I don't know if any of you have heard of these shoes, but my uncle bought a pair and loves them. His knees are feeling so much better and he has had a couple of surgeries on them. Thought I would pass this on, just in case someone was interested. They are expensive, but if they help, they aren't so bad. If your insurance covers othepedic shoes, you can get the Dr. to prescribe them and have the insurance pay for them.
Please remember that as funny as they look, people who wear then are not laughing - at least not at how funny they look. RELIEF is the word here. http://www.lieberson.com/whatis/zcoil.html |
Joanne, good going on losing that 1/2 pound. That is great and so hard to do when you are nearing the end. I want to wish you a happy birthday as well. Glad it was good. Always take gifts
|
I'd fall and kill myself if I wore a pair of those! Either that or wind up in a tree somewhere!!!
|
Happy Happy Birthday, Joanne!
You give me HOPE!!! (I know I'll never make it to your age, though! If the arthritis and fibro doesn't kill me my family will!) |
Happy Birthday Joanne and congratulations on a half pound-it is significant. Brad put in an air conditioner-it works great. He is also going to put heat strips in the bedroom for nect winter. At night, it doesn't get too cold anymore. Hope you are getting better Meme. My feet, ribs, back have been so much better since Tai Chi-especially my ribs. Going to Red Sox game tomorrow. Be good everyone. Mima

Hey There
I saw those shoes at Burdines. The first thought was that I would break my neck if I wore them. I am glad though that some people can and do get relief.
It is another day to get things done..so bye for now...Joanne |
Joanne I just got to look at those shoes !!!!!!!!!!will try anything if it helps also congrat on your weight loss hope it keeps going that way for you and Happy Birthday and many more everyone else haVE a great day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rita
|
Of course you won't kill yourselves. When you stand on them, the heel goes down level with the sole. It gives a spring when you walk, taking the pressure of the joints. My uncle got a pair of them a couple of weeks a go and swears by them. He has had two knee surgeries and still had a lot of pain. He also has a very bad heart so I think another surgery is out of the question. He is 75, so if he can wear them comfortably, you probably can to. Iknow they look weird, but I sure am going to go try a pair and see what happens with my back. You can try them for two weeks and see if you like them. If not, you can return them.

Hello everybody!!!! This is the FIRST time I could log on and not get shut down by ads. I have added new anti spam and pop up ad stuff but for some reason one particular ad comes up just as the screen for 3fatchicks is about to pop up and then I am done. Have to shut down.
I snuck on today and just wanted to say Hello to all. I am about to go low carb for the tenth time since Christmas. Wish I could stick with this. The guy I am seeing just got diagnosed with diabetes so I think we should both try to stick to a program. If the weather would stay warm I could walk some of my winter flab off. My kids are still out of the house, one asked to come home and instead he let me pay his rent for a month. Isn't that awful? Now that I have had a taste of freedom, I don't want to give it up. Hope you are all well. If I can't get this figured out, I will check in from work. Just gotta find my darn log in password!!! |
HI! everyone hopeing that everyone has a great Sunday!!!!!! Ally I know how you feel in likeing your freedomfrom kidsLOL Rita

re
Happy BD Joanne...ment to post that last time! :hat: :hb: :gift:
Glad you liked the fudge, I still have my friends fudge in the freezer, they can't seem to make time for our gettogether. Do you like that PB rice kripie bar with choc butterscotch topping? I love those!!!!!!!!!!! :D |
I am so bloated from too much salt, we do not use any table salt and when I get in packaged food I just hang on to it all!
Haven't given into the sugar thing yet, but wanting it more and more, that is why I do not usually limit myself , anything and everything in moderation I think is the key. I'm trying to wait untill I show a loss before I start back up. I do not think doing without sugar stops my cravings but makes me want it more, just have to learn to limit my cookies! Happy those shoes look promising, but do you know if they hold orthotics, I have to use mine in all my shoes except my Birks. When my hips hurt really bad my mind visualizes a shoe with a big chusioned heel! How much are they? Why can't they put that spring on the inside so they do not look so weird! |
DH needs a new coffe make, any suggestions....something cheap! He does not drink more than a few cups aday.
How do you all feel about juicers???????????? Are they worth the money? |
We bought a Black and Decker in Walmart-$20-it pauses if the coffee is not done and you can program it-love it even more than the $100 one from Sears my son bought us last Christmas-don't tell him that. Hi Ally!!!!!!I have gotten shut down by the popups-infuriarating !!! Are you still in love-sounds it .We have missed you. Please keep in touch. Did you have a vacation in Fl? Now we have to find Anagram . Ally, I met Joanne for lunch-it was great!!! Bye for now Mima
|
Hi Candice. I don't know the answer to your questions about the shoes. However, today I will see them. I sure don't see why you could wear the orth thingys. We have the Braun, no timer. It is about $29.00 here, so it would be much cheaper for you. It makes the best darn coffee. I have had $100.00 pots as well, and the timer was not something hubby wanted. He gets up, gets his coffee going and when he is ready for breakfast, the coffee is ready for him.
