500 Calorie Diet

  • I tried this....for two days. Well, I tried a version of it. I did NOT get the injections that come with the diet. I just read about it online and limited my days calorie intake to 500. First off, that's hard to do! Second off, you feel horrible by the end of the day.

I don't recommend it. It's fast weight loss with overall negative results. The slow, long lasting methods are definitely best!
  • 3fatchicks does not support a very low calorie (VLC) diet unless it is under strict medical supervision.
    Slow and stead is best.
  • Calories are the measure of how much energy the nutrients, carbs, protein and fats in the food can provide your body with. Limiting your intake to such a low amount will leave you feeling very tired and sluggish. Your body needs the energy from food to do EVERYTHING! Pumping blood, breathing, walking....everything!!

I would limit my calorie intake to this low an amount. I think 1200 is the lowest thats recommended.
  • keeping all respect for 3FC rules about VLC diets......and the injections will shall not be named--- the reason you take the injections with the 500 cal is to prevent sever muscle loss, which is what a 500 cal diet does. You DONT want to lose all your muscle.... not smart think you figured that out though
  • Yeah, I won't be doing that ever again! Today, my breakfast alone was around 500, and I'm feeling very good, even after my 30 minute gazelle workout. I plan for lunch and dinner to be about the same.
  • im on a 1000 calorie diet by my dr. but sometimes i cant even eat that much like today i always have to stop eating by 7pm and its 640 and ive only had about 400 calories today
  • that does NOT sound healthy. How do you eat so little?? I have to stop myself from eating over 1600 calories a day and i can STILL go for more...
i have tried to limit myself to 1200 and i cant do it.. im starved and i just feel grumpy by the end of the day...

is the muscle loss what ketosis is suppose to mean?
  • Again, we don't support VLC diets because they can be dangerous and your doctor is the person to talk to, not the Internet.
