GOOD MORNING CHICKIES!!

It is a beautiful day here and I am OP and I walked 4.5 miles yesterday and I have already walked 3 miles today. I weigh in tonight at WW and I am keeping my fingers ( and everything else) crossed that I have lost something. After Sunday I will be pleased if I even stay the same:o

T-girl - good for you staying OP as you will feel so much better for it especially when you have other things on your mind. Eating is one thing that you can be totally in control of. You have done so well in losing 3 POUNDS so you don't want to undo all that good work. The last thing you want is to be feeling more miserable because of your eating. Everything always seems worse at night anyway!!

Taz - So you think you can come over here and kick some butt too???!!!
You are quite right - you can because we need someone like you to do it!! So feel free!
Thanks for the info on PMS.

Patty - so good to hear from you;) How is your IBS? I think it was T-girl who said that she used to have IBS but when she cut out all the fatty foods it stopped. Am I right in saying that T-girl?

Lauri - Everytime I think of you I see you running!! YGG

:dizzy:

Semo - did that kick up the butt from Taz have any effect on you?

To everyone else - hope you are OP

Have a good day all

Take Care

Anne

Good morning ladies!!! May I just take this moment to say "i love everyone on this message board right now" :D :D :D :D
I start every single day by reading what people have written and somedays I am sooooo inspired by all of you...
Last night I did my training run/walk. And man, was it windy!!!
On the back stretch of the track the wind was full frontal, I felt like I was on a treadmill and not moving forward! LOL!!!

Mooz, good luck at WW!!! Keep us posted! I have my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed for luck!!!

Gotta go wake up my teenager for school. Honest to PETE, the house could blow up around that child and he would be snoring in the middle of it!!
See y'all later!!!
luv

SEMO 04-23-2002 09:11 AM

Good Morning Ladies! Yesterday did well on the eating but no exercise. I haven't gotten in the swing of all these hours working yet. It usually takes a couple of weeks but I feel my brain is FRIED right now. You know I'm sort of waiting for my second wind to arrive.:dizzy:

Taz, I have printed the quote "Don't Look Back, You're Not Headed That Way" and taped it to the back of my desk. I love it.

Mooz, good luck tonight, I know all that walking will show up.

Patty, Hope your feeling well, we've got to get busy and show these gals that we can do it.

Lauri, may the wind always be at your back. I so admire you.

T-Girl, You go Girl, your doing fantastic!! (Send some of what you have my way)

Jen, We are starting to worry.....Get yourself on back here!

You all have a great day and now I must return to this mound of paperwork.

Tazmani77 04-23-2002 03:36 PM

Howdy Ladies!! I do hope this is a good OP day for everyone. I got 9 miles in today by accident but I did it!! now I'll have to increase my walking time for sure since I know I can do it. :dizzy:

Mooz: I go everywhere and kick butt. Thanks for the invite. you guys are great. We are so large over at 40 something that a lot can get missed sometimes but you guys are small and can really crank it up in here and do some serious weight loss work. I like that. If I need my butt kicked I'm coming in here and get my due too. Thanks for making me feel so at home.

SEMO: here is a site that has loads of those inspirational sayings on it. I know they make my road and weight loss journey a lot easier.

http://greatday.com/motivate/previous.html

Enjoy!! :)

To everyone else, have a good OP day and as always make the most of it! :D

GOOD EVENING CHICKS!!

Just called in to say that I lost A BIG HALF POUND at WW tonight and I have just come in from a 3 mile walk.

Taz - 9 miles - WOW!! that is fantastic and I thought 6 was good!!
Don't you worry - when you need some butt kicking there will be a queue of chicks waiting to do it!!

Semo - It must be difficult to get time to exercise when you are working such long hours - I'm sure you just want to put your feet up but don't keep them up too long!!

Lauri - I do the same as you - I love getting the computer on in the morning to read all the posts that have been put on while I have been getting my beauty sleep;) It sets me up for the day.

