Good morning-am I having an allergy attack-high tree pollen-low thyroid because my med has been reduced-or reaction because I have lowered my prednisone dose. Stuffy, tired , achy, depressed. Wheezing. Oh well-can't go to docs today. Going to eat breakfast and go to church. Mima

Mima- The pines are blooming and the oaks are starting.. Bad time for allergies. My daughter suffers every year. I take medication every morning for it. Hope you are feeling better soon. My right shoulder has been giving me a fit. Not a good time for that either. I asked my Dr. what to do. He said 'take the Darvocet'. I really don't think that is the answer.No relief there. I may go this week and tell him so..
Tammy- my daughter spends every weekend working on plans and paper work. Too bad you teachers don't get paid for 24 hr. work.
Happy- I wish I could open my windows more. But, I would be cleaning constantly. Dust.Then in the summer the heat and humidity will keep the air on..

Joanne, I still have test booklets to get names on and all of the other info. before our testing starts on Tuesday. I think I might recruit Tim and a couple friends to help out with coloring in the circles under the names on the test booklets. Some years I have allowed the students to do it. With this year's kids, it could be a disaster! lol

I know those kids-I am reliving my teaching through you, Tammy!! I really would like to get into some volunteer work down here but I don't see any call for tutoring. For now, I'll volunteer at my own house!!! Things have slowed down considerably-no appts this week unless I go to docs. Feeling better but so congested. I would love to help you, Tammy!! I'm good at circles since that's what I do when I correct the teacher test, But of course, I need to know the answer first. Like what score to give!! Weather is gorgeous again, I have 3 projects going-one is material that I am hand-quiting for Evan-a no brainer. Going to make a valance for living room. Need a curtain rod 120"-and 6 inches deep to go over top of vertical blinds/
I bet Meme's tired today-rest up. we wnt to Sunday school, church, and out to eat yesterday. 2 of our friends have that flu-with the coughing. I fell this morning. The dog dug our stones at the bottom of the back steps out AGAIN (for the third time) and I was stepping over them ... had my right foot on the bottom step and got that bad pain in my right ankle and down I went. I was coming in from talking with a customer and was going UP the steps so I fell up and not down. I had my right hand on the rail so I twisted that wrist trying to hold myself, twisted my left wrist and pulled a muscle in my arm trying to catch myself, fell on my left hip, twisted both ankles and skinned my leg, too. I'm a mess, I even hit my head somehow! Hubby has filled that in twice already but she gets back under there and digs it out. I called him ... told him what happened. He said he was going to put some concrete in there when he gets home ... see if she can dig through that! :p

The Home Show was a big success but I'm sooooo tired. I don't even know how many people stopped at our booth. It was awesome. The kids loved the jellybeans. I had 2 ties yesterday and 2 Friday. I had one little girl that guessed within 26 so I thought I'd send her a certificate for a Happy Meal and a Baskins Robbins Ice Cream both since she got so close. There were actually 2371 jellybeans in the jar. I told hubby that if I had to count all those, he had to eat them after it was over! :eek: There goes his sugar this week! :lol: You'd be surprised at how many adults who stopped and wanted to guess, too! ;) I also had a couple of bowls of jellybeans sitting out to eat and they went like crazy. He had a contest going for $200 off a trailer and had over 200 register for that so that's a lot of potential customers! It was nonstop the whole three days. Hubby said we were going to do it again next year ... I said I'd better start resting up NOW!!!!!!!

Talking about allergies ... everytime I step outside the door my eyes start watering and my nose starts running. I take Allegra and use Nasonex and I still have symptoms. I've tried almost everything on the market and everything over the counter ... nothing else works! If I miss a couple of Allerga it's 10 times worse than it is now, too. And Allegra is so expensive ... the insurance companies make you have your doctor fill out a paper saying you have tried all the other allergy medicines and you HAVE to have Allegra! And even WITH Allegra I STILL have symptoms! I love spring but I dread to see stuff start to blossom around here ...

Eleni and I met our sister Mary today for lunch. She gave us a nice gift for our B/D. Eleni's is the 8th and mine is the 10th.I hate to see the scale thrusday. I will have to watch things really close till then.. It seems the more I try to watch my eating the more I want to eat...

Mima, my hubby ended up coloring in circles last night while I napped! He has never offered to do things for me for school, so I was pleasantly surprised. I think he knows how much I've been hurting lately.

Meme, You better be more careful young lady!! We don't need you to break something. Glad things went well at the Home Show. Now I'd like some jelly beans. My son has used Allegra, and it doesn't work the best with him. Sometimes the cheap brand at Wal Mart works the best for him.

Right now I have asthma from the allergies-not as bad the last 2 days but then I went and ate 4 cookies so that's not good but they were-in the freezer because we couldn't go to the Superbowl party. The dog is acting strange lately. We got him groomed and he seems to have a hot spot but he is very lethargic but then he starts running around wild. He is 14 so we won't go into expensive tests. Wow ... am I ever sore! I'm not working today ... unless somebody pulls in the driveway about a trailer! I cancelled piano lessons, anyway! Boy, is it ever cold ... it snowed last night. Good idea!! I made my living room curtains and Brad is going to put up the rod today!! I am back decorating. Now I want to put up my border in the bedroom and get some curtains up. Tammy- I have had one perm in my life.. My hair is a little curly anyhow. I don't know what I was thinking. She about burned it all off.My hair is not as thick as it used to be.
Spent a lot of time in the mall today. Didn't spend a lot. I bought some socks and hand cream..Big spender!

