Here is a new thread cause I can't get into the other one too long!
It made my arm worse..just like I thought it would!!!!!! What a bummer!!!!! The test was painful but tolorable...Just when my arm was feeling better and I thought I could work in the yard...This dumb test mad it much worse! I tired to explain this to all the doctors involed but they kept saying the test is no big deal and it should not make you worse....well I feel stupid for listening to them cause it is hurting big time! I just hope it settles down some and everywhere they zapped me or stuck a needle I am in pain big time! I even feel nausiated(sp) right now so I should go take some tylenol and try to rest I guess. I'm sure the test was normal cause the doc kept saying everything looks fine..my doc will have the repot in a few days. I knew it was just an inflamation in the joint.....but I don't have a medical degree so I don't count! I'm so mad at myself for letting them talk me into this! Plus it was over a 1000 dollars..we have 500 deductable. Hope they pay.....they better..... I go for a Bone Density Thursday..hope I feel good enough ....This is my 4th one..we are trying to build my bones up without meds..just exercise and calcium. Hope that worked....I'm gonna be more upset if they are still losing calcium! It's hurting big time so I gotta quit typing..I'll try to read your other posts later!:) |
Happy Birthday Candice
hope your day is going well. That test sounds like it was uncomfortable for you. Hope your arm is feeling better tonight. Just wanted to wish you a happy birthday and hope you have a wonderful, painfree day.

Stormy here!
Always does that on my BD!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Anne..thats cute! I don't know where you find all your cute graphics:?: Well the boys are bringing home supper from a resturant and DH is getting the cake. I have points banked if I need them.......so I think I will be ok. I hit a new goal today...40 ponds gone and can wear a size 12 and some 10's...1982 was the last time I was this weight! It just makes me want to eat right all the time!!!!!!!! (and of course exercise when I can):smug: My arm is feeling better today..boy did it ever hurt.scared me thinking I might not beable to get in the yard soon. I bought some pansies to put in my pots...do that every spring, they will last untill the end of June. Things are blooming here so pretty but then we get a bad storm and it kills everything! Happens around my BD or Mother's Day every year! No new computer..my son says he is getting a new one this summer and I get his calcium enriched one!(he spilled milk all over it last week). I'm geting a new yard swing cause the one we have is falling apart..I use it all the time! |
Where is everyone gone?
Meme, have you run off the face of the earth with your great speed? Hope you are feeling ok and that the kids are being good for you.
Ally - are your kids out of school this week? Hope you are doing ok as well. Canadice, glad to hear that your arm was improving. I hope you have a wonderful birthday and that swing sounds like a great idea to me. |
Made it through my BD without going over my points!
The boys did come and bring the meal, Chicken, dressing, gravy, green beans, DH brought the cake and DQ and I made the potatoes and the fresh asparagus! It was a good meal and we have left overs...the kids didn't want any to take back they were so full:eek: I just had a tiny piece of cake with a spoon ful of DQ...it was good but really sweet! Not used to that.....but I still have cake left sitting on the counter....looks so good but I know I won't eat unlesss I have the points, just might have to freeze it like the dressing that was left.
Meme must have run off or out of energy! Anne..thanks for the cake..looks so good.....I blew all the candles out too! I'm wishing for.....oh...I can't tell you or it won't come true! No bad storms yet...now they are saying Monday for the worst of it. Windy Saturday, but I might try to work outside if I don't get blown away! My bone density was normal this time so eating better does help!:) Hi Toots..if you ever get on again! |
Hi Guys... ANd happy belated birthday Candice and I do not believe you are over 50.
My son Steve was hit by a car on Thursday on his bike and ended up having to have a steel rod put in the bone in his shin. This was not fun for him or me. We just brought him home from the hospital. Oooops. Beloved just pulled in. That may be the hardest part of this whole thing....the amount of time I had to spend with an Ex. And I had constant reminders of why I cannot stand to be around him. My son has to stay home from school for 2 weeks. Hope we don't have to have a tutor...that would mean I would have to have the house cleaned every day. Oh God. How did your shots turn out ladies...is the pain any better? I have my baggy pants on from LLBean so I feel skinny. That's why I am heading to the store for chicken wings. No cooking for me. |
Hello
Hey Ally, I hope that your son will be ok. How terrible for him and you. Wear the baggy's, go get chicken wings and eat cake!!!! I find cake just such a nice thing to eat when I am really stressed, and I know I would be if it was my son. Actually, my son got hit by a truck when he was 6 yrs. old, and I was a basketcase. All the happened was his thumb was dislocated. Just laying up on top of his hand! Thank God that was all that happened.
