basketball drills lotsa sprinting and shuffling. then we jogged home. i was supposed to hit the gym today but its already 815, and i gotta do a geometry project. so i think i will just do a tae bo vid or go rollerblading or something. i'll do something. my friend julie and i are also taking up running. we start tommorrow...we are starting pretty small though. im excited. but i gotta go. later

Good for you too Latisia, adding weights is a good way to resculpture your body. today was supposed to be a Tae Bo day, but I ended up only walking for 35 minutes and lifting weights. Hi Everyone! Boy was I happy to log into this board and see an active Tae Bo thread going.
I used to do Tae Bo religiously....lost 40 lbs in three months! I felt wonderful. And then I stopped. I'm sure you've heard that story before! I'm thinking of starting back up again at the Basic level (because that alone will kick me in the fanny!), but have no motivation to do so! I have been walking 3-4 times a week, about 2 miles a day, just to get a start on exercising again. But I really need to start doing Tae Bo again. I have the first set and the Live set, as well as one or two of the monthly sets they sent out. I have enough that I won't get bored. I got to say too, that Billy is a wonderful person. I was able to speak to him LIVE on the phone one day and he is awesome. Anyway, a little about me. I'm almost 32 years old, mom of two great kids and wife to my bestest friend in the whole world (and thankfully he is VERY supportive in anything I chose to do). I'm a SAHM with a pet-sitting business and soon to be starting a karaoke business with a friend. We have quite a zoo of critters (hence the name zookeeper), with includes everything from birds to horses. My first weight loss goal is to lose about 18 lbs. Then another 15-20 after that. My eye-opener was today when I found my cholesterol went up 10 points in the last six months to 204, despite my walking, drinking water and eating healthier. I have PCOD and hypothyroidism, which makes losing weight a challenge but not an imposibility! Anyway, I hope you don't mind me jumping in here. I'm just looking for something to get me motivated! |
thanks guys!! my run was pretty good. my neighborhood is like a big square and it measures out to 1/2 a mile so we alternated running and walking every street for a mile. i did kick boxing today. i had a different teacher cuz i went at 430 instead of 630 and i didnt like her as much...the other one gives a much better workout. i need to start eating healthier too, my mom works at Albertsons and they are going out of business in texas so everything in the store is 1/2 off and my mom keeps bringing home all this junk food. i did resist and eat a salad and a baked potato for dinner though.

Hi everyone, Today turned out to be a beautiful day. I got up and did my usual 35 min walk with Bob, and decided to keep to my schedule even tho I didn't do Tae Bo yesterday I ran my 2 miles today anyway. Tomorrow is my Tae Bo day. I had all 6 of my grandchildren today. So the house was full. everyone went home about an hour ago. Good for you Nikki, you made a good choice when you chose baked potato and salad instead of goodies. I don't know if I would have had the strength to resist, but you did. I like certain exercise instructors better then others also, so I understand where you are coming from. You just wait and see you are really going to drop that weight. Welcome zookeeper, we are glad that you joined us. We try and give positive support so that we can share in your triumph when you reach your goals. You actually spoke to Billy Blanks, that's great. He seems like a nice person. How you doing Latisia, congratulations on your weight loss. Everyone keep up the good work, we can accompish anything we set our minds to. hey guys!! i managed to get a work out in yesterday. with school ending (only 4 more days of finals...we get out at 12:30) there are parties like everyday. yesterday there were like 4 that i was supposed to make an appearance at but i only went to one. i will try to get another work out in tonight...but my friend is turing 17 in like a week and me her boyfriend and her best friend are planning this huge party at this lake house and we are supposed to go get some stuff for it today. will see what i can do though. anyways...how are all of you doing? i think if we just keep up with what we are doing we will all reach our goals. i havent stepped on a scale yet but everyone keeps telling me that i look like ive lost a lot of weight. that has to say something!!! anyways im going shopping now bye!!!! hope all of you had a wonderful weekend! Hi Nikki and Latisia, Wow can you believe we are in a new week. Great job both of you. Have fun at your summer vacation bash Nikki. Parties are always fun. I told you, that you would start making notable progress by just getting out and exercising Nikki, and see I was right. It is always exciting when someone notices. I got up this morning and went for my 35 minute walk, and ran my 2 miles. I had to drag my grandchildren with me as I did some banking and went and looked at some new bedroom furniture. They were of course hyper, so I took them to McDonalds for lunch. I stopped by the drive thru at TacoTime, and got a SouthWest Veggie wrap. I asked them to leave off the chicken, which they did no problem. Tomorrow is my Tae Bo day, so at least I'm starting off my week good. Have a great week eveyone, talk to you soon, Judy

