Good morning-at work. Had to kick someone off the computer-he was on for an hour. I read a whole book last night-couldn't put it down. Anyhow, that soup sounds great Candice. maybe your son will have to get an alarm-that's terrible!!!Bye for now-gotta clean the car-I am the designated driver. Mima
|
Mima, so what did you read?????????????????????
|
I'd like to know that, too!
I just got through reading "Three" by Ted Dekker ... I couldn't put that one down either! It was great. He's a Christian writer but he writes psychological thrillers. No bad language ... I've ordered some more of his books ... can't wait 'till they get here. I have 12 for a cookout tonight and it looks like rain. Son's BD today ... he's 38. I got up & got dressed, took some darvocet, layed back down, had a man come to look at trailers, stood around out in the hot sun too long with him and got a headache. He finally bought one and I came back in and layed back down and now I feel like I've been drugged, woke up, drugged again and then tied to the back of a truck and DRAGGED. |
Meme..I can't read thrillers anymore..makes me to tense! Hope your meal went well and you are feeling better......I hate that drugged feeling and that dragged feeling!

The name of the book was The Carousel-can't think of the author but he also wrote The Christmas Box and The Locket-his books are sometimes made into television movies. Really good-I like thrillers so I will see if I can get some books by Dekker. Doing ok eating-lots of walking. Brad is coming up tonight-I'm glad. MIma

Hey There
Off to see my daughter tomorrow.. You good people have a Great Weekend...Joanne
|
Mima, I saw those wo movie on TV..like them! No serious reading for me unitll I get to the eye doc........
Walked 2 miles outside today and now my hips hurt bad! Eating good so far...at least it all tastes good;) |
Have fun Joanne. Richard Evans is the author. I got two large print books at the library because they have more of a selection in that section. Last day of work til next week. Now the missionaries may stay somewhere else than in our camper. I don't think the mission director knows how nice our camper is. Oh well, that was a lot of stress for me. Brad was here last night-makes things seem normal. Gotta check out and argue about the 3$ bottle of water they charged me for last time. Mima

Whew... that must've been some water!
I gotta get new glasses soon, too. Goin' blind here. But I dread it because I have to have soooo many. Bifocals, sunglasses, computer glasses, piano glasses ... tooooo many glasses. Wish I could just go back to my contacts. Guess that's what happens when you get old and decrepit. More rain today ... the fair starts here tonight, looks like it may get rained out on the first night. Hubby has rented out space between the midway and the rides to set trailers. Hope he can at least get them up there and get them set up for the weekend. I sold one Monday and one this morning. Gonna have to order some more. Have to run to town and print him some flyers I made for the fair and buy him some cotton shirts to wear at night ... it's soooo hot up there. There's just not enough hours in the day anymore. It's hard to teach and run a business and take care of grandchildren and have BD parties and do housework, laundry, shopping etc. - and all this time I'm supposed to be staying off my ankle ... yeah, right! |
Meme...why can't he get his shirts and flyers????????????
Did another 2 miles outside..still hurtin'! Took my camera along this time to catch the sunset............in the corn fields.......... Mima...3.00 water? I hope it had something special in it!!!!!!! |
It was Dasani and I never would pay that. I only get bottled water for when I am in the car. The clerk in the hotel said she would look it up and give me a credit. It sounded like it was not the first time that this had happened. It is good to be home. A Fair in Tennessee sounds like fun Meme-except when you have to work at it. I got home one day early and am glad to have extra time off. Only 3 days next week. I have to come home to straighten out my IBS til I go back. That's a good reason to be home but I do love to see my friends and also activate the knowledge that I received from 34 years of teaching. I am not sure the Missionaries are going to stay with us-one less stress. Then I can enjoy their visit because they are going to speak at Brad's church plus there is going to be a pot luck supper at night. Going to give the condo to a realtor on Monday. Mima