Hope you are taking this ok and not starting to hurt extra bad from the stress. Actually, that probably won't happen until tonight. Keep the house clean - your ex might be around more often. Don't let him feel to comfortable(lol) |
hello from New York!!
Hi ladies! I'm in NY City/Forest Hills Queens NY
Have been playing with daughters lap top and was shocked to see the bad news about Ally"s son getting hurt. I hope by this day Sun} everything is okay and both Ally and son are better. That sounds like a nightmare for sure, especially having to put up with old beloved. My family here in NY are pretty good, but couldn't get anybody to drive up to Cooperstown to check up on the log house. My trip here was bad since there was trouble on the air plane and we had to get off in Pittsburgh and change planes. But the good news I was able to upgrade to first class and the seats are so much better than in coach. Still the pain in the right thigh was very bad. It feels more like nerve pain so this week I'll go back to see the rehumi. Candice, was that a nerve velocity test that made your elbow bad? Well here I am again tired and sleepy. My being here may have up set my daughters plans and her beloved asked her to go to his house. It must be fun to be young ! I had the nerve to ask if they are serious and got a lousy answer. He is nice and I hope there are wedding plans for the near future. Sleep is almost here! |
Hi Phyllis. Good to hear from you. Hope you are having yourself a great time, being back in your hometown. Enjoy yourself. All that sitting and a sore thigh to boot doesn't sound very comfortable. Have a good nights sleep.
Hi Candice. Hope you survived working out in your yard. Here it has been windy and cold, so have not been out to much. Next week it is supposed to get to up in the 70's so am looking forward to that. Have a nice weekend. |
I screamed a bit at my son yesterday in frustration and now he thanks me for everything and keeps telling me that he loves me and is sorry for putting me thru this.
I had to wipe his butt in the hosp.! He didn't want that young hot nurse in there with him so I got nominated. This is wierd to be caring so intimately for a child who looks like a man. Today we washed his hair while he sat on the toilet and bent over a basin. And yes, my beloved is here more than I would ever want. I was so polite and so nice to him in the hospital that he thinks he can get that kind of treatment here on my turf. Yeah. Tootie...nice day in NY here today. Happy....I found some even baggier pedal pushers and have myself convinced I have lost ten pounds with all this stress..... I think I have recovered a little of my immune system because I felt no pain til today. Now when I can relax a little......wow. |
quiet in the city
Well just hanging around in my daughters cafe/soda fountain and started to get sleepy so returned to her apt. and play with her lap top again.
Brothers are well and have the usual complaints; daughter is in the midst of buying new equipment to make home made ice cream. right now she carries the Cadilac of ice creams used at the Plaza hotel:SEDUTTO ice cream which has the highest and dense butterfat content. met a few people I haven't seen in years. Happy, this is not really my old neighborhood. I lived in the capital district{Albany/Schenectady area} But catching up on visiting all the people that knew my late brother Bob and family. AND NO I DID NOT TASTE ANY ICE CREAM / or?DESSERTS/CAKE/ and to boot I think I've only had 2 meals per day while here. but no scale so no idea what 'a happening. Ally? are you okay? I hope your son is not in pain. Will the steel rod have to remain or will they take it out after the bone heals? Candice I hope your arm gets better. Good job on the bone density test. I thought I was eating good also but Doc said to take caltrate w/vit D and minerals. Mine needed some "work". If what you had was a nerve velosity test, did they say all is well? Meme must be laying low, I didn't see any posts from her. But playing with the lap top doesn't take me to usual bookmarks. syonora:chow: toodle de do; tootie in the city |
Well...I was gone part of the weekend. Went to Nashville and did my "hotel shop" Friday night. Came back last night. I'm so stressed out that I'm literally sick. Sick to my stomach. Throwing up and diarrhea, etc. Can't sleep and eat eat eating. I've LOST 2 1/2 years work...about 400+ pages...on the internet. All my devotions, all my bible study pages, all my background pages, friendship pages and all my midi files are GONE WITH THE WIND. The Go Network, where I had everything, stopped hosting personal pages. They didn't warn me or anything. Just deleted all my stuff without telling me they were going to. So...finding out all that has made me sick...and that is why I haven't been posting anything. Even if I tried, I'll never be able to get everything back like it was. I'm not sure I even want to try!
|
Meme, this has been the week of disasters. You with your website and Ally with her son. How terrible for both of you. All that work!!! Had you gotten any of it moved over to your new website? I know you are stressed but try to relax. You know what the stress is doing to you! You can't do anything about it now, but you can, and I think you will, start over again - because it interests you a great deal.