Hi everyone ,Today has been a little different, only had my 2 year old GS today, and he was a sick baby. I did get my walk in this morning and my Tae Bo in when the little one was napping. He was spiking quite a fever, so kept giving him baby motrin. Isn't it something when they have to throw up, it is usually on the couch, or carpet. Anyway he was one sick kid today. Spent most of my day in a rockng chair cuddling with him. It was a good thing the rest of the gang wasn't here today. Oh well tomorrow is another day. When are you supposed to have your celebration that school is out for the summer Nikki? I think you are going to have a really good time. How are you doing zookeeper, I also love animals and have been known to rescue abandoned animals and find homes for them. How is it going Latisia. well tomorrow is the last day of school! there is no one party for schools out. i have been invited to at least 2 parties a week for the rest of summer and about 8 for this weekend alone. so many decisons. i didnt get to go to kickboxing today. my grandma is comming in town in a few days for my sisters graduation. so basically i had to clean and i have to finish up an english project for tomorrow. oh well. yesterday i went to the gym and did some upperbody stuff. i didnt get to do cardio because jackie had to be some where at 7 so we only got to work out for like an hour and usually we are there for just about 2 hours. well i have to get back to work. bye all..keep everything going!!! hello everyone, I was so sore from all the weight i used last week plus this tape it tried called tai fit, anyone tried it?? it is fast, and pretty tough, i will add it to my tae bo i guess, Well i had a massage that was the best, !! I never had a prof, one ,and plan to have more!! Well Nikki, i know ur glad for the summer!! Keep up the excellent work ur doing great!! As well, the massage was the best, drinking much more water now too, I realized i was shorting myelf, and might have been retaining a little fluid from that,ANyhow hope everyone is having a great weekend, stay op!! we can do this:)

well i didnt get much in this weekend. my grandma was here so i ended up in the san antionio/new braunfuls area it was pretty fun, i got a ton of stuff. it would have been better if my friend went but whattya gonna do. anyways i got new running shoes because my old ones were all torn up and i cant wait to try them out, i have flat feet so a lot of running shoes hurt my feet, but nike started making different shoes for different feet, so i got ones that are supposed to make it not so hard on flat feet. it sounds like all of you are doing excellent with your tae bo and such. KEEP IT UP!!! hopefully i get to go to the gym today. is it tuesday or wednesday??? its wednesday, kick boxing day. ok i have to go. bye guys!!!! (-nikki-)

Hi everyone,Well this has been quite a week I ended up taking last weekend off because of my knees. But have returned to my regular workout schedule. hope yo are havin a nice visit with your grandma Nikki. I know you are going to make good use of those shoes you bought. How is it going Latisia. Well I did a really dumb thing this last weekend,I decided to go low carb. My energy and stamina went south. I haven't ate meat in almost 20 years, and I ended up losing everything I ate. I am still recovering from it. Well live and learn they always say. Well I have sick grandchldren this week, so that will test my patience and everything. You guys have a good week, Judy

well yesterday i got to go running and did some weight work. today i did a taebo video. my eating was terrible today, i feel sick from all the crap i ate. but i am not mad at myself, i will just do better tommorrow. yall have a good night!!

I started doing the Tae bo videos last year and I found them really good. They got me moving and stretching muscles that hadn't been moved for ages. I also started doing the tae bo equivalent classes at the gym (Body Combat at my gym) - they're a little more intensive than the videos but the videos were an excellent warmup and definetely a prerequisite.:dizzy:
