Exercises for jelly calf and flabby thigh?

Hi, I've been in a wheelchair for almost 6 weeks out of 8 after a foot fusion surgery and I can have no weight at all on my right foot.

1st thing that I noticed was that my calf turned to skinny squishy jello! after the cast came off....EWWWWW!!!

Now my right thigh looks deformed because it is getting all flabby too!
It's getting really skinny but all the "meat" seems to be hanging off the bone! HALP!

I used to walk 5 treadmill miles every day and in summer and Autumn about twice a week I added an additional 5 in the eve for a walk through town.
I miss my toned legs!

Can you think of any exercises that would work on my calf and thigh while lying down?
Does the "bicycle" movement work for that?

I cannot point my toe away or towards me yet, and my ankle has a lot of stiffness.
I go in Wed to see if I can start a teensy bit of weight bearing, and while I do plan on asking him his exercise advice, I don't think he has the foggiest idea.
He'll just send me to physical therapy. I'd rather do it at home if I can.

I think you should get the expert help of a physical therapist, ask your doctor...

Go to a physical therapist. They can give you exercises to do at home, you dont have to do them all there, but they will think of exercises we would never dream up.

Well darn! lol, I don't want to wait. It's getting so flabby.
I have never been very good at patience!

I know it's hard to be patient for things like that... But we really don't want to give you advice for such a serious problem, then if it's not the right advice you'll be no further ahead...

Better safe than sorry...
