Hi Guys....Brain fog...I've forgotten all your zippy names and what you were talking about. Oh yeah...I'm a C...definitely. But it is hard to change. Meme...all that cooking. You are a good and generous person.

Couldn't post last nite cause my beloved was here against my will and without my approval while my 15 year old son tried to find a hotel they can stay at NEXT WEEK in Killington Vermont. This kind of last minute planning drives me nuts. I hate to see them packed up and ready to leave knowing they have nothing arranged, yet I need the break sooooo bad.

I lost 5 lbs on the soup diet. Almost wish I hadn't so I could abandon this one too. OF course eating soup consisting of chicken stock and a few veggies is going to produce weight loss. But, I am also tired and irritated and miserable and HUNGRY.
Here's my secret to this one tho. I eat only soup at lunch and dinner and let myself have a big serving of a snack kind of thing at nite...like popcorn, or pretzels or trail mix. ANd I try to keep myself from eating that as long as possible.
Well, it worked for a week. But it is grueling.
Tootie...your car sounds wonderful.
It was over 60 degrees here in NY today. And tomorrow will be back below freezing. This weather is not kind to us old FM girls.

Happy Canuk 02-10-2001 06:16 AM

Hi all. Well we are getting winter in Alberta. It is going to be 30 below tonight and has been just about as cold as that all day with the windchill factor. We have a little bit of snow as well, but supposed to keep up all weekend. Brrrr :D It is what makes us appreciate spring (lol). The cold doesn't really bother me, it is the humidity. Alberta is dry and cold - even the snow is usually dry, not the heavy wet stuff some of you get.

Candice - I run Norton's Antivirus on my machine, and it has picked up 3 virus's (all the same. From hahaha - snowwhite and the seven dwarfs - the real story.) Scared me to death first time I saw that, but I put it in quarantine and deleted it. The second time, it came twice in a row, so just did it - no problem - ran the live update and virus pro. and all was clear. Don't open anything from people I don't know. Just delete them - thank goodness don't get that many of them.

Well, I am down my 2 pounds for this week - that makes 13, so I am quite happy. Even ate cheesecake this week, so not to bad. The massage therapist told me today that my body felt more toned than usual, so the walking and the few exercises I have been doing, must be helping.

Meme - My goodness, sounds like you were cooking up a storm. Those poor people - always feel sad when I hear about things like that. Realize I am no so bad off. Hope you get a little rest - you sound like a real whirlwind.

Candice - about that test. I am a B, but I still have to finish everything I start. I think most of us are all three at times, but one is more predominant than the other.

Ally - How are you feeling? Better I hope. I hate it when I hurt. Had a Chiro appt. this morning, so got a few tender spots. He finds all the 'hotspots' in the back and presses on them. Not pleasant, but sure feels better after.

Phyllis - Sorry to hear that the arm is giving you pain, but sort of thought it might for a few days, as support is probably not as sturdy as before. Glad you got your car, AND a haircut. You must be feeling great right now.

Well ladies, I had better go make supper.

MemeToo 02-11-2001 11:52 PM

Just a quick note to tell you all I'm sick. Went to the Urgent Care Clinic yesterday and he said the next step to what I have is pneumonia. This crud/cold/whatever thing has gone into my lungs. I took my temp an hour ago and it was 103.4...it did that last night and when I get it down I start having chills. I just went and took a room temp. shower and some tylenol...hope that gets it down some. They gave me a steroid shot and an antibacterial shot and 2 meds. yesterday. This cough has about pulled me in two! The Dr. told me to go home and go straight to bed and stay there. Said this took a week or more to knock and with all the other stuff I have it may take my body longer...oh joy! Anyway...thought you all might miss me...I may not feel like posting again for a few days! This is hard...sitting here now...my body HURTS!

