Bathroom Scale
 

I need a new bathroom scale, mine bit the dust. Any suggestions on what to look for or what brand is better? Thanks

I can't give you advice on which brand is better, but can share my personal experience. The best scale I ever used was a Health-O-Meter EVER-Weigh. I purchased it based on recommendations from other members. It weighed to the half pound, and it was always accurate with my physicians scales. I could stand on it 10 times in a row and get the same weight every time. I purchased it about 3 years ago, and it was around $65 at the time. My scales were recently demolished by a stack of heavy guitar amplifiers :eek: I was unable to find the same model locally, but did find them on ebay.

The worst scales I ever purchased were chosen simply because they looked good. They were made from hammered aluminum and were gorgeous. However, every time I stood on them, my weight varied. I think the brand was "Measurements" or something like that.

I own one of the Tanita scales. I think that the body fat percentage does come back a little high, but overall I'm very happy with the scale. You have to wiegh in at the same time of day and be careful during times when you are retaining water. It may not be the most accurate but it gives you a good sense of your progress. You just can't get depressed if it says it's higher than you think it should be. I just use it as a monitor of progress. The scale is very accurate and weighs to the half pound. Also, I bought the scale at Costco and I think it only cost around $35 there. :dizzy:

I have the Tanita Scale... It measures your weight within a tenth of pound... It is very accurate... I have the model that you can set for two persons... And it measures your fat as well...
They do suggest that you take a month's worth of weight and fat readings and average them out...(weighing in everyday at the same time -- preferably in the am after you have emptied your bladder) In order to get accurate fat readings you should be sure that you are bare foot...
Once you have your average weight and fat readings then you can weigh in as often as your program suggests... I weigh in once per week...
I bought mine oline at a health supply (sorry forgot the name) they offered free shipping and the cost was around $65 I love mine:D -- I have had some scales that were as much as 10lbs off:mad:
