and
For those who know far more than I do, what do you think about it's saftey

Oooh, that looks like it would feel good!

Yup! We have one at our local Y & it's wonderful! It's not a simple workout and there are different positions you can maintain to work on core or focus on hamstrings/quads etc. It's work but I love it!

In terms of safety I think it's fine. It's low impact like an eliptical but uses a broader range of muscles to make the thing work. I like to stand up straight to work the core while I plod forward. It's a lot like trying to walk through quicksand.

Have fun & enjoy the results!

I had a lot of trouble getting the rhythm down. But, lets face it, I'm not known for being coordinated, so it could be more an issue of me and less an issue of the machine :D

I tried one for a few minutes last week at my gym. I think it's perfectly safe, and much lower impact than a treadmill. You use different muscles than on an elliptical. I found that it was not as intense a workout as I can do on an elliptical, but I didn't stay on it very long. I'd use it as part of a combo cardio session: maybe 10 minutes elliptical, 10 minutes wave, 10 minutes spinning bike if you want a low-no impact workout.

Mel,

give it a try! I have been doing the eliptical for years, I love it too, but this kicked my butt! I did 30 minutes on this on Friday and my thighs have not hurt that much in a LONG time! I will absolutely add this into my routine an mix of cardio at the gym. I think based on the movement, this might do a good job toning.

lol, I would, but then I'd have to buy one! I do cardio at home before work, and lift at the gym during my lunch hour. I can't get drenched at lunch time!
