Has anyone tried PGX Daily?

  • Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone out there has tried PGX daily? I work in a drug store and PGX is probably the only diet supplement that really sells well. That being said, I don't know if I've ever seen the same person buy it twice. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with it?
  • I've read a bunch of the goal stories on this site, from people who have lost a significant amount of weight and kept it off, and not one of them has mentioned PGX daily.

Every single one of them has mentioned rationing their food intake and sticking with it no matter what.
  • I have tried it..all it did for me was make me extremely bloated and a lot of gas with painful cramps. I felt bloated to the point it was very painful. But everyone reacts differently to them, and no weightloss on them either.
  • Never heard of it.
  • I keep going on and off PGX. When I am on, I lose more. I only get crampy the first day and then I am fine. I take 3 pills with water a half hour/hour before breakfast/lunch/dinner. I also like the sticks that you dissolve in water but drink them fast because they gel up quickly lol. I sometimes have for breakfast a smoothie of pgx protein (vanilla) combined with water and cup of blueberries.
  • I tried the pills about a year ago. I gained 3 pounds in two days, freaked out and took them back to the store. It was probably water weight, but I didn't like gaining anything! This time I bought the sticks and used one in my oatmeal this morning. What bothers me about PGX is the possiblity of intestinal blockages that could happen if you don't drink enough water with it. (I read that somewhere, maybe even in the instructions.)
  • Thanks for the reminder to take it with plenty of water. It actually helps get my water intake up there too as I usually take a big glass with the pills then sip water in between. Also for the same reason as you mentioned, they shouldn't be taken late at night/before bed.
  • I don't think the question is "Does it work" because it is a fiber supplement and fiber does "work" and it even does all the things it claims because ... fiber does those things!

The better question is ... do you need extra fiber in your diet, is this the best way to get the extra fiber, and is the price reasonable.

In my opinion - you're better off eating more veggies but if you want to supplment with fiber there are many less expensive ways to accomplish the same thing.
  • I like PGX because it helps with appetite control and makes me feel full longer. It may be a placebo effect, but I found it helps. Plus, it also makes me drink more water.

It's also the only over the counter weight loss supplement that I've seen so far that seems to do something and doesn't have harmful side effects.

It's not a miracle pill, but I've bought it multiple times and will repurchase. Your mileage may vary, though.