I suppose you didn't really enjoy the hotel survey much because of all this. Bummer! oh, yes, and Meme, eat lettuce:D Ally, how is your son doing now? As Phyllis asked, will the steel rod come out eventually, or is it permanent? See, now, driving a car may not have been as dangerous! (At the risk of you jumping through the computer and strangling me) Candice - How are you doing? Size 10-12. I was there only 6 short years ago. Seems like a lifetime ago. Phyllis - keep having fun. Talk to you when you return. |
OH MY I MISS A DAY AN YOU GALS ARE A MESS!
Ally...sorry about your son...I would be so stressed!!!! Know what youmean about taking care of him and being like a man...my son was in the hospital with kidney stones at 14 and I had to help him with the urinal and at age 19 he had sinus surgery and I was helping him in the hospital then too! They will always be our babies though!!!
MeMe.....calm down...I know, I know..I would be freaking out just like you! But Anne is right ya know! Wonder why they didn't give you notice????????? Tootie..sounds like you are having a good time....my test was on the muscles and nerves and I don't have the results but the doc doing it kept saying everything looks normal. I'm sure it well be..just an inflammed joint causing the pain(if I could smoke a joint I would be feelin' real good!:)! (supposed to help Fibro Pain) Anne..love the blue hair and red shoes! You find the cutiest graphics! You always have good advice for us but is hard to take sometimes......I'm just a natural born worrier and that page on worry you sent I couldn't get it to come up. Well...I was feeling so good Saturday that my son came up to help me with some outside yard work(prunning our honeysuckles that the snowplow just about ruined dumping all that snow on them!) that I over did and was so totaly pooped and in pain that I sat in my recliner the whole evening and feel asleep! We worked for 3 hours straight! Whew glad that's done...now we have to redo a flower bed that the plow messed up...I just redid it last year so it wouldn't be any work this year..all I had to do was plant some annuals and that would be it! Now we have to replace the whole thing! Of course I over did my arm too and it is hurting again so I'll have to let it rest a few days I guess. Still didn't get my pansies potted and that is what I like to do and can do it on my own so when my son comes to help, we tackle the big stuff that I can't do alone! He moves kind of slow and lets me do too much but I am gratefull for any help I can get!:) Gonna rain some more....I need to clean inside some too! |
Oh Meme...I know how important all that work was and I feel bad for you.
My son's steel rod might never have to come out...for his sake I hope not as I imagine that might be painful. I just had the old beloved here and walked out with my other son to let him drive my car. Eeeeeek. Either I have a kid on a bike, or in a car and this is just too nerve racking. When I got home, my son and his father were in a terrible little tiff. My son has no tolerance right now. I try to leave him be and keep the conversing to a minimum. His father is one of those people who can't let there be a moment of silence even if he is repeating something he has told you a million times. He just walked out if a huff. Tootie....is it hot where you are? 85 degrees here today. And it snowed last week. Candice....Yeah, I have even wiped my son's butt a few times in the last few days. Not as cute as it used to be. Happy... I ordered another pair of these baggy pants from LL Bean.... At least I feel thin, |
Hi All
Ally under the circumstances, sick kid, ex husband around, buy lots of baggy pants and feel as good as you can. I hope your son is starting to feel better - that will make your life easier. It's scary when you see your babies drive away in a car. Not a real nice feeling, but on the other hand, they have to grow up, because we REALLY, REALLY think we want them to. Hang in there girl!
Candice - the yard doesn't have to be cleaned up all in one week (lol) You have the whole month + at least here you do. NObody plants anything before the end of May. It can still freeze at night until then. They do dig, but first have to wait for the frost to get out of the ground. Don't think it is all gone yet! Watered all the shrubs and trees on Sunday. We have not had a drop of rain this spring - yet and it looks like not is one the way. The ditches are empty and the swamps on the farm land are dry. We NEED a good 3 day rain and hot weather. Today is cloudy and windy, but it is 70 above. Anyway, just take it slow and easy and save your arm. I went to Chiro today and was complaining yet again about my arm. This time he adjusted my shoulder and the pain is gone at this moment. See, you never know whether it is FM or something else!! Meme - Come back and talk to us. I know you are feeling really down and nobody can blame you, but girl, you have to get out of the funk. Come talk to us. And keep eating lettuce!!! Phyllis - You should be back home sometime today. Hope your trip was everything you wanted it to be. Let us know as soon as you can. Hope you are not is pain after the trip. |
Just want to lay down and DIE!
