Skillet Sausage Casserole

    1 cup


    1 (6-ounce) package long-grain and wild rice (suck as Uncle Ben's)
    1 (10.5) package of breakfast pork sausage(Johnsonville)
    1 (8-ounce)package presliced fresh mushrooms
    2/3 cup chopped celery
    1/2 cup chopped green onion
    21/4 cups water
    1 pouch liptons chicken noodle soup mix
    1 cup preshredded cheddar cheese

    Cook rice according to package directions, omitting fat. Set aside.
    Cook sausage,mushrooms,celery, and green onion until sausage is browned and veggies are tender. Stir in cooked rice,water, and soup mix,bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and sprinkle with cheese. Cover for 5 minutes or until cheese melts.
