Chest.

  • So I know most people want larger breasts, well I want SMALLER or atleast better toned and all! I am cursed (even though a lot of ppl say blessed) by being born into a family of very large breasted women so even at my teeny tiny size I still had large dd breasts. So my question is are there some exercises that you guys and gals know that will minimize the chest area? I hope this makes sense!
    Thanks in advance!
  • i don't know any exercises but i do know people can be a bit dim about breast size; i mentioned to my boyfriend that i've been having really bad back pain lately and he said it's probably because i'm so top heavy and it's a small price to pay for a being such a 'stacked broad'. i was not pleased...thoughtless twat. especially since i'm self-conscious about the size of my chest anyway, never mind the back pain.
  • You can't spot reduce. Just keep up the cardio and hope that eventually you burn some of that fat (breast tissue) off.
  • So basically there are no chest exercises then since you can't spot reduce? I figured you couldn't just go in on one place and expect to lose weight but i thought there would be some exercises that would help like tone and all.
    Oh well.
    Thanks people for your input.
  • Exercises to focus on your chest muscles would tend to make them bigger/perkier, which definitely isn't what you want.

What if you did back exercises to help support them better? We can help you with some of those...
  • Just keep working on reducing your overall body fat. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones that loses in the chest area as well.

Or you can do what I did and get pregnant and breastfeed twins. Prior to pregnancy I was a C/D cup and now I barely fill a B. Or course I had to trade my chest for 234,089,093 stretch marks and an abdomen that will never be the same again, lol.
  • Really all chest exercises work the muscles underneath your breasts. Losing fat is the only thing that can help you make your breasts smaller.

That would be wonderful. Anything would be great really!
    Thank you ladies!
  • You could start here:

    http://exercise.about.com/library/blbackexercises.htm

Anything you do to help strengthen the muscles of your back will help give you a stronger foundation to support what you have. It won't make them perkier, but it might eliminate problems with back pain, etc. that you might have experienced.
  • Many thanks to you all!
  • Yes, you definitely need to lose fat and build muscle to support your breast tissue. Don't just work your back muscles you need to do chest exercises too so that you stay symetric... you also need to work the abs under the chest area... Everything is connected...Also work your shoulders... AND get a GOOD fitting bra...

On the same site that Amanda recommended there are also exercises for the chest http://exercise.about.com/library/blsamplechest.htm ...

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress...
  • Oh yes, I ought to have mentioned - thx Ilene! You always want to work muscles that oppose eachother together, or you end up out of balance. Just as you wouldn't want really strong biceps and no tricep strength, you don't want to have a super strong back and no chest muscle strength!