Ally - nice to see you back. That ad that pops up when we first come on here isn't caught by the pop-up stopper. I wonder why not?? It is nice to have the problems of kids gone (the minor everyday things). Do the boys live together? |
Hey There
It is nice when the kids go off on there own. No more wondering what time they will come in and we can go to sleep. And then they want to come home. and it starts all over again. It is even harder then. Been there and done that many times. They have developed their own ways of doing things and feel that nothing should change..
I will be getting ready for my trip to Az. this week. My daughter and I are going to visit my brother. She has never been out west and this will be a thrill for her. I was there a couple years ago and we went to the Grand Canyon. He says we will do it again if the weather is good. We will only be out there a week but that is OK. It has been a quiet weekend. I ate wrong but I guess I can't be good all the time. Being good hasn't done that much good anyhow.. Hello Everybody...Joanne |
I thought there might be some good coffee makes out there around 20, was looking on ebay for a hunter green onew , that was the color we had, the pots are cheap but the shipping is high. DH wants something something samll on the counter, says the big one gets in the way.
Hi Alley, did you kick your kids out? DS just got home for break and I can't get used to having someone else around! |
Good morning-it's going to rain so we have to move the bd party to Mike's house and carry the grille and food there-not a big deal-Mike and I had a good time at the red sox game-then we stayed for dinner. I didn't sleep well last night-forgot to take my med-oh well. Have a god day Mima
|
ALLY!!!
Good to 'see' you again... been missin' ya!!! Candice ... where you been? Ally's boys have been gone for a while now! Guess they left while you were nappin'! We bought a Black and Decker coffee maker for about $39 that we like ... it goes up under the cabinets ... we don't like stuff sitting around on the counter either. It also has the automatic shutoff so you can sneak a cup before the coffee is done ... I like that. Want to hear something freaky. I was cleaning out my medicine cabinet and came across the same medicine that made me so sick ... bottle of 20 with 10 gone ... perscribed just 18 months ago. Evidently it didn't make me sick then. So I called the Dr. office and asked them about it. The nurse said sure I could get an allergic reaction to it 18 months later but not the first time. Then she started asking me a bunch of questions. Turns out she thinks I have gallbladder problems and wants me to come in and see the Dr. She thinks he will order an untra sound. So ... long story short, I may be having my gallbladder out! For several years now I've had a problem with greasy foods and I've also had instances where I've had hot clear liquid (bile I suppose) boil up in my mouth for no apparent reason so I'd say she's probably right. I have an appointment for a week from Wednesday. Just one more thing!!! I'm always wondering ... what's next! |
My girlfriend had her gallbladder out , Meme, and came home the same day.Just a little incision. Mike's bd was nice-too many outings-I need to be good again and today I am going to a friend"s for lunch. She eats healthy so I will be ok. Muggy and rainy today so it is a good day to visit. Ally, my son came home after he graduated from Culinary school-I couldn't wait til he left. Also, the only way I would have gotten middle son out was to sell the house-he was upset but now he has his own house. Daughter wanted to lweave but she stayed with me for 4 months after college-not good. Once they leave, they have their own way of doing things. LOL Bye Mima-oh Joanne, what a great trip!!!Have fun. I have never been out west either but Brad and I keep talking about it. Are you busy packing, Anne?
|
Where is everybody???
|
Hi Meme. Gosh you didn't have much to say now, did you? I guess you don't want to talk "nobody".
I am busy trying to get the energy to pack up this house. Moving on the 31. Haven't been very ambitious, that is for sure. This darn fatigue seems to have me under it's grip!!! I hope you are feeling better and are gradually getting back into the land of the living. I don't know where everybody is either! Maybe Mima is busy packing up to come home as well. We haven't heard from Anagram, but then, she probably doesn't have a computer with her, but she should be back pretty soon as well. Candice - are you being good, and not eating cookies and NOT playing in the garden? Maybe your son will help you since he is home this week. I think Joanne has gone to visit her brother, but I am not sure. |
I know what you mean about the fatigue ... live with it every single day of my life. When your blood count is as low as mine you don't even feel like moving off the couch let alone out of your house!!!
I got the result back from the MRI I had on my ankle ... OVER THREE WEEKS AGO ... about 5 p.m. today. They said I had inflamation in the ankle AND in the top of my foot and that was the GOOD news ... because while that could possibly get better the BAD news is ... it also showed cartilage loss in the ankle and that 'ain't' comin' back! So I have rheumatoid AND osteoarthritis both in that ankle. |
Now that's not fun Meme-daughter, 25, is still having trouble with foot healing. We are supposed to go to NY for Mother's Day but she can't go if her foot is not healed-she may need surgery. I was wondering where everyone was too. We are not getting ready to go home yet-if Evan is born on the second, we will wait til after Easter. Brad is getting into his trains finally. Going to make a portable layout. I had fried grouper last night! It was good but that's not how I usually eat. Want to swim today-fibro is acting up because of needlework. I tense up. One of our neighbores here had a massive heart attack-it's touch and go right now. I worked for Mike yesterday and I will do so next week. It's so easy and Jill and I talk while we do it. She is so big and it's all baby. That's all the news that's fit to print. I wonder if Joanne is out west now? Anne, I don't envy your packing-one box at a time. Meme-feel better. Mima
|
HI! everyone just popped in to wish everyone a great sunday meme sorry to hear about your results from your ankle boy I guess arthritis just likes to travel everywhere in our bodies doesnt it!!!!!! havent been on much as really have it in my wrist an fingers past couple of daysso my moment is limited so have to save it for workMima hope the swim did help so ladies have a great day !!!!!!!!!! Rita

Hello, I am Joanne's sister Eleni. She made it safely to Arizona and is having a good time visiting our brother. Plus it gives her some alone time with her daughter Debbie.