What's going to happen next??? Ross (4 yr. old) got KICKED OUT OF PRESCHOOL today. I'm ready to get the _____ out of Dodge! He is the one I was going to start keeping in a month or so but... The director called my daughter at work this morning and asked if she could come in about 1. She went and was told that Ross had stuck a pencil in a little girl's chest. Seems the girl was told to take up pencils but Ross wasn't finished with his work. So when she tried to take it away from him he stuck her with it! Typical 4 year old work (to me anyway). So they told his mom that the preschool policy was when the child had "behavior" problems and the parents didn't do anything about it ... His mom said what are you telling me...that you want me to pull him out. She said "well not right this minute...he's laying down for nap right now." So my daughter said, "too bad, he's not staying here another minute." She got him up and left with him without even putting his shoes on him! I felt so bad for her. Ross had hit a couple of the other kids (boys) a few times but that has been over a period of about 6 months and they had always done something to him first and that is the extent of his "behavior problems!" He's not one to just sit by and let another kid do something to him without retaliation. And then he won't stick up for himself and tell what happened to his teacher so he always gets in trouble. My hubby has talked to him a lot about that. He's told him over and over that when another kid hits him to go tell the teacher and not do anything back and that way he won't get in trouble. It works for a little while and then (typical 4 yr. old) he forgets and hits back and gets in trouble. This preschool is at our church but I said if they can't control a FOUR year old they need to just close their doors!!! My daugher and hubby say they are not going back to church there, ever! I hate that we've lost them sooo bad! We sang together and everything. I'm going to miss them! I want to quit too but hubby doesn't. Don't know what I'm going to do. Our poor pastor is soooo boring. I nearly go to sleep during every sermon (if you can call his "talks" that!) I have a couple of other "issues" to deal with there constantly, too and now this! Add this to losing 2 1/2 years accumulation of work and picking up a 4 year old everyday on top of the 2 year old and 12 piano students I already have and you have one stressed out person!
|
Oh my gals and I'm still tired!
Anne....I can get stuff in pots and keep them in the garage untill warmer and we plant around the 2nd week in May ( bedding plants) but do the garden earlier and cover stuff with milk jugs. My son has to help me hand till and amend the soil before we can plant this year..I do all the planting here, he just tills and lifts the bags of dirt!
Got my pansies potted today and some perenials replaced. But I have no energy and this darn arm..went to lift stuff in the garage and just didn't have the strength!:( Ally..Your DH sounds terrible...:eek:hope your son gets better fast! Meme......poor Meme....when it rains it pours!:(Did you have anything on back up disk or can you not do that with a site? DH says if we can find a really cheap computer he will buy it so my son is looking at Best Buy at the emachine brand, out dated ones. He said it would have more space and be a lot faster than this one but wouldn't have a lot of programs on it. What ya think about it? Does a cheap one last about 3 years...there is no way he will buy me another Gateway or anything expensive ( over 600.00) Then I have to start all over and learn stuff again! Not sure what to do:?: We have a white male stray cat hanging around here..it's friendly..so we think someone dumped it..we have four and don't want another..not sure what to do with it............it's all scratched up and looks a mess! Don't want it fighting with our tame cats! massage today if I have enough energy to get there! |
I have some of the stuff I lost on backup discs but it is all scattered out amongst my hard drive, 3 1/2 floppys and my zip drive so it will take me forever to get it all together again. It will never be back like it was before, though and some of it I don't even have!