Morning, all! I'm hanging in just a half pound above onederland. You'd think I'd be able to get rid of that, wouldn't you? That's my goal for now. Nothing big, just a crummy but tough half pound.
Weather suddenly fall-like here and loverly. I'm planning to take a three day "at home" vacation, just going here and there and being lazy (as lazy as I dare be). Want to take advantage of the cooler, less humid stuff before the ragweed locks me inside again. Weeds incredibly large in some parts of garden but I'm only going to pull enough of them that it's "fun". I like it if I don't overdo it. Hope you're enjoying your trip, Joanne. |
Hi everybody.
Mima - glad you finished working. It is nice to have something to occupy your time like that. Meme - As I said before, you are as busy as you want to be. There is that simple little word in the English language known as "NO". Hope your hubby sells lots of trailers. Sounds like a good little business going on there. Candice - good on you, walking 2 miles. I wish I could do that. It seems like I can go good for a couple of days, and then I can't seem to move without a LOT of pain. Have to go to the Dr. next week and find out what is going on with that darn hip. I believe it is OA getting a little worse, but it would be nice to no. Also, will find out the results from the mammogram. Anagram - I will join you next week in a mine holiday at home :) Have had my little grand daughter with me this week. I have been battleing fatigue as well, but can't give into it at all. Just kind of walk around in a daze for half the day. Joanne - I guess you are visiting with your daughter. Have fun. Well, baked cookies today. Chocolate Chip and Raisin Oatmeal. We have a family reunion on Sunday, so I am getting started. Darn, those cookies are soooo good fresh from the oven. Ashley thought so too. Told me I make the BEST chocolate chip cookies ever  Gotta love 'em! Hope everybody is well. Will be back to normal next week. |
I had to make the flyers and have them run off for him ... he didn't have time. Had to get him the shirts, too. He worked all day and then came home, loaded up the trailers and then took them to the fair and set them up and stayed with them until nearly 10 p.m. Then he had to get up and go in to work at 6 the next morning. It's not like he wasn't doing anything! He will have to be up there every night (except Sunday) all next week, too. I may go for a little while tomorrow night ... depends on how I feel. The world class horse show is at 7. Then Mon. night is the gospel singing, I'd kind-of like to go to that, too, if I can get somebody to go with me. Maybe the kids will go and let the little kids go on some of the rides.
I sold 3 trailers this week ... and 2 tires ... kept the tire money as my 'commission' so I wound up with $100 mad money! (That's what I call my commission money ... it's money to do whatever I want to with!) ;) I spend the money I make teaching on clothes, books, having my nails done every 2 weeks, things like that. I think I'll start putting my commissions back for a little vacation around Christmas time. I'll probably be in need of one by then! :p |
Good for you meme. I thought I was going to have today off but word is that the missionaries are coming and their daughter might stay here too. At least we have a twin bed in the house. Somehow that doesn't seem as intimidating if the daughter is around. Maybe it's no deep discussions-who knows. I am going back to work Tues night for 3 days. That is sort of the problem because I won't be home til Friday night. Told Brad he has to keep house clean. Here is some fantastic news. My son called me and he went with his mother in laws significant other to Miami and purcheased a handicap van. 1998 with 9,000 miles because the people only used it to transport thier father to appointments etc. This is the best-Charlie pd 18,000 and Mike the 1,000 and will give him the money from selling their second vehicle, a big van that was used when they had a lot of foster kids. I always thought Charlie was so frugal with his money but......It had a ramp that is powered electrically and then Alison goes up in her wheelchair and get strapped in. She is 14 and a regular teenage girl so they had to lift her in and out-put the wheelchair in the trunk and out again so this will be awesome. I don't think they will have to lift her much anymore because she has a ramp beside her bed that she scoots up on and also can transfer into her wheelchair. And she has the bathtub with the door on it that you open before you fill the tub. Well, that's the news. I still want to go to your fair Meme-especially to hear the gospel singing. Mima
