May Starters for C25K

I was gonna start the C25K back in March but wasn't following the plan. Then I was gonna start in April and again was doing my own thing. I haven't progressed as much as I would like to doing it on my own so I guess it is time to buckle down and use the program like I should. Third time should be the charm. Who wants to join me?

I'll be with you.

I was going to start back in March, but my thyroid went all crazy again. It took until about a week ago to get me to a dose where I actually feel like a human being.

I actually tried starting on Tuesday. I only managed every other running interval, but I think if I move to the indoor track this afternoon it'll be a little better. They're in the middle of renovating the park so it switches from blacktop to gravel to packed dirt.

So I'm with you!

I'm hoping to come back down to the lower 48 from Alaska in September as a running/biking fiend.

I'm a moron. :dizzy: :crazy:I started this post this morning but a few short hours later I had forgotten it already. I planned on starting today but didn't remember until I was 45 minutes into my SS on the treadmill. I did run two short intervals and am hoping the kids cooperate enough that maybe I can get back on later.:crossed:

Good luck to everyone! I'm starting Week 6 tomorrow. I can't believe I made it to Week 6!:carrot:

Hello! I'm so glad to see some of you just starting C25K! It's a great program.
Tonight I am going to finish Week 8! I have NEVER been a runner, and never run this far in my life. But I am doing it! And you can do it too. Just don't give up!

Good luck and happy trails to the starters! :carrot:

Finished W8D2 tonight - wow, had to break through a few mental blocks there to get myself going, but it was so worth it. By lap two I wasn't cold anymore, after another two my knees weren't aching, and even my day-long headache gave up nagging me towards the end. Running, the miracle cure? :p

Yay starters!!! Woohoo! Man is blue team well represented or what?

Hope y'all don't mind if we old timers shlep in here to continue our training. :D I did W7D1 today. It wasn't my favorite run ever :( but it didn't suck. The podcast BPM was a lot faster this week, so as a result I rounded my half-way mark a good 2-3 minutes before the halfway cue came. Too fast for me right now, but I did it! Woot!

Happy training everyone!

Hey all can I join you? I just started week 2 Day 1 this morning, but I have to tell you I am doing this on my elliptical, since my Doctors have banned me from real impact running. Since I am doing it differently, I will understand if you want me to bow out.

THANKS!
Kelly

I just started the other day, so today is Week 1, Day 2 for me.

Jade280 05-02-2008 07:34 PM

I will be repeating week 1 next week. I can almost get through the whole thing, but I skipped 2 of the running intervals. So hopefully after this week I will be able to move on to week 2. I gotta push if I'm going to run a 5k this fall!!

Is it too late to join you? i've been needing some cardio motivation! Can't start until monday, as I'm working all weekend.

Welcome, new C25Kers! I hope you find it as addicting as I have. You'll be amazing yourselves in no time (yeah, so shoot me if I sound like an infomercial ;)

W8D2 today. I decided to run for the distance of 2.75 miles which ended up being just over 30 minutes for me, since I'm running more of a 11-ish minute mile pace. I can't believe that I ran for 30 minutes OR 2.75 miles, even if it is a "slow" pace. Eight weeks ago I could barely run the one minute intervals.

Happy :running:!
