Today
I finally broke down and went to the doc today. My knees have really been bothering me. She told me I need to take a few days off the walking. 8 to 10 miles a day of walking/aerobic videos is just to much. She said if I were just walking that might be ok but not with the aerobics too. Well I do know they are really bothering me so think I am going to take her advice. I am going to go back down to 6 miles a day in a few days and see how that goes. It is what I have been doing the past few days and they are sure better than they were last week. Think I am going to replace the walking with some kind of resistance training and general calisthenics until I can do the walking videos again.

Rennie - if your doctor says to take a break, for goodness sake, take one! You can do other things that won't put strain on your knees. You definitely don't want to mess with knees!

Manda
That is exactly what I am doing. For knees that would never walk again they are doing pretty darn good lol. I am going to stick with just resistance training and toning videos for a few days like today. It doesn't hurt the knees as long as I don't do squats or lunges but I am still getting a nice workout. My knees feel so much better tonight. Better than they have felt in a couple of weeks just not doing the walking/aerobic videos. I think I was doing way to many miles and I am not a spring chicken lol. The knees just couldn't take all the beating they were getting. We are doing a 5k this weekend and I don't care if it takes us hours. It is going to be a nice leisurely stroll to the finish line .

Did 5 miles at the park yesterday so that was my 5k. Today we walked at the park for 4 hours. Was surprised we walked that long.

Took Weds-Sat off...just needed the rest through Friday, and Saturday just didn't go as planned, so missed an intended workout there.
Crossfit warm-up, 20 mins jogging, then a 32 min crossfit workout:
100 pull-ups (had to fake it with doorknob pull-ups, since I can't do a real one)
100 push-ups (resorted to 45 degree version by the end)
100 sit-ups (after 30, I felt I couldn't do one more, but I cranked them out 2 and 3 at a time...ouch!)
100 squats (like nothin', after those friggin' sit-ups! lol)

Well, after about a week 1/2 of non-activity, I did 70 minutes of The Biggest Loser 2 workout and it kicked my butt.
