What is the best workout song ever???

What is your favorite workout song? The one that makes you move faster, jump higher, keep going??

for me, it is Demolition Man by Def Leppard.

Ok, I`m so typical, I know it, but it`s eye of the tiger!! Just like 5 million more people lol!:carrot:

And a guilty pleasure.. Crazy- Britney Spears

lointhecity 11-01-2007 12:25 PM

Iggy Pop/Lust for life... LOOVE that

mandalinn82 11-01-2007 12:38 PM

Atypical answer, but "Good Morning Baltimore" from the Hairspray soundtrack.

baffled111 11-01-2007 01:21 PM

It's really bad, but I like a remix of Britney Spears' Everytime. It always makes me want to run a little bit faster.

My gym music is completely atrocious. If anyone ever gets their hands on my mp3 player and decides to make judgments based on the stuff in my music folder, they'd probably have to stone me.

I think it is called Changes by Kelly Clarke

I think it is called Changes by Kelly Clarke. I hear it on a club mix stream through my pc. I start bopping the minute I hear it. Very upbeat!:carrot:

Depends on what kind of workout I'm doing, but, for spinning in my basement I like a really hard beat like Bleed it out by Linkin Park & Enter Sandman by Metallica. Always gets me spinning faster!

LittleMoonRabbit 11-13-2007 08:12 PM

My favorite work out song is definitely "lose yourself" by Eminem. Though, I also like "fighter" by Christina Aguilera.

BlueToBlue 11-14-2007 03:14 AM

Right now, it's Please Don't Stop the Music by Rihanna. I just downloaded it the other day and I hit repeat several times every time it comes up on my iPod. :dancer:

Before that, it was Check on It by Destiny's Child (my RPMs on the eliptical are noticably faster when this song comes up on my iPod).

Bad Medicine -- Bon Jovi

Rascal Flatts - Where You Are
It's nothing to do with running at all, but there are a few lyrics I like to apply to my running: "I'm a thirsty man", "You're a mountain top", "I can't believe how alive I feel", "All that I want is to be where you are." And it's got a great beat that pushes me a bit!

I downloaded software for my iTunes a while ago that calculates the BPM for all my songs, and then I made a playlist of music that has beats JUST slightly faster than my normal tempo. It definitely helped!

Lifeguard 11-14-2007 09:25 AM

My favourite is "I Love Myself Today" - Bif Naked. It just reminds me why I'm in the gym in the first place.

Great idea! I found a website once that listed hundreds of songs by their bpm range. I should find it again.

mandalinn82 11-14-2007 11:56 AM

Baffled - I am another one who would never let anyone see my iPod. Ever!

Scenestealer 11-14-2007 12:01 PM

Check out www.beatunes.com for the software I used. It's shareware, meaning you have to pay after the initial trial period. However, I analyzed all my music in a day, and then uninstalled, and the BPM data stayed with the songs. You do lose the analysis of the "color" of the music though, but the software isn't that expensive if you wanted to buy it.

Add me to the list of never letting anyone see my iPod!

I quite like Christina Aguilera's Fighter, MC Hammer Can't Touch This, and my gym seem to play a lot of Village People which is fantastic for cardio - if you ignore the fact that everyone in the gym over 25 is singing the lyrics!

FrouFrou 11-15-2007 03:59 PM

I agree with CA's Fighter and have that one. Whip It...Devo, Ain't No Stopping Me Now...Luther Vandross, and also Whitehead something can't remember, lol. There's lots more!

JigglyBits 11-17-2007 12:04 AM

U & ur hand, get this party started and who knew by Pink really get me going when I'm on the elliptical. quite a few songs from Justin timberlake as well although what I usually listen to is totally different to my workout list.

doIlookfat? 11-17-2007 01:23 AM

The song watch me shine by Joanna Pacitti. (it was in Legally Blonde, after she left the house in her bunny costume)

Heidi

doIlookfat, I love that song! She sounds a lot like Mandy Moore, don't you think? I love songs like "Touch the Sky" by Kanye West. All those horns and the positive lyrics get me going. I also love "Gold Digger".

Nori71 12-20-2007 12:56 AM

Jump by Van Halen... You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC ... Smooth by Santana... Whoomp! There It Is... Brick House by Commodores... Lap Dance by N.E.R.D.... Hey Ya by Outkast...and lots of other good rap by Run-DMC, LL... a little Shakira... Enigma for cooldowns

iconoclast 12-23-2007 10:38 PM

Faves:

Survivor -- Destiny's Child
Independent Women -- Destiny's Child
Pon de Replay -- Rihanna
Shake That *** -- Eminem (fair warning: the lyrics are SO offensive)
Lose Yourself -- Eminem
Unwritten -- Natasha Bedingfield
I Don't Feel Like Dancing -- Scissor Sisters
Chop Me Up -- Justin Timberlake

I almost always cool down to Breathe Me -- Sia. I also secretly love working out to peppy musical numbers. The Hairspray soundtrack is GOLD.
