Metabolism, a Q.

Well a while ago Im not sure who, but some one or something I heard was saying that exercising for 5 minutes every hour, would definately help you lose weight and or get skinny ( Depending on if your growing your going to gain weight ) because it gets your metabolism going for people who have a slow metab. like me.

Is this true? because Ive been doing it and definately going to continue. Just been exercising my butt off, its really helping i must add.

That sounds like it might be true - frequent exercise is a wonderful thing... just like frequent small meals.

I swear I have a slug's metabolism, too... I've wondered from time to time if I have hypothyroid or something.

Well it really does make sence because when your sweating and stuff and exercising your burning calories, wich you get from eating. so either wich way exercise is VERY important.

If you're just starting out with exercise, it sounds like a good idea to me. But as you get better at it, you'll want to increase the time (but not do it every hour). The reason is that you want your muscle cells to burn fat, and usually you need to be exercising moderately for a certain length of time to get there. It's something like 15 minutes.

Keep going though! Sounds good!

Ya definately, I usually walk around a lake near my house, its about 1 mile i think maybe 2, but usually takes me half hour to get around walking at a constant pace and i do it 2-3 times a day.
