Adding exercise into "plan"

So, I've been "dieting" since June 18th and I've lost about 26 lbs so far just by changing my eating habits. I started at 211 and now weigh about 186. However, my weight loss has slowed some, which is to be expected, I suppose to about half a pound a week to a pound and I'd like to kick it up a bit.

So, I bought a Gazelle Edge from walmart after reading mostly positive reviews and I plan on using it twice a day for about 20-30 min, morning and night. My question may be a silly one. About how long will it take for my weight loss to pick back up again? A few days? A week or two? I realize that it may stay the same as I build up my poorly-lacking muscles as result of the exercise a bit. Thanks.

I don't really know the answer to your question but I just wanted to say congrats on the 26lbs lost without exercise, thats' amazing, if I don't exercise I'm lucky to lose an ounce lol.

I think it depends. I started with aerobics, and then noticed that my heart was no longer really going so I started running. That very same week I lost 2 pounds.

I gained like 4 pounds after I started doing weights, it took about two weeks before everything evened out again.

Don`t be discouraged if you gain weight your first week. Worked muscles need water to repair themselves, so you will retain some more than usual. Trust me, unless you`re having prime rib every night, it´s not fat, just water.

GOOD LUCK and congrats on your weight loss!

Hey jhinako! :wel3fc: And congrats on your weight loss!

Twice a day every day sounds like a bit much. I'd say, try once a day for 30 minutes to start--that should be plenty. And rest every third day. You don't want to overexert and burn out on it. On the days you're not using the gazelle, you could just take a walk instead. Walking is good exercise.

I don't know how much or how soon, when it comes to pounds. You'd have to give more information about how many calories you are eating now, if you're counting calories. Or show a sample daily menu.

I'm going to move your thread to the Exercise! Forum where you might get more response. You'll see a link in Weight Loss Support for about a week, so it won't get lost in the shuffle. :)