To everyone else hope all is well and you are keeping OP

Take care all

Anne

Finding the way
Things which now come easily and naturally to you, at one time seemed difficult and even impossible. You found a way around those obstacles which once were so daunting. You found a way because you had enough desire to find it. You found a way because you had the commitment to find it and to make it work.
When you need to, or want to, or must, you can find a way to move past whatever is blocking your path, toward whatever you desire. The difficulty of the challenge is not nearly as important as the strength of your commitment.

What do you sincerely intend to do, and what do you truly expect to do? These are the things that will get done, because you will find a way. The efforts probably won't be comfortable, convenient or easy, but then nothing of value ever is. That's why commitment is so crucial, because it will get you through what you must get through.

You're going to get knocked down. With enough commitment you'll get back up. You're going to become sidetracked and blown off course. With enough commitment you'll quickly get back on track.

Your previous priorities and commitments have brought you to where you are right now. Commit to the best, the brightest, the most positive future you can sincerely imagine. Make the commitment, and you'll find the way.

Good Evening Ladies

Gee, it's been a busy two days for me. Unfortunately my day has been busy with meetings & lunch meetings, & I did not make wise choices. Both nights I've stayed late at work, & by the time I got home, I really didn't feel like exercising. I did take the dog for a 1/2 mile walk. My busy time for work is about to end, and i'm going to start spending more time on me.

Mooz - WAY TO GO ON THE 1/2 pound loss. ANY loss is a good loss. Keep up your walking, you'll soon see the weight loss. Right now just enjoy the benefits of feeling healthier.

TAZ - 9 miles...YOU GO GIRL

Lauri - Keep the training going, your so focused on the training that you won't notice the weight falling off...

Semo - I can definitely relate to the work load. I'm so glad mine busy time is about to end. Just hang in there... and try and take as many small walks at work that you can.

We'll i'm off to bed. talk to you tomorrow...

good morning babes!!! How are you all today?? I did my run this morning at 6:30 because I have to work late tonight. It was colder than I thought too. (I mean "see your breath" cold, not just chilly LOL) Should have worn my long johns.

SEMO, thanks for the kind words, I don't think I've ever been admired before ;)

Have any of you heard out of Jen?? I say we storm her house and make sure she's ok. :( I am kind of worried about her. The having hubby gone thing can get old after a few weeks, especially with little ones.
Gotta pack my lunch. I had strawberries for breakfast with a little fat free cool whip on top. yummy!!!! (frankly, I had cool whip with a couple of strawberries :D ) Have to forage the fridge for lunch and see what's shakin in there!

mooz: weigh to go on the loss!!!! woooohooooo!!!!

GOOD EVENING CHICKS!!
I have just come in from linedancing and I should be in bed getting my beauty sleep!! I only walked 1 mile today as I spent the morning shopping with a friend.

Lauri - I am concerned about Jen too but what can we do? Is there any way to get in contact with her? I don't think she is posting on any other thread but I will check after I post this. (Jen's last post was on 13 April and it was on this thread)

Billiesrosie - glad you didn't desert us and good for you getting out on your bike regardless of the weather.

To everyone else - hope all is well.

Good Evening Ladies
Another busy day for me, and today was "Professional Assistance Day" so we took our assistance out for lunch, I did skip the dessert.. After work I went to the mall, got depressed looking at clothes, my normal routine is get depressed, stop & buy a cookie or two, but this time, I even passed on that. I came home and walked the dog, 1 mile tonight. Storms are coming so I headed back in. I wish our community center offered line dancing at night, that is something I would love to do. They offer it but it's during the day.

Mooz - Let us know what you find out about Jen.

Lauri - Way to Go on staying with your running plan. I know me, if it's that cold, I would of stayed in bedYOU GO GIRL

Billiesrosie - 2 lb loss - WAY TO GO

T-girl & Semo - hope you all are having a great day...

talk to you all tomorrow

mooz49 04-25-2002 05:03 AM

GOOD MORNING CHICKIES.