MEME

Ally0306 02-12-2001 01:58 AM

Meme...Take care of yourself. Isn't is just the pits that we feel tolerably rotten on a daily basis and then get something worse on top of it? BUT...I always hope for a severe illness that might make me lose weight. Always have to find the bright side.
Yesterday I went to a game with my son and drank 2 beers in the bar we met in. Then had grapefruit juice on the bus...and I got and still have deadly heartburn.
Get this.....these men I exposed my son to on the bus??? I work with some, one is a principal of a Catholic school. They were without spouses and they were wild and crazy and they gave my 15 year old son and his friend beer and a shot of tequilla. Arrrrrrrgh. Men are children. ANd my child has been on the couch all day. He doesn't know it but he has a hangover.
You got a box lunch on the trip and I could only eat a little potato salad before I got heartburn and couldn't eat any more. Also a good diet technique.
Yes Tootie....this is the infamous Soup Diet. Some use cabbage, I find the smell obnoxious. I use chicken soup stock as the base and just cut up raw veggies and add chicken from a rotisserie chicken I got at the store. Actually it is tasty...but very low in calories. The diet says you eat soup at every meal and raw veggies or fruit. One night you eat a potato, one night brown rice, and on Friday....STEAK. It is a fad diet...cutting calories dangerously. But I want to see some weight come off.
I would like to use the ZONE for keeping off pounds, but I wasn't losing any on it.
Hope you all had a nice weekend...cept for Meme who hopefully is in bed.

Candicej 02-13-2001 07:48 AM

Got my outside Christmas Decorations down..the ground thawed just enough to pull the candy canes and flowers out! I still have my snowmen out in the living room..I like looking at them but will put them away soon...when the mood strikes me!LOL

Meme...ohhhhh you poor thing...I ache just thinking of you...I fever makes me hurt so bad I just want to die! Luck this year so far!!!!!

Anne....So you are getting some cold..hope you can stay warm up there! :) Your weigh of eating really seems to be working for you! Keep it up that is what it is all about!

Ally..your weigh of eating doesn't sound very healthy to me..but if it works and you can keep it off then you go girl! Do you feel better on this program???????

Candice~the late night owl~

Happy Canuk 02-13-2001 08:27 PM

Hello fibrogals. How are you all doing? It is really very cold here - about 20 below zero. Just a tad cool, but a least no wind and no snow. Supposed to warm up tomorrow and have some snow, so I will be hurting. My right arm and shoulder have been giving me trouble this week, and the rest of me just feels like well, flu-like, I guess. Just achy.

Candice - good for you getting in your Christmas stuff. It was so warm here in January that we got ours down just after the New Year. Usually that doesn't get done until the spring (lights that is). How are you feeling these days?

Meme - Hope you are feeling better. I suppose it is going to take a while. Nothing like being sick, to make the FM flare up as well, and laying around hurts the arthritis, so this is a nowin situation all around!

Ally - That diet sounds terrible. If you don't enough food, your body begins to think it is starving and will go into that mode and lower the metabolism even more. I am still doing well on The Formula - I get to eat lots and as long as it is balanced the insulin stays level (no surges) and you lose weight. I can go on the second part of the diet, which allows more high glycemic foods, like pasta, rice and potatoes etc., but weight loss will be a little slower, so will stick with the one I have been doing. It is easy and it is just normal food.

Phyllis - You must be loving that car :D I guess it is your freedom. How are you feeling now after babysitting? I sure hope better.

Well I have to go get ready to go walking. After that I want to go into Red Deer and get some groceries (cheaper there than at the lake, that is for sure).

Oh yes, on this weekend, we have a Family Day long weekend (only in Alberta). This is the weekend that we have the Polar Bear Dip, which means, some idiots jump into the lake. It used to always happen on New Years Day, but for the past 4 years, the lake has not been frozen enough, so they changed it to February - almost guaranteed to be frozen. They cut a huge hole in the ice and then these people jump in. I am sure my heart would stop. They have a hot tub right there, so as soon as they get out, they go straight to the tub.

