I see this is an old thread, but there is some misinformation here.

Would there be any benefit to chewing on these pads? :?:

I thought it was like organic chewing tabacco that was actually good for you as opposed to regular chewing tobacco.
The only bad part is you gotta take up baseball, frequently grab your privates, and spit alot. I wasn't too interested due to the additional habits that would need to be developed if I took up chewing these pads. |
:lol3: I like your sense of humor Rocky!!!

Well, I actually heard that there were herbs that you can chew on similar to chewing tobacco.
Since it's supposed to be good for you, I assume you swallow instead of spit http://bestsmileys.com/music2/6.gif |
I said it was -mostly- impermeable. Nicotine patches, and other medication patches, have engineered molecules of whatever material they are trying to get into your bloodstream - engineered so they can pass through. There are exceptions, like garlic. But the materials in these pads aren't exceptions to that "Mostly impenetrable" rule...they fall into the "lotion" category (doesn't pass through), rather than the "medical patch" category (does pass through).

I think the pads must have iron or something in them that rusts (or corrodes, whichever you prefer) when subjected to the sweat (salt water) from the bottom of the feet.
|
This is completely fake. Dateline did a special about "do they work" and these were on there. The only reason the foot pad turns brown is from your feet sweating while wearing the pad. The sweat goes into the pad and there is a brown substance under the pad that is brought forth when wet and that's the gunk you see every morning...not toxins.
Total crap. ~Utterly Absurd~ |
depends on the manufacturer on what dried powder they use to turn "brown" with all the toxins...but for most its a seaweed powder...and yes, its pure CRAP. Save your money or wait to get some at the dollar store when the fad dies down...thats where most of these things end up here in Dallas.

I dunno, they cured my hampster of cancer!!!
I'll admit it was a hassle cutting up the pads into little bitty strips and getting them on Budroe's tiny feet...but he's alive and well now. Budroe is sooooooo glad I found these detox foot patches http://bestsmileys.com/signs7/9.gifhttp://bestsmileys.com/signs2/3.gifhttp://bestsmileys.com/signs5/9.gif . . . . . . . |
Rockerz.... I don't know if your insane or if your hilarious!

Thanks for the info on these. I've wondered since they hit the main market about them.