Joanne, when I chaperoned our HS band to Disney in Feb. 2004, it was sooooooooo cold! I guess it hit record lows while we were there. We leave Ohio and go to Florida to freeze. lol Actually, most of the time it was nice. It was just one day that was bad for us.

My perm feels great! Just knowing that all I have to do is wash it and go now. Sometimes I'll use a curling brush or iron when I have a perm, but most of the time I just go curly.

I haven't been to the mall in ages. Maybe I'll go over our spring break. Socks and hand cream are good. You sound like me and my purchases!

Hi guys-it poured here but I got the valance up and it looks great. And Jill came over with Evan yesterday. He is into EVERYTHING-ate the cardboard off my videos. We went to Home Depot and she got some more childproof locks. But his disposition is so much better and he is starting to talk. It's funny to hear him say backpack. He calls Alison Ala but he hasn't said Mima yet. He might rename me. Mike is having a St Patricks party Sat night and some musicians are coming and we will sing Irish songs. I'm freezing. It really isn't that cold here. Just me I guess. I've got the heat turned up but I'm still cold. Last night I was cold in the van going to church ... nearly ran hubby out of there! ;) Cold at church ... cold at I Hop when we went to eat ... told them to crank up the heat. Nearly froze ... when we got home, I had some computer work to do so made me some hot tea and piled on THREE throws and was still shivering. Don't know what's wrong with me! My blood must be low again!!! :(

Back to work! Seems like that all I ever do anymore. (Nearly tax time! That's what happens when you have a business!) :p

get warm, Meme and Tammy too. It's really nice here. Sometimes I wonder if my thyroid is ow again, but I am not cold. I made a mistake buying potato chips with Olestra and I have had the worse gas since then. They should print it on the FRONT of the package, We bought a lawn mower on line from Amazon.com yesterday-free shipping and no tax. They mow our lawn here but they get the grass all over the house and the white stones and do a terrible job so we will do it ourselves-actually me for now. But Brad gets to put up some more curtain rods in the bedroom today, And I am going to put up the wallpaper border. I want to have Easter here so I have a goal. I had a pretty nice day yesterday. I don't feel 72.I heard from all my family except my G/son. He is on the Truman somewhere near Irag.He should be home next month. I told my G/daughter ,when she called and asked me how old was I now,27.. We had a nice talk. She is in nurses training. She will have a BS in nursing and almost a biology degree when she finishes.She switched when she realized she was going to end up going to school 4 more years..She is ready to get done.I do hope she will finish the biology degree some day.
I get cold easy too. When everyone is in short sleeves and warm I am wrapped up. It should be getting warm here. I see by the weather man that we will have another front this coming week.. They are short cool spells and then it is warm the next day.
I have been neglecting things around here so I better get busy..

I feel about 101 today. Still recuperating from that fall on Monday. Trying to get a little housework done. Take one step forward and two steps back. Seems like if I let things go for a couple of days they pile up so much I'm playing catch up for weeks. Then, like everyone else, have to make a Wal Mart run tonight. Baby Jenna is having another BD and her party is tomorrow so I have to shop for that, too. I don't know if I can do all that ... it's a bit much in my decrepit condition. ;)

Mima ... sewing and mowing ... what else are you going to do?

Tammy, I don't know about you but I'm about ready for this weather to be over! I don't know how Anne stands it way up there in Canada! I'm still freezing in TN!!! Just a few more weeks and maybe you can start letting the kids go out and play at recess. Anne ... did you get over your flu finally?

Meme - I do hope you won't overdo it today! Just REST. That means lay down and take it easy, in case that word isn't in your vocabulary :lol: I am over the flu. I had an appointment with the heart specialist on Thursday. I have just been having such dreadful fatigue since she increased my meds for the arrythmia, so she is cutting the beta blocker from 120 mg 2x a day to 40 mg 2 x a day and adding a new drug that doesn't cause fatigue. It is a called Rythmol. I don't know that I like the side effects much, but Sotalol had about the same. I start it on Monday. She wanted me to wait in case I run into problems and then the ER isn't as busy. I sure hope it works without a hitch.

Now Meme - it isn't cold here. It has been in the 50's all last week, and in the high 40's the week before. It isn't even mid March, and the creek in the ravine behind my condo is running freely. It is sooo pretty to watch. The ground is covered in snow (which is leaving quickly btw) and there is a little foot bridge. The birds are back and making nests. No, winter isn't gone, but we just had that week of -30 or better. The winter hasn't been bad at all. Also, it is VERY dry here, so the cold, dry weather is kind to arthritis. It is the damp I can't handle and that will be coming soon, with the spring rains. Actually, it did rain a bit yesterday. You Americans all think Canadians live in igloos :lol:

Mima - You are keeping busy. I don't care that much for soda bread, but it IS good for you. My Naturepath gave me a fairly good recipe for it. Have fun at the party.

Joanne - I finally had the energy to walk some yesterday. Also, washed some walls, and now my lower back hurts. I don't know why I don't leave well enough alone.

Tammy - Hello. How is your hand doing now? My girlfriend had both of hers done, one in Nov and the other in Dec. One healed and the last one didn't. She hasn't been to work since Nov. She can't use the one hand and she is a Secretary for the Govt. She has to go back and see the specialist again in 5 weeks.

Candice - Where are you? I hope you are doing ok now. How is the pain doing? Did you get to a Dr. and see about it yet. You asked about the yeast. It is now a chronic problem. Doesn't seem like it is going ANYWHERE!!