I hate to admit it but I succumbed to some chocolate last night after linedancing but today I am back on track and raring to go!! I am going to get out my WW books and use some of the great meal ideas to try and get a bit more variety.

I haven't found out much about Jen except that the last time she posted was on 13 April and it was on this thread. Maybe she doesn't even come to this site anymore!
According to her profile she has a
Yahoo Instant Messenger Handle - dontaskme_y
and an
ICQ No - 62936233
I have sent a message to the ICQ no and one to the Yahoo Messenger and sent an e-mail to [email protected].(hoping that that was her e-mail address but it came back as unknown?)
I don't know if there is anyway you can get someones e-mail address fron this site??!!
I know Jen was having some problems getting to grips with eating the right amount of food - she was either eating too much or eating too little!! Does that ring a bell!! We have all been there to some extent!!
It would be great to hear from her again.

Patty - I know that feeling so much - trying on clothes and getting depressed and I have been doing that for years and it is so silly because we just need to get into a better WAY OF LIFE EATING PLAN that is suitable for us, and one that does not leave us feeling deprived but full of energy!!

Lauri - running at 6.30AM!!! WOW YOU ARE SOME PUP!! I can just picture you!! YGG

To everyone else - hope you are OP and feeling GRRRRRRRRREAT!!!

THA BEAUTY OF A WOMAN

The beauty of a woman
Is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
Or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman
Must be seen from her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman
Is not a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman
Is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring she lovingly gives,
The Passion that she shows.
The beauty of a woman with passing years --
only grows and grows.

Good Morning Ladies! Yesterday was terrible here, we had tornados all around us. One flatten a subdivision of 30 houses in a town about 45 min west of us, cars overturned on the highways. Thankfully no deaths but several injuries. Warnings were issued most of the day from noon until 9 pm with many funnels spotted and a few touch downs. So scary, we don't even have sirens here to give any warnings. So most of my day was spent looking out at the sky, the older I get the more frighten I get of storms.

Ate terrible yesterday too, nerves I guess. But atlas today is a new day and a new beginning.:)

Need to run but wanted to check in. Have an on program day!

1day@atime 04-25-2002 02:02 PM

Good Afternoon Ladies

Semo - I can relate, we had storms & tornadoes here two weeks ago. It can be very nerve wrecking. Luckily we do have the sirens and the tv is wonderful... They can tell you what areas the storms are headed and even what time. This is our tornado season, so I just keep a blanket, flashlight, bottlewater & a pair of ole tennis shoes in the spare bathroom. Just in case I have to get up in the middle of the night. I don't know if your town has the radio scanners. A friend of mine has one & she listens to those storm chasers. I know she got her at Radio Shack.. I'm glad to hear your safe though.

Mooz - Hopefully we'll hear from Jen... Sometimes are lives do get so busy..& with a small child & being byherself, missing her husband, that can be overhelming.

T-girl - good to hear from you... Sounds like you have got it under control. Stay focused.. you can do it..

Lauri - Hope your having a great day...

We'll ladies I know you have heard this before, but I have rejoined WW for the last time. This time I only gained 1.4 lbs since the last visit. This is it for me. I am going to make this work. I'm ready...

1day@atime 04-25-2002 10:53 PM

Good evening Ladies

Today was a good day for me... I drank my H20, stayed OP & walked 2 miles.

GOOD MORNING CHICKIES!!
I need inspiration today as I did not do too good on the eating front yesterday as I made unhealthy choices. AS for exercise I think it is a WOL for me now as I do some everyday.

Patty - just reading your post has already inspired me some so thank you for that;) I know I should be treating my body better and it doesn't feel good when it gets the wrong food.

Semo - your tornados sound so frightening and I can understand how your eating gets out of control under those circumstances but we all know that you will feel better if you are in control of at least your eating!! Take Care.

T-girl - you are doing so well to stay in control so you keep up the good work as it will be well worth it in the end.

To everyone else - have a good OP day and take care.

HELLO AGAIN CHICKIES!!
Sorry I was on such a downer and BLUE when I reported back to you earlier but I am in the PINK now and feeling motivated after visiting you so I wanted to add something inspirational to maybe help you in return.