|
Eleni, thanks for letting us know that Joanne got to Arizona safely. I hope she has a wonderful visit with her family there and a really great visit with her daughter.
|
Hi Eleni-how nice I can picture you when you post-the swim helped and it's Tai Chi today. Really need to exercise my neck and shoulders-have a lot of pain BECAUSE I am eating stuff I am allergic to and I'm in denial. The weather here is gorgeous!!!!!Busy week-Alison's county spelling bee is Thursday!I say a prayer with every word she has to spell!!Don't know if my nerves can take it. I'm glad Joanne arrived safely-Hey Anne, you are going to have a birthday tomorrow!!!Your bio came up on my computer. Happy Birthday a day ahead!! Bye for now Mima
|
Hey, Mima, thanks for the birthday wishes. Soon, I would like to just plain forget about them, but I guess that isn't going to happen. Somebody would always remind me  Oh well, just have to age gracefully, that's all :)
No news on the baby yet? Well, I guess it isn't that far away now. Meme - I hope you are feeling better and that you have slowed down to a crawl. I don't know what they can do for your foot, but I am hoping SOMETHING!!!!! Gosh, if your feet bother you, it seems everything goes wrong. Candice - Is your son gone back now? Haven't heard from you for quite a few days. I hope your pain is lower than it was. Ally - Come out, come out wherever you are!! Rita - Are you back at work now? Those must be some tough days for you and long hours. I am not sure how you do it! I am starting to pack now. Only have a week and a half till we move. Had to go renew my driver's license this morning, as it expired on my birthday. Can't have that happening. They have come out with some kind of new "smartcard" for your driver's license here in Canada, so I will have to wait for 2 weeks for it. In the meantime, I have an interim license. Let's hope I don't have to show any picture ID for the next couple of weeks as I don't have any now. Hope you all have a really nice day. |
Happy Birthday again, Anne. Are you celebrating. Baby is supposed to come April 2 for sure-C section. So far , he doesn't want to come early. Busy week for them this week, Alison is in the County Spelling Bee on Thursday and she will audition for her Performing Arts High School on Sat while we participate in the activities at the park-a parade and picnic. Should be fun!!Bye for now . Mima
|
Good morning Mima. Thanks again for the birthday wishes.
Hope baby decides to come early, but some are just plain stubborn and don't want to get here  Wish Allison the best in her spelling bee. I used to LOVE those when I was in school. They didn't have national spelling bees back then. Just the room participated. I was always the last one standing. Spelling was always easy for me - until the past couple of years. I think it is because I don't work any longer and I don't use a lot of different words everyday. |
Mike Jill and Alison came for dinner last night to eat rubber chicken-when I made it before it was deliscious!!! I don't like cooking for my culinary school son but he was nice. Jill is so big but it doesn't look like she dropped. Doc today!!!Hi everybody. Mima
|
HI! everyone hope that you are having a great wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!work is calling me so I better move Rita
|
Good morning! Tonight is Alison's County spelling bee-we'll see!!!!Baby hasn't dropped-guess he wants his birthday to be April 2. Went to prayer meeting at church and had dinner first for $5 each including salad and dessert and nice people. Then to Beall's wher I bought 3 of my favorite bras on sale. Double support!!!!Ha! Hey Meme, how are you doing. Today my son Bob turns 29 and he is sick with a cold.Bye for now-happy working, Rita. Mima
|
Hi, all. We've been back a while but I'll have to lurk a bit before I feel I'm up to speed on all you've been up to.
Sincer we're back we've had 8 medical appts between us and dh has one more before the end of the month. Still digging out from stuff that gets piled up while you're away, esp. the stuff that was already piled up before we left. Having a flare this week - what more can I say? Supposed to be nice here tomorrow. Maybe that will help. |
Hi Anagram-so nice to hear from you-I am still in FL til the day after Easter so when we get home, I have to do the appts too. Alison made it quite far in the spelling bee-another girl named Allison won and she will go to Washington. I'm sort of glad this is the last year-it's nerve-wracking to watch-stomache acted up. Shipping today-Jill is getting so uncomfortable-one week to go. Big parade and picnic here tomorrow. Hope evryone is well. Mima Tell us about your vacation, Anagram.
