Shiratake Bowl using Miracle Noodles
7 oz **prepared Miracle Noodles per person ½ c Less Sodium chicken broth or water Choose Your Fresh Raw Veggies Onion Mushrooms Carrots Broccoli Bell Peppers (yellow, green, red) Cauliflower Napa Cabbage Bamboo Shoots Water Chestnuts Sugar Peas Bean Spouts Others you like Choose Your Protein of Choice Shrimp Pork Beef Chicken Salmon Mussels/Clams Other Fish Choose Your Sauce of Choice Thai Peanut Thai BBQ Kikkoman Stir Fry Black Bean Soy Others you like Place veggies of choice and noodles in a bowl together. Using a Wok or saute’ skillet, saute’ meat of choice 1st for a few seconds, then add bowl of veggies/noodles. Add ½ cup reduced sodium chicken broth or water. Cover and cook 2 minutes on high. Add sauce of choice. Cover and cook about 5 min or until veggies are of desired tenderness. **Prepared Miracle Noodles Open package and place in colander. Rinse with cold water. Cover with ice water for 2 min. Drain. Boil noodles for 5 min. Drain. Rinse with cold water. Drain. I'd imagine tofu would work in there as well.
I'd vaguely heard of konnyaku but I hadn't realised it was calorie-free. What's it like? I can't really imagine a food that is calorie-free, let alone one being pleasant to eat! On looking it up, apparently producing it involves eggshells, so as a good little vegan I won't be eating this myself, but I remain intrigued to hear other people's experiences. |
When prepared correctly and used in Asian dishes, these noodles are scrumptious! I didn't try them in dishes like American spaghetti or with an Alfredo sauce.
