They are NOT supposed to charge your account until the item is ready for shipment. Whether the program is 'the bomb' or not (and judging from what I've read about the program itself...there is nothing new or 'magic' here) just having to deal with a company that does stuff like that would be enough for me to stay away... |
I've tried the plan several times and some of the ladies on the infomercial are friends of mine. The program worked for them and several of them lost over 100 pounds.
I got heartburn and was hungry a lot of the time, so I couldn't stick it out. Also, the program is sold by Provida; Michael Thurmond endorses it and doesn't use a computer. The call-in support staff is usually very helpful, although a couple of them have been rude. I'm sorry everyone had a bad experience; I can honestly say it didn't work for me for the reasons I just mentioned; but it does work for a lot of folks. If you are thinking about Thurmond's program, here's what you have to give up: Sugar Salt (unless you have low blood pressure) Dairy Some "types" can have simple carbs (pasta, bread); the majority cannot. The program was designed to be followed for six weeks and no longer. However, some people needed a longer period of time to lose their weight, so they stayed on it longer. For some it worked. For others, it is an exercise in complete frustration. I also notice that Denise Austin is now promoting a candy product as "snacking smart." Each of us has to find what works for us. Best of luck to everyone; and yes, by all means follow Mrs. Jim's advice about getting your money back. In the past, people who bought Richard Simmons' and Larry North's products had the same problems.... Claire PS: The new book Thurmond is promoting (at way too high a price, IMHO) is an expanded version of the Six-Day Mini Makeover which comes with the Six Week Body Makeover. The mini makeover is comprised of walking every day and eating nothing but the "Rapid Results" meals. |
This is the only diet I have been able to stick to and lose weight. Even took it to my doctor and he approved it. Within 3 months I cut my blood pressure pills down from two a day to one a day. It is very tough but in my personal opinion "What in life isn't rough when you are trying to do something like lose weight" It works if you work it. And the support groups on the boards is awesome. Have made some lasting friends.

It seems most of you had a luke warm or negative reaction to this program so I'm going to join weight watchers! That seems like a better deal!

Ok hate to bump this topic...but I just started a topic on this (with thouroughly searching--sorry)...
BUT-- if most of this info you can find (probably on the net) Does anyone know where I can find info about what types of foods are effecting my weight? I'd love to find that out (although I kinda have an idea, just wont admit to it)... |
Unless you have an allergy, no one type of food is going to affect/slow down/stop your weight loss. It just isn't. That said, I do believe it is perfectly possible to have a sort of stealth allergy, especially to common allergens like wheat and dairy (and soy!). If you suspect a problem with something like this, the only way to test it out is to cut the offensive thing out of your diet for a while, and see if how you feel improves. The downside is it can be viciously difficult to find these things in prepared foods. You have to be incredibly vigilant about reading labels, because sometimes the stuff lurks in the oddest places--there is, for instance, soy in water-packed chunk light tuna. The obvious answer to that, of course, is to eat foods in as close to their natural state as possible. Do that, and you'll almost be guaranteed to lose weight, no system necessary, because generally speaking processed foods are very calorie-dense.
