Hi,
does any one know how long we should go in walking shoes before getting new ones? I figure that I've got about 275 miles on this poor pair of shoes since I got them in mid-April. Should I get new ones? Is there an average period of time before getting new ones?

Do your feet or legs hurt when you walk? Are you getting sore when a month ago you wouldn't have? Pay attention to how you'll feel and you'll know when the shoes start to go.

I've put the Dr scholl's gels in them and my feet still end up hurting (not every day) but it could be the extra weight I'm carrying. I'll just keep them til the end of the contest then get another pair and see how my feet feel then.

I've HEARD, but can't quote anything, that you should replace walking/running shoes every 6 months.
