Hi guys. I had a question regarding the mentioned exercise machines (a treadmill, exercise bike or rowing machine) and which might be best for me. It's not only about how many calories I can burn, but other factors as well.
I'm moving to the USA for a year, and will be renting a small apartment on my own. I have this fanciful idea in my head that if I go there and diet and exercise regularly, I can come back a new person, having lost a lot of weight (I'd like to lose at least 60-80 lbs in the year) and with healthier habits. From past experience I know that while I haven't been able to sustain the habit of going regularly to the gym or for walks, I do enjoy using exercise machines indoors. Because of this, I want to buy an exercise machine when I move.
The factors I was referring to above are:
- I don't have a very high budget. I would like to find a machine in the range of approximately $200-$400
- My apartment will be small and inexpensive, and in case the walls and floor are thin, I don't want to disturb my neighbours with the noise of a machine or my thumping, so if whatever I get has to be relatively quiet
- As I mentioned, I will be living alone. I would ideally like a machine that I can lift and assemble alone
- I am about 207 lbs, so whatever I get needs to hold my weight
Based on those factors, I would like to buy a machine. If there are any machines that you guys know of that fit my criteria but I haven't mentioned, please do let me know. I am absolutely determined to burn as many calories as I can at home.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
