Hello, my name is Jody and I am 37 years old. I am married but no children unless you count my 5 furry ones (3 dogs & 2 cats). I have been battling this weight loss thing most of my life. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1995 and just recently diagnosed with this new thing called Syndrome X which is a form of insuling resistance. This is related the Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome.
All of the above make it very difficult to lose the 100 extra pounds I have accumulated on my 5'5" body.
I am new to this forum and hoping to find some support from others with like problems. The fibro makes is difficult to exercise regularly because of the fatigue and pain.
The pcos and insulin resistance make it difficult to lose weight because of the way my body deals with insulin.
I have recently seen a dietitian and was told to begin a diet using the glycemic index. Has anyone else ever heard of or tried this?
I would very much enjoy corresponding with others with any of my conditions and welcome any advice.
I hope to hear from some of you soon.
All be well and best of luck in your fitness efforts.
Sincerely,
Jody
