Default Medifast and fruit question

I'm curious about the medifast and fruit issue. I have been on the diet for about 3 weeks and think the diet is messing with my body a little. I think I need more healthy whole foods. I have lost 14 lbs so far which I am pleased about.

If I eat a fruit...in a limited portion, and the carbs from the fruit are fewer than say the carbs from a snack bar I would have eaten on the plan...then what is the real difference to my body?

For example for breakfast I would like 1/4 of a cup of low fat Greek yogurt and 1/2 a cup of fresh blueberries.
