Losing your baby weight, after a C-Section.

Hello everyone,
My best-friend just had a newborn a few months ago. And she's trying to lose weight. The doctors told her it would be extremely hard, and it's proving to be true. Has anyone gone through the same obstacle, any advice or tips for her?

I don't have experience with a c-section, but breast feeding will help her burn more calories. Otherwise, she needs to do all the same things that anyone else that wants to lose weight needs to do: eat at a caloric deficit. Perhaps it will take her a little longer than someone else, but it will happen. The important thing is not to get frustrated and look for a quick fix. For me, losing weight has become easier since I started eating less carbs. Instead of having oatmeal for breakfast, I have eggs. Instead of a burrito for lunch, I have a salad with chicken. Instead of pasta for dinner, I'll have a salad with fish. For a snack, I'll have a Greek yogurt with blueberries. I don't consume any sugar (except for 1 or 2 fruits a day) or anything with flour.

She will probably have to be tougher about her portions than she ever needed to be in the past. Whether that is measuring servings out, counting calories, something black and white. I'm sure the C limits vigorous working out for a while, too.

The breastfeeding thing seems to be split. Some women drop weight like crazy, some have this ravenous appetite the entire time that they nurse!

I've had two C-sections. You have to be careful working out (pretty much nothing for 6 weeks), but aside from that, it doesn't really change anything. She'll come home from the hospital heavy from fluids and such, but that should go away in 3-4 weeks.
