I've seen the commercial for this blender type device 100 times, it looks like it would be a good one? (Though I wouldn't let an old lady smoke around my kitchen with dangling ashes!!! yuk!

Anyone have it?

I haven't seen the commercial,however I just checked the website for the blender.

$90 seems pretty expensive...from the description, it sounds as though it does pretty much the same things my Braun hand blender (which I paid $20 for) does. Of course, I didn't get all those different blades and cups; however, most of the time I use one of my Servin' Savers or the beaker that came with the hand blender and it works just dandy. More cups and gadgets, I really don't need!

And BTW...I've had my Braun hand blender for 4 years now...still works great!

I saw that info mecial a thousand times. The whole setup is so fake.. But its entertaing.

I've had a Braun hand blender for more than 10 years now - same one - it's great and pretty inexpensive.

My old Braum finally pooped out on me so I went out and bought a new one. It is even better then my old one. AND it was under $20.00 bucks.

My co-worker bought the "Magic Bullet", she loves it! She also got it for cheaper than 90 dollars. I told her to buy the Braun hand mixer, and then I went into the store and compared what she got with the bullet thing, and figured she got a pretty good deal. You get SO much stuff with it, its pretty insane, I think she got it through Sears, and ended up getting a really good deal on it. She also uses it everyday, so I guess it was worth it for her in the end. I couldn't justify paying that much, considering I would never use it.

$90 seems crazy!

I've given up on gimmicky appliances, and have started researching products before I buy them. I wore out two smoothie makers, then settled on an old fashioned beehive Osterizer, and can't get over the difference! Peek in my windows, and you might see me bowing to it! I still use my Braun hand blender for a lot of jobs, too.

For chopping and dicing, I've given away my little gadgets, and have learned how to properly use a good knife and cutting board. It's not only dependable, but there's a certain amount of pleasure in it Preparing food isn't hard, but the infomercials make simple tasks look hilariously difficult! Have you seen the one for the pancake maker, and the cook makes a huge mess trying to flip a pancake? How about the "eggstractor" that peels your eggs for you? How far gone are we, that we can't even peel an egg? (Plus, I've heard that it's worthless, more trouble than peeling an egg)

My favorite food appliance infomercial of all time had to be this one from like 15 years ago...looked as though it was filmed in the kitchen of a mobile home or something. The product was a filled sandwich maker - one of those ones you plug in. The woman turned out stuff like apple turnovers made with white bread, melted butter and pie filling, calzones, stuff like that. I think the appliance was selling for like $70. I've seen similar products selling for $20 or less since then (nope, I've never bought one!).

and i won't even admit what i thought the original thread was about. lol let's just say it wasn't a blender.

I have the Magic Bullet and I love mine. It's made really well and it actually does what the infomercial says it does. It's a very good machine but I got mine as a gift so I didn't have to shell out any money for it. Although if I to buy it for myself I would after having used it. The infomercial is a bit over the top though. The lady with the cig has got to go.

I love all the infomercials for these things! Really wanted the Magic Bullet thing but settled for a $9.99 minichopper from Wally World for making chopped salads, sorbet, etc. ... I have a $39 small smoothie maker that I also love and a $9.99 hand blender and they all do pretty much the same thing as the Bullet. I'd never use all the cups. Hamilton Beach also makes a full size blender with an individual travel cup that you can put on the machine rather than the big blender, you can throw in fruit and vege or whatever and make an individual smoothie that you then, presumably, just grab and go. I'd like that one, too.

The hot dog thing is ... strange.

Actually, I forgot what I meant to post ... I had one of those pancake turner pans ... was a disaster.

But some infomercial things are neat, like the pasta pans with drain holes so you don't have to take the lid off. I have several of those.

Another seen-on-tv gimmick (although I never did see it on TV) that I bought in the drugstore is a set of donut pans ... they are great for making muffins ... forget donuts and jelly donuts, though. Best to buy these in the store.

I always figure that if something in an infomercial actually WORKS, it'll show up in the stores eventually anyway...and if it sucks, then it'll be on eBay!
