Medifast---- Is this safe? Does this work?
 

Have you tried Medifast or know anyone that has? I want to lose more weight and am thinking about going on this program for probably a few months. What do you think? Is it safe?

We've had several threads on Medifast - this one recently, for example.

My personal experience with Medifast:

In November 2003 I weighed 340 lbs. I was on the Medifast program for five months and lost a total of 70 lbs. I liked the program--it fit in my schedule and the results were quick. However, I had side effects from it -- the main ones being hair loss and heart palpitations. I ended up putting 50 lbs back on (back to 320). Now I'm working on getting it off with a lifestyle change and NOT a quick fix.

I still use shakes for snacks, but not my main source of food.