Have a good day everyone :D

Ally0306 02-14-2001 06:48 AM

Hi guys. It is quiet in here...hope that means no one is having a pig out and not telling me about it.
Meme----Hope things are a little better...the sun is staying out longer, spring is on the way.
Candice and Happy....Yes, my diet is unhealthy. Well, not really. I mean it is not totally different than the Zone...this is chicken soup with loads of veggies in it. I have found that eating a big bowl of cooked broth and veggies gives me the impression that I have had a big meal. Believe me, I sneak in a few spoons of cottage cheese, today a piece of Sunflower Sesame bread. But what seems to keep me on target is that I allow myself a "real" snack. I have some trail mix or popcorn or a handful of nacho chips and salsa. Not Zone snacks (fruit and a piece of turkey). I have got to find a healthy way to incorporate real food in with healthy eating. I am an all or nothing person. I can't have one piece of pizza and a salad. Have to have 5 pieces. Or I will just have salad. Either pigging out or starving.
BUT this weather does have something to do with this. I lost 14 lbs last spring. I suspect I will do it again. It is just that I have to be prepared for what happens when winter comes again.
Christmas decorations. Oh that makes me feel so far ahead of the game cause I untaped a bunch of candy canes that were on my front porch LAST week....

Happy Canuk 02-14-2001 11:13 PM

Boy is this board ever getting slow! Where in the world have you gone Phyllis? I know Meme is sick and Candice must be sleeping at night now. Ally is here thank goodness. I feel great today. Only my arms ache a little, but not much. Just got back from walking, and I walked 2 miles this morning. That is darn good for me. It's been a long time since I could walk, but with the help of my Chiro, my breathing has definitely improved, from 1 year ago.

Ally, if your diet works for you and you are getting enough veggies and fruit, go for it. It just sounds like I would be forever hungry, and I hate that. Then I want to go on a binge and everything I can find lol.

Meme - Sure hope you are feeling better.

The weather is wonderful again - for this morning - was 24 degress this morning, but by this afternoon it will drop to 12 below, so it is shortlived - however, by the weekend it will be 32 so can't complain - much anyway :D

I want to wish you all a great Valentine's Day. Even if you don't have a sweetie, go out and buy yourself something nice, and be nice to yourself - have a nice warm bath with some great stress reducing bathsalts or something.

Happy Canuk 02-15-2001 03:23 AM

Phyllis, you are to funny :D That ending was hilarious. You know what - I have been on The Formula for 1 month now, and have lost 13 pounds. Not only that, but I have twice the energy I had and the exhaustion is going. I find I am up at 6:30 and stay up until 11:30 or 12:00 (pm guys) with no trouble - most days. It has to be this diet! I can think of nothing else, because I am not taking anything new. Before this, I was always so tired I just wanted to sleep and could hardly move around and everything hurt 10 times worse. I still have a problem with the arthritis, but the FM seems less. My breathing is steadily improving, in part because of the Chiro, but some must be the diet as well.

Did you know that 1 slice of white bread breaks down to 2 TBSP of sugar in your body? Same with potatoes, rice and pasta. Break down to pure sugar (glucose).

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Thanks for the laugh Phyllis - enjoyed your post - even if you sounded like everybody's Mom.

Anne

Ally0306 02-16-2001 06:33 AM

My work buddies used to call me the Soup ****. Yes, Tootie...I have lost weight on this before.
I don't mind you giving me the motherly lecture on health. I miss my mother so it is nice to have someone take that kind of interest.
I almost thought about lying and saying that I had gone to Sugar Busters, but part of my eating disorder is denial. I can't deny that the scale is what moves me to diet right now.
I learned most of my dieting from my own mother who did every diet to maintain her 125lbs til she was in her mid 50s. Then her beloved hit the road and she said...."Oh yeah..no more diets for me." She predicted she would blimp out in no time, but she ended up weighing about what I do now and just settled there.
But it is probably why I have this poor self-image. My mother did consider this weight to be a blimp after having lived her life with constant compliments for her nice shape. I had those for a long time too.