IN FOCUS

Imagine taking your knowledge, your experience, your attention, your skills, your energy and your passion and pointing them all in the same direction toward a common objective. That's what it means to be focused.
Without such focus, you end up working against yourself, and the things you desire seem hopelessly out of reach. Yet when you put the power of focus to work, anything is possible.

You already have everything you need to be highly focused. In fact, focus is nothing more than taking all the energy you have and pointing it in the same direction.

There are no magic tricks, no secret incantations necessary. The way to conjure up focus is to identify your most positive, authentic goals and desires. The more truly you desire it, the more of yourself you'll put into it. And the more of yourself you put into it, the more focused you will be.

Envision your dreams, focus yourself on their fulfillment, and see how truly effective you can be.

Good Morning and TGIF, (and I think it's Friday for me too) it's pretty wet so I don't think I'll be working this weekend. Yea!! I feel great today and sounds as if every one else is too! ;) I have to go to the caters tomorrow and check everything for the rehersal dinner. Mostly to see what type of decorations/flowers are needed. The wedding is getting close - May 25th.

T-girl, I just noticed on your location that you are soon moving to Virginia? Beening transfered? I hated living away from home when I was younger but think that it would be exciting now. You just need to remember this is an adventure.

Boss is in my office checking invoices, so guess I better get off here before he figures out what I'm doing.

Have a great weekend.

Just a quick call as I do not have a lot of time on a Saturday morning - lots of washing to do for my two 'kids' home from University for the weekend. I think they just come home to get rested, fed and clothes washed and off they go again for another hard week of studying!!(and if you believe that you'll believe anything!!)
I am eating OP and walked 4 miles yesterday. I really need to up my H20 as it helps to ward off hunger.

Gotta go now so take care all.

TRYING TOO HARD

When you visualize yourself as trying to do something, you're going to see it as a struggle. Yet when you visualize yourself as actually doing it, naturally and easily, beyond the trying, you'll have the genuine confidence to get it done.
Stop trying so hard and simply start to get it done. Stop striving and struggling against your own negative assumptions and start following your positive possibilities.

Remove the word "trying" from your vocabulary, and notice how much that one simple change can clarify your activities. Rather than saying or thinking, "I'm trying to get this work done" see what happens when you say "I'm confidently getting this work completed."

It makes a huge difference in your perspective. It helps you to see each action not as a desperate attempt, but rather as confident step forward.

When you're only trying, you're taking action without being fully committed to that action. When you decide to step up and actually do it, then you're committing yourself to taking whatever action is necessary.

Go beyond merely trying -- get up and get busy doing.

-- Ralph Marston

Hi ladies!!! I'm here!! Man, have I been busy!! We moved our practice from a single building to the 5th floor of the hospital on Thursday and Friday. We were closed for patients, but the phones and computers were up and running by 11:00 on Thursday. I got to wear blue jeans both days, which ALWAYS makes it easier to go in to the office LOL! I am going in for awhile today to help with last minute stuff like hanging pics and things like that.
We actually had about 6 pts walk in (which ticks me off anyway, I mean, do we look like the free clinic?) wanting to see a doc and I finally hung a sign on the door that said we were closed so GO AWAY. ;) I swear, sometimes people just wear me out! Is it me or do people have more nerve now than ever? Anyway, enough complaining. I will see you all later. I think I have PMS LOL!!!
Trying to stay OP under stress is not easy LOL!! Will go run this off later today, inside. It's not very warm outside.
sees ya later!

good morning ladies! Today is my first day at our new office. I have a feeling it will be a zoo. We are doing alot of things different. I'm usually pretty easy, but some of those I work with are not. I can see the twitching eyelids even as i type this...
(I wonder how many calories that burns? )
Anywho, I went to the gym on Saturday AND Sunday. It wasn't too cold out, but the wind was just unreal. I don't know if you all know but I live in one of the windiest areas of the US of A. It's hard for me to run in, when the wind is blowing 35 mph. It takes my breath away, literally. Once I reach my mileage, I can give it a shot...
I hope everyone is well, and had a good weekend. TTYL

Hi girls. This is the first time I've visited the boards in weeks. I am SO touched that you guys were worried about me. So much has been happening.

