Hi Ilene!
I recommend to chose your personal trainer by checking out yourself his/her ways of training.
Does it suit for you? Your own eyes are the best deciders.
The name and the certificates are not so important, because matters that you are getting for what you pay.
The results must be seen on you, depending on your weight, in a month till 6 month.
Also, it is important that the personal trainer's personality suits with your personality.
Thanks for the great tips! About half a year ago, I started going to the gym, I took a personal trainer, I thought everything was going well. But he constantly looked at his phone, he did not help me and did not follow how I was doing the exercises, he just stared at his phone. I thought it was normal until I worked out with others as a coach once. Now I know that this should not be and I found another. Have a nice day!
[QUOTE=getfitchicks;2908292]I agree. I work with a trainer and he has 100% been the differance maker for me. I've lost 119 pounds working with him and it's his support, encouragement, pushing and adaptability that allowed me to do it.
He pays attention to what i need, how my body responds to various exercises and where my trouble area's are. He also encourages me to make fitness a lifestyle through other activities, not just the gym all the time. He designed my program for when I'm not at the gym and reviews it regularly, helps with goal setting...I could go on forever!
