I'm soliciting advice re: my exercise program
I'm trying to get myself into the groove of working out. I feel great when I do it, it's just a matter of doing it.
I saw something on the news w/ people pledging to do atleast half an hour of activity ( or more) a day. While some may say that half hr isn't enough, it's better than none. Anyway, I decided to 'schedule' my work outs, even though I do it at home, that way there's time set aside. Mon: Walk ( approx 4 mph for 45 min or more ) Tue: Lift weights, concentrating on arms/upper body Wed: Work out dvd,it's higher impact, has some slight weights involved as well. 35 min. Thur: walk half hour at lunch. I"m gone from 5:45 a.m to 8:00 p.m. Fri: Weights, concentrating on lower body/legs Sat: walk, or do the boxing and tennis games on the Wii Sun: Dvd I'm trying to have some variety, but yet have it planned. This is the first time I've really planned this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx, |
Sounds great! As you get more in shape, you can add duration/speed and lift heavier weights a bit more often.
If you have time on the weight lifting days, you might add some cardio. Cardio is great to do every day, if you choose. |
