Anyone dieting with PCOS?

PCOS is an endocrine disorder effecting women that cause insulin resistance which leads to obesity. My doctor has me on a low-carb, sugar-free diet to treat the symptoms, along with medication. Just wondering if anyone else is struggling at following a diet to treat this condition, how you're doing, which program you're using, and what kind of results you are getting. I was just diagnosed with PCOS in April and am struggling to stick to a new WOE and combat this syndrome. Just wondering if there's anyone else in the same boat!

Good luck!

Hello, I have endometriosis and PCOS. I am 20 years old and have had 8 laproscopes, a tube and ovary removed, endometriosis removed, cysts removed, and 2 D & C's ( I wasn't ever pregnant). I have had female problems since I was 12 years old. Recently I had to have a surgery similar to a cesaerian, but wasn't pregnant. I had to have the same six inch incision, but no baby from it. I had to have six cysts removed off of my only ovary left, and also had 1/4 of that ovary taken out. I am also on Metformin, and am dieting. I decided when I hit the 200lb mark at 5'4 inches, that I had had it with being fat! I started dieting three weeks ago. All I have done is quit eating junk and only eat some carbohydrates. Also, When I want a milkshake or something sweet I use these two tricks. Fill a glass with skim, fat-free milk, add one packet of sweet-n-low and vanilla flavoring to taste. Add ice and voila, a milkshake flavored drink! Another trick is to fill a glass with cold water, add a pack of sweet-n-low, and lemon juice to taste, and voila sugar-free lemonade. I am also hypoglycemic and insulin resistant, so I really have to watch what I eat. I have lost 18 pounds so far, I am taking it off pretty fast, but I am not doing anything unhealthy. Good luck.