An older, outdated model computer will be just fine as long as it still has a warrenty with it. And as for not having "as much stuff" on it sometimes you are better off if it doesn't have as much stuff! That way you can put on it what YOU want instead of what the manufacturer thinks you need! Just about all computers come with some form of windows on them and personally I think I like windows 95 or 98 better than the new one that's out now, anyway. My son in law says I just like what I'm used to and he's probably right (God I hate saying that!!!). Guess I'm just old and "sot in me ways"!!! If I were you and could get a new computer, even an outdated one, I'd go for it...especially if it has a lot more room where you could put IE and a few other programs on it. There shouldn't be much new to learn, either. I'm sure you already have windows and the new one will, too. Just DON'T GET A MAC!!! They are a pain and not compatible with ANYTHING else! Now that I am keeping Ross, too, I will be able to get my notebook computer a lot sooner than I thought. I'm taking two trips and will need quite a bit for them (I'm going alone so will have to pay for everything with my own money...including my rooms.) I'm going to Nashville the 4-7. I have Drs. apps. on Friday and on Monday so I'm just going to go down and stay. I have a suite near Opry Mills (which used to be Opry Land). There is a heated indoor pool there, too. Then I'm going to NC the middle of June to visit relatives and go the decoration where my brother and grandparents are buried. I've found a hotel not too far away from where I'm going there that has a heated indoor pool, too. (I love to swim!) I'll be gone 4 days then, too. I'm hoping and praying that my Mom decides not to go with me on that one. I told her she would have to get a room of her own and she's not liking that...they are kind of expensive...so maybe she won't go!!! I just got another "bank job" today. On this one all I have to do is go to my bank and purchase a couple of travelers checks. Then go to a Regions bank in Cookeville, go inside and cash them. It pays $20 and I can do it anytime I'm in Cookeville. About 10 minutes work altogether...not bad money, huh? They asked me about Nashville and Knoxville. I told them the dates I would be going through Knoxville and that I would be staying in Nashville in the next 2 months and they said they might have something for me to do then, too! I'm really liking this Mystery Shopping!!! |
Oh Meme, my kids got kicked out of a YMCA summer program one at a time. They threw some boy's underwear over the lockers and immediately kicked out boy number one. said that they would try one alone. Then a week later they said that the other one would not choose a partner for a hike and they just didn't have the staff to deal with this.
What a terrible experience for you and your family. And it just makes it tough on you. Oh.....I am experiencing some real residual stress. So tired and Soo hungry. I want sugar so bad. I hope to get thru this without gaining any weight. |
Ally...I hope you do too...but I KNOW I'm not going to! I'm not craving sugar, though, I'm craving carbs and salt. I remember when my son was a teenager and almost died from a ruptured appendix. I stayed at the hospital with him day and night for nearly a week and then had to wait on him hand and foot for another 2 weeks at home. I didn't think I was going to make it. But...I did. Then when he got older he had a polynoidial (sp) cyst on his tail bone and had to have it removed. The Dr. left a huge hole that had to heal from the inside out. Once again I stayed with him in the hospital and then took care of him at home, packing the "hole" with saline gauze twice a day, etc. He couldn't do anything at all for over a month. I made it through that, too. You WILL make it Ally...it is not easy being a mother. And it doesn't get any better as they get older, either!!! I think they just get more demanding...at least my 2 seem to have anyway. I thought they would never get married and move out but then when they did they just became TWO people needing me and then three and now four for a total of EIGHT!!! And believe it or not, daughters are more "needy" than sons!
But WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT THEM??? I don't know but I'd like to try for a few weeks (not permanently, though)! |
I'll bet Candice wishes she hadn't encouraged me to "come back and talk" now!!!
   |
I have a new PC!!!!!!!!!
I got up feeling fatigued and hurting so I cancelled my massage again and tried to rest but that darn stray cat kept howling at my cats through the windows!
When my son got here he said you have a new computer....Best Buy had one of the cheap specials left so my DH got it and got a 3 year warrenty! Hope they do what they say. My son was here all day getting things hooked up and trying to download stuff....ICQ we are having a problem with, but he said he would keep trying when ever he is here. AOL IM would not let us up grade either......but he got Yahoo Im to work( that is what he contacts me on) I'm using IE too! Nice to see all the posts on one page!:) Meme...there are more programs on this than my old one...since my son deleted most of them for space..but I don't know what they are for!LOL It will take me awhile to get used to the new windows 2000. I just don't like change at first and I still have to copy my old files and bring them over here. Do you think I should put my graphics on the hard drive or just keep them on the floppy? I'm new to all this stuff...I did get my Netscape email address book set up and all my sites logged in..still need to update my bookmarks too. Hope to be in the yard today...it's gonna be nice! We hooked the old puter up too and it is right next to me so I can get my files! If I need to go on the net(on the old one) all I have to do is shut the new one down and hook the phone line to the old one!:smug: |
Hey Candice, that is great. A new computer. See how much your hubby loves you! He must know how much it meant to you to get a new one. I don't have windows 2000, I have windows 98+. Hope you are feeling better. Spring is such a beautiful time of year. The lake is breaking up, but the ice probably won't be gone before the end of April or the 1st part of May. The part that is open has tons of gulls and ducks swimming away. They all look so funny, because the shore is all sand, and they are all standing on the edge of the ice.
