That was way too small a test group for definitve results. That is a good website but not gospel. Some of her findings are not accurate so be sure you also check other sites.

sharpertx - nawchem has shared some excellent info with you. sorry I've just been too busy to post on the thyroid threads lately, but I'll try to find some time soon, but if you have a doc that doses you based on your bloodwork and you you ask your doc about thyroid tests, make sure she is running the FREE T3 and FREE T4. simply asking about T3 or T4 is not the same things as FREE T3 and the FREE T4 tests.
take care, Cathy |
I like free t3 and free t4 tests too, but my endo like free t-4 and total t3. I didn't do well on synthroid, and in fact it blew me up like a balloon in two weeks, I demanded to be taken off of it. I went on Armour thyroid instead, and felt tons better. My numbers look good, but I may be a little low. My BP was a little low today - so we're changing my BP meds to see if that helps. If I am still fatigued and cold, I may need to have the doc increase my armour dose.
Some folks do well on Thyolar which is a preset mix of t3 and t4 - my sister swears by it, but now had added a tad of amour with it, and that combo makes her feel much better. With the Armour, I've been able to lose some weight - it was impossible before without it. Takes a ton of exercise, and low glycemic foods.... I fight for every pound. |
