That's interesting about the gall bladder. This last year, I have had terrible diverticulosis and ibs. On prescriptions last summer and fall-antibiotics-can't eat anything that isn't soft like baby food. No raw fruit, hardly any vegetables-squash, carrots, canned green beans. Sometimes I feel like I should give up and go on liquids. I also can't eat wheat or dairy. I am really frustrated. I had a colonoscopy a couple of years ago but I had no polyps-just major diveritculosis. Any advice. Anyone tried activia. Mima

I am so glad I found this thread. I have IBS with constipation. My doctor told me that I am full of poop, isn't that nice? He put me on Zelnorm. 2mg twice a day. I joined WW so that could get my eating under control, lose some weight, and just feel good. I only learned just these past few days about the difference in fiber. I am trying to learn my trigger foods....thanks for your info, it is very helpful, and nice to know I am not alone.

Me too
I am struggling with this right now too. I am pretty sure I have IBS Constipation, they just have to rule out gallbladder next week and then I will be hopefully able to start zelnorm. I lost a lot of weight a few years ago on low-carb but now I feel like anything I eat just blows me up immediately and I don't know how to maintain or lose my weight while eating soluble fibers which are loaded with carbs. Also, I can never tell if I am losing or gaining fat anymore because my bloating and constipation is so severe. Do you feel that way, that you can't go by the scale or your clothes to tell if you are gaining or losing. Anyway, good to know there are other people out there.
Right now I am on a liquid diet with a potato here or there just to try to improve the situation marginally. |