Meme - glad to hear that you are sounding more like your old self. I am glad you decided to come back and talk to us. I think that Mystery Shopper sounds like a great thing. I think you are right. Our children will always be just that, and yes, girls seem to be more 'needy' than boys; but then, I think the responsiblilties lie a bit differently for them. Men earn the money to support the family and women do every thing else(lol). Ally - I knew you would be exhausted after a couple of days. When things happen, we all just do whatever is necessary. Don't even realize that we are overdoing or anything. Just has to get done and you have to do it! Then after the immediate crisis is over - bang, flat on our faces. Total exhaustion and pain - I notice they go hand in hand! Take care, girl. Things will get better. Phyllis - It is time to hear from you now! You must be back home by now. Drop a line and let us know how you are. Hope you all have a great sunshiny day. |
Just popping in.............
Anne you live on a lake.....how nice:) Hubby says I better enjoy this one cause it is the last one he will buy! If it was not so cheap he would have never gotton it!
Meme......tell me how to make pictures(graphics smaller) I can't figure it out! Ally...how are you doing? Toots......Ya have a good trip and I don't mean falling down! This is hard to get used to.. I like my old computer and windows 95 like Meme! But this thing runs smoother! I like having more hard drive space and the net is faster! Oh and I can use IE to get on this site! |
Candice...I'm so glad you got a new computer!!! You'll learn all the new stuff in no time! I would probably just leave my clipart on discs if that is where they are now unless it is just something that you use a lot. As for making your graphics smaller or larger, you have to have a program that will allow you to "resize" or "crop" them.
I just got a $1300 notebook HP computer for $625 at ubid.com. I'm so excited. I've wanted one forever. It has 5 MG on the harddrive, CD Rom, 3.5 floppy and 450 MHz speed. It has Windows ME on it...don't know how I'm going to like that! I've never bid on anything like that and I was so nervous!!! It was 2 a.m. before I could get wound down enough to go to bed! I hope I get it before next Friday so I can take it with me to Nashville. I don't know how I'm going to get it hooked up to the internet. I'm on a cable modem! I'm thinking about just getting an account with a local phone line server for the summer. That way I can have it outside and work while the kiddies play. Then I can have the service turned off when it gets cold. I don't really need to have the laptop hooked up to the net when I'm inside. I just really hate having to tie up my phone line again. I like having it free all the time! I can actually build my web pages back in word pad and not HAVE to be on the net...but I can't see the graphics if I do that (that is IF I decide to build my web pages back!!! Hubby told me the other night that he didn't know if he'd have the "guts" to do that or not and I don't know if I have the determination to, either!!! Oh well...guess I'll figure it out! Anyway...Candice, I'm glad you got your puter! What kind did you get and how much space does it have on the harddrive? Do you have Windows ME? I'm beginning to get used to IE and I think I like it better than Netscape. Hope everyone else is doing ok...I miss Phyllis!!! Ally? Hanging on??? Hey Anne, I can send you some place to apply for mystery shopping if you want!!! :D: I watched Charlies Angels last night while I was waiting for the auction to close...pretty good movie but I liked the old series better. |
Well, Meme you are sounding better and maybe your new toy will help.
Tell me.....does your son remember this care you gave him? I have heard Steve tell others that this is very hard on me and I have to do everything for him but I wonder if that will be wiped out of his memory bank as soon as he is up and about. He is sleeping on my bed right now cause it is higher and firmer. He said that we could both sleep in there tonight....but that might be too close for comfort for me. Not that I want to sleep in his bunk bed. He got pretty stinky and I had to sit him on the toilet and pour water over him. Candice...a new computer. How nice. This one has Windows 2000 and it took me a little while to get used to it, but you and Meme are whizzes. You'll have this figured out in no time. Happy.......How is your weight doing? I got a fish fry tonight. I deserve it. I was STARVED in the store and bought a huge bag of popcorn. I think I am like Meme in that I am heading for salt instead of sugar. Tootie.....How is NY. This is nice weather and should be nice for the weekend. I am going to clean up my kid and take him to a store where they have electric wheel chairs. He'll probably do a little damage to the store but it'll be a nice outing for me. Beloved is here. (arrrrrrrrrgh) I've had enough of him. The guy who hit my son's insurance co called today. He will get a settlement out of this. I don't want hubby to know....he will drive me nuts with questions. |
lost a ton of posts
I'm too angry to repeat myself
But Ally very important to get advice form a lawyer about youe son's accident. In 1987 when I got injured in a car crash, I made too many mistakes and did not recover financially what I lost physically. Don't sign a release until you are sure it's adequate. especially if an insurance company wants to settle right away.Trust me! You may be entitled to compensation for yourself, for added burden, housework, mental anguish etc. Don't worry about beloved, he can't do anything about the litigation. hope I can sq this away. sleep tigt ladies. |
All I know is it was cheap!