If you recall, I had been trying to lose weight before I went and saw my DH. Well, now that is only a week away. I'm still down 5 pounds since he left, but I had been down 13. Here's what happened... I did it all. I journaled, I drank the water, I exercised, I stayed between 1400-1600 calories a day. I checked over my journal entries just to make sure that I was honest to god on track, and not fooling myself. I was doing everything just as I was supposed to. So then I stopped losing. I didn't give up. I figured it was water weight or something. Then, the next week I gained a pound. I didn't give up. I figured I must be building muscle and losing inches. Then the next week I gained 2 pounds. At this point I was furious. I measured myself, and the only place I lost an inch was in my chest. I figured if I was gonna gain weight, than I was going to eat what I wanted to eat. I haven't gone back to my old ways of eating, but I'm not OP either.
I guess I'm sick of my weight ruling my life. I'm constantly obsessed by it, whether it be how much I'm gaining, or how much I'm losing. I'm a size 16/18. That's what I am. There's nothing wrong with that, though the fashion world would have me think otherwise. If they don't like it, they can cram it.
Not to mention, I've just had so many other things happening in my life right now that I don't have the time to obsess about myself anymore. I'm one exhausted mama.
I'm flying out in 1 week to see my DH....FINALLY!! I'm dissapointed that I won't look better, but quite frankly, after 10 weeks of not gettin' any I'd look good to him if I showed up in a bathrobe and curlers.
Thanks so much to all of you for caring. I hope you're all doing well. I probably won't be back in here at least until I get back from the trip.

Talk at ya later,
Jen

Good Afternoon Ladies

It's a beautiful day here in BIG D. It's suppose to get to 90 today... The weather has been playing havoc on my allergies. One day it's 60 the next it's 80. I stayed in pretty much this weekend, due to sneezing, running eyes etc. But today i'm feeling somewhat better. I did really good on my food this weekend. I still need to work on drinking the H2O.

Jen - It's good to hear from you. I'm sure you hubby is looking forward to seeing you too. Stay in touch, I know things gets hetic, just remember we're here for ya.

Mooz - Can i bring my dirty clothes to you. I still go to my mom's house for some good home cooking. Luckily she only 20 minutes away from me. Way to GO on your walking. I'm trying to pick up my pace. I"m only doing about 2 miles a day.

Lauri - Way to go on going to the gym. I still have some of my personal belongings in boxes from my last move. It's been close to 2 years. (Do you think I still need them if there still boxed up?) I"m a pack rat:lol: How about them MAVERICKS...

T-girl - WAY TO GO ON YOUR 3.5 lb weight loss:)

Semo, Billierose - hope you all are having a geat day.

T-girl - you sound as if you are really enjoying life at the minute - good for you.

Jen - it is so nice to hear from you again. You enjoy your time with your hubby and I know you will just be gorgeous for him;) Beauty comes from within and you are a beautiful chick!!

ENJOY BEING YOU

Rather than chasing after what you don't have, use your energy to more fully express what you do have. Instead of striving to be someone you are not, instead of conforming yourself to the world's idea of success, create and live your own definition of success. Be who you are. That's where your most valuable treasure is.
Set free that beautiful, worthy person inside of you. Free yourself from worrying about what others might think, or say, or do. Instead, focus on being the best, most authentic manifestation of you that you can possibly be.

You are complete and whole right now. There is no need to prove anything to anyone. There is no need to wait for happiness or fulfillment. They are yours when you decide to live them. This is your moment in which to live with all the richness you can imagine.

Enjoy being you, right now. There is so much you have to contribute, just by living the one-of-a-kind life that is your destiny. It's more than OK to be you. It's the very best and most genuinely fulfilling thing you can do. Enjoy giving your own special gifts to life, and lift yourself up along with the world around you.

