Eat-Clean Diet?
Hi All,
I picked up a magazine called Clean Eating and flipping through it learned about the Eat-Clean diet. I love the magazine, but wanted more info about the diet book(s) to see if I should drop my hard earned cash on it/them. Any info appreciated & thanks in advance! :flow1: |
Can you give the cliff notes on the diet?
I think most people here eat "'clean" - meaning natural foods, nothing (or few things) processed with as few additives as possible. |
I think that's the premise, but I don't know anything about the actual diet-that's what I was feeling out for. My library system doesn't carry the book. I'll probably end up buying at least the recipe book. Maybe I can find a break down of it online.

if you're referring to the Eat Clean program by Tosca Reno, I can tell you everything you want to know and then some. Before my surgery when I was following her plan rather 'loosely' in that I didn't prep foods according to her recipes but did eat only the things on the okay to eat list, worked out every day, incl. 3 days a week with a trainer for 1 hour and an additional hour on my own, and 2 1-hour cardio extreme {kickboxing one day, 'high intensity step' the other} I lost 23 pounds and 23 inches in 3 months.
It's wonderful as far as results, and it makes a ton of sense. Eat 6 small meals a day, practice portion control and eat only first-tier foods {minimally processed} Work out at least 3x a week, primarily with free weights, and you will see results. I am actually off to B & N to pick up her most recent book, the 'families' version with kid-friendly recipies and tips for kids, this afternoon and am 'restarting' or going back to what I know works, today :) |
I'm not sure there's any connection between the magazine Clean Eating and the book The Eat Clean Diet.
|
I know that Tosca Reno writes for Clean Eating Magazine & they really seem to promote her ideas & book, but I don't know if they are related, or to what extent.

I dont know if it's the same diet, but this might help:

I own the book and her cookbook. It's a really great buy, it makes complete sense and she is living proof. I like how she doesn't want you to cut carbs, you basically just have low glycemic ones old fashioned oatmeal and brown rice. There is a magazine that she is a part of Oxygen and I love it! It has really great weight training routines for women and the women in the magazine eat-clean and are a great inspiration