Dh would not have gotten it if it wasn't and we got a 3year extended warrenty that even covers power surges since we have that problem all the time! It says it is 15 GB Hard drive and yes it has Windows ME. IE and Netscape were both on here and my son signed me up under Netscape for our email since I am used to that but I use IE to come here. Meme... Why do you like IE better than Netscape?
Meme........sounds like you got a good deal!!!!!!:) What kind of program do you need for cropping or sizing??? I don't know any of this stuff!!!!!!!!!! Ally......I think they do forget or just think we are their mom's and that is our job! I am not a whiz at anything!LOL Meme is the computer expert! Toots...glad to see you are back but sorry to hear you are still having trouble posting:( |
Tootie....thanks for the advice. I too was injured in an accident and I settled even before the cast was off my arm and stitches out of my face because they said they felt I could return to work and I was scared to death. So I settled and then a few years later mentioned this to an attorney who got the whole thing overturned by alleging fraud (they told me NOT to get an attorney).
So, when the insurance lady called she said that she would be talking to witnesses etc as to whether or not my son showed disregard for his health or safety in crossing the intersection before making a settlement offer. I said, "well, show me your offer and I will have my attorney advise me as to whether or not it is satisfactory". She said "well, once your attorney is involved we can no longer talk". I said that might be a good thing. Candice.....I think computers are getting cheaper and cheaper. I still have an old Apple in boxes and think my brother who bought it paid as much for that as for this Dell. I just lost a wonderful post to my sister-in-law so know how frustrated Tootie feels. I haven't lost many here tho. |
Next time any of you are in the market for a computer (or anything else for that matter) you really need to check out www.ubid.com They have some awesome bargains on there. After I get my new laptop and my porch paid for I'm going to start watching their site for a movie camera...I've been wanting one of those forever...and a personal CD player, too. I love going in there but I think it might could be addictive!!!
I have a migraine AGAIN today and have to go to my grandson's BD party. I can't believe he is 6 already. He's the oldest of the 4 (and probably the meanest!!!) |
Oh No...I made it go to page 2!!!!!!!

4 hours in the yard!
We got that flower bed redone and some other stuff but still have the garden soil to get ready before I can plant anything! I'm not sure how much longer I can do this kind of work....This old body just can't take it:eek: even 40 pounds lighter! I'm still feeling weak and the legs are so shaky from squating so much..I usually use a small seat with wheels but didn't today.
Ally...What's a DEll???????? Meme....Ubid...is it uesd stuff or new stuff or both? Get rid of that headache..I had a terrible one last night from my neck..I tried some new arm exercises in the WW magazine..they always hurt my neck..everything hurts my neck and them I get a headache! You can set your pages to go to 40 buy going into profiles and then edit options, then you don't have to turn it! But over 30 gets kinda long too! |
A lot of it is Refurbished stuff, some of it is new but there is hardly anything on there that is used like at ebay. My son-in-law got his whole computer system there, he says he'd rather have referbished stuff because it has been back through the manufacturer and gone over so they know there is nothing wrong with it. It all still has the same warrenty as new, too. I just bid on an All-in-one Compaq Printer-Copier-Fax Machine, a $299 system, and got it for $99. It is supposed to print photo quality color copies. I'm bidding on a personal CD player right now. It is a $169 CD player with head phones and the bid just went to $19. It still has 2 hrs. bidding time left on it though so I'm sure it will go higher. I will go to about $29 and stop if it goes higher than that. I'd like to have one but I'll just keep checking back and bid on another one when there are not so many people in there bidding. That is when you find the bargains...in the wee hours of the morning when most intelligent (painfree) people are asleep!!!