Just a very quick check in, I hardly have time to go to the bathroom these days, but I'm still drinking water.:D At least when I do get to the bathroom I don't have to answer the phone.

All is going well, I ended up working most of the day Saturday and then went to look at the banquet room for the rehersal dinner. Pretty ugly. I'm trying to come up with something that's not too expensive for table decorations. There are eight- 8 foot tables. Any suggestions. My friend that went with me suggested plastic champane glasses filled with colored water then floating candles. I bought those and some silver confetti and ice cycles to sprinkle on the tables plus silver ribbon to tie the glasses with. But still think that I need something more.

Well back to work for me, chat later.

Good Evening Ladies

Gee, I went to the doctor's yesteday & I have a sinsus infection. I got some meds & stayed home today so I could sleep. I'm feeling much better now. Boy, I turned 40 last November & I feel like i'm falling apart. I didn't exercise today or yesterday, but I did walk the dog 1 mile.

Semo - I'm not a very creative person, but I went to a wedding a while back & on the tables, they had the glasses with floating candles & then had rose petals on the table. It was pretty.

Mooz - Shame on you for not going to WW. Your suppose to go whether you lose or not. Plus you still have to pay dont you? We do here, we have to pay for miss weeks.

T-girl - I'm with you, if i have it in the house, I just can't seem to eat sweets or goodies in moderation.

Talk to you all tomorrow..

Good morning all. Thanks Mooz for the web sites, I'll try to check them out later today or tonight.
Doing better on eating, yesterday I was so hungry didn't think I was gonna make it home. Then I ate a bowl the size of a small dishpan full of salad.:D
Patty, if you think you're falling apart at forty, wait until you hit the 50's.....it's a down hill slide alright.. everything slides down, boobs, butt, face, etc, but that's why we have to exercise.
 we don't want everything to hit the floor!
Jen, Hope you're having a wonderful time with your hubby.
Lauri, are you getting all situated in the new office. How's the running? How many minutes running and walking?
T-girl, smart move on chunking the temptation. I'm the same way, if I have something in the house that I shouldn't eat it just calls my name until I get rid of it. Sad to say but it's usually by eating it.
Got to run, have a great day.

Good Afternoon Ladies

Today i'm feeling much better... the meds are kicking in...
I'm having to drink lots of water though. I'm OP & feeling good..
Tonight I plan on either walking on the treadmill or pulling out the ol tae-bo.

Semo - Can you bring some type of snack to the office, that way your not starving on your way home. I have some small applesauce in 1/2 cup servings that I keep up here at the office. Sometimes I have one right before I leave the office, that way I'm not tempted to stop & buy something.

Mooz - How are you doing? Did you take your walk today?

Lauri - Hope the new office is getting settled. How is the running going?

Jen - Hope your doing ok?

T-girl - How are you doing? I think I might join ya & do my tae-bo tonight..

we'll need to run...
talk to you all later...

t-girl 05-01-2002 03:34 PM

Hey Mooz, I was thinking that too, I said well it was low fat, just couldn't keep it out of my reach!! Hey Patty, I hope you pulled out the tae bo!! You wont regret it !! I did it last night, and I feel great!! I walked this morning, and it was kinda windy, helped even out the heat, loved it.. How is everybody.. OP today, well actually had lots of fluids, and fruit.. just for today.. Well talk to you all later!!

Latisia:)

GOOD EVENING CHICKS!!

Just a quick call before I go to linedancing.
I walked 4 miles today and my eating was good apart from some Quality Street that my mum had in her swettie box!! I ate about 10 of them:o

Patty - glad to hear you are feeling better.
Our WW leader doesn't make us pay for a missed week as long as we phone her before the meeting and tell her or leave a message saying so. She probably wouldn't like us to do it too often though.

Semo - Are you drinking your water? Sometimes we think we are hungry but we are actually thirsty!!

Lauri, T-girl, Jen and Billiesrosie - hope all is well with you.

Take Care All

Anne
