I haven't gotten a walk in as of yet. Going to try and do a bunch of 10-15 minute walks in between doing other stuff and running errands. Will post later or tomorrow.

I just joined this forum a few days ago, so my goal is 30 miles for the month of May and I have done 9 so far. Does a walking dvd count as well? I do those on days when it's raining or my kids don't feel well. I don't have a treadmill yet.

Hi ladies - is it too late in the month for me to join you?
I walk approx. 3.2 miles per day while pushing my son in the stroller. I've been doing it since 5/11 and hope to keep it up daily. So far here is what I've done for the month: 5/11 - 1.5 5/12 - 2.0 5/13 - 2.5 5/14 - 4.5 5/15 - off 5/16 - 2.5 5/17 - 2.5 5/18 - off 5/19 - 3.2 5/20 - 3.2 5/21 - off 5/22 - 3.2 If I calculated that correctly that's 25.1 miles walked so far this month - with 9 days left in May I think I can probably add another 20 miles - at least. If you'd rather I can wait until June to join - just let me know! Thanks and good luck to all! eta: the 3.2 miles takes about 65 minutes to complete, hoping to improve on that with time. |

Walking
I tried to start a thread on here about this, but it wont let me, I do not know why so if someone can tell me why I would really appreciate it.
That being said, I would like to know if Walking really helps people lose weight (of course) along with a healthy eating style? Has anyone actually lost weight by walking? I am trying to walk a little more everyday since it is summer time in New York City. I was working out at home, then I just got a little bored and distracted so I would rather walk. It makes me feel a lot better, and I get a chance to get some fresh air (while listening to my music). Thanks |