It has been so hard to lose control over so many things with this darn fibro. Had to take a less stressful job, had to lay off doing homework for/with my kids, cleaning my house, lawn work etc. All those things I took pride in accomplishing. When I started gaining weight, it was the last straw.

So, I want control over weight again. The **** with housework, with kids, with my lawn. I want to wear my size 12 jeans again. Not the 8s I have way in the back of the closet. Just the 12s.

I know, I know. Get my priorities straight.

But, dont you HATE it when you are going down the aisle of the grocery store and on one side is a guy you went out with in your thin days, and on the other side is a woman you went to high school with. AND YOU WANT TO DISAPPEAR!!!

ANd you know this also happens when I am in my sweat pants and my son's Cleveland Indians jacket.

Arrrrrrrrrgh. I feel like taking out my mutual funds portfolio and saying...."look, I'll be able to retire early". Instead, I stand there and look at an ex cheerleader with the same **** leg muscles I have never formed and my ex boyfriend who still looks 20. That little butt in Levis.

Too much emphasis on appearance. I know.

Candicej 02-16-2001 11:57 AM

Hmmmmmmmmmm.if we were all blind we wouldn't notice the other stuff! But..Let's face it this is a sighted world! I hate it too! That is why I don't go anywhere anymore..I stress out over getting ready and my Fibro flares!LOL Just too much trouble and my house well.... That is why I don't have company anymore.... too much stress and this old body can't take it!

Don't feel like you are all alone...my house is a mess, too! And everytime I get up to do anything I start coughing and break out in a sweat. I'm so weak...this stuff is awful. At least I'm not running a temp anymore. My temp was over 103 most of the time for two days. I have coughed until my ribs and even my back is sore. I have books to read but don't feel like reading...I have over 200 channels on TV but have seen everything that's any good. My house is a total disaster but I can't clean it up. Hubby has done a little but he has been working late and was out of town one day so it is just piling higher and higher with each passing day! I have eaten very little but have managed to gain weight! I WANT THIS TO BE OVER!!!

Candicej 02-17-2001 05:10 AM

On poor Meme...do hope you are taking good care of yourself! You have an excuse for a messy house, I don't..except the Fibro and you have that too! I don't know how you do all that you do when you don't have the flu!

Just get some rest..that is what your body needs now! Sending you some ((((((HUGS))))) :D

I ran the sweeper yesterday and am so sore today and have so much more to do..just can't keep up! Got a pork tenderloin in the crocpot and getting ready to make the rest of the meal.

Hi fibropals. Hope you are all feeling good. Meme, I really hope your feeling better. That has been a long haul! I will be gone until Tuesday. It is a long weekend and we are off to Edmonton. I expect you will all enjoy your weekend as well.

We listed our house, and they are having an openhouse on Sunday, so clean, clean, clean. Then it will just be a matter of picking stuff up for awhile. Not so bad to look after when just the two of us.

Will clean our way out to the garage tomorrow morning, and then be gone. Hope it sells fast, so I don't have to keep doing this. On Wednesday night at 10:00 p.m. the realtor called and wanted to show the house at 9:00 a.m., so needless to say, that was not a relaxing night. Hubby had to vacuum and we had to take some stuff downstairs. I won't have that again. I am way to stiff and sore in the morning to get moving that fast. Sure didn't want to go out - it was so cold. Luckily my neighbor was home, so went had a cup of coffee with her.

Well, Candice - are you ABSOLUTELY sure that is you :D. I could probably pass for your mother(lol). It is late and my fingures want to hit all the wrong keys, so I am going to say goodnight. A painfree weekend to all.

Tootie - hope your feeling better and Ally, I hope you diet works for you. Since it got so cold, I am just plain hungry - for carbs yet!!! Oh well, will just have to tough it out I guess.

Ally0306 02-19-2001 03:15 AM

Hi Guys.....
Happy, are you moving very far? I need to get my house ready to sell. I want to be back out in the country and needed to wait til my kids have driver's licenses which won't be long. I just don't want to go thry all the cleaning etc. Plus I am a single mom with NO expertise in fixing things and either will have to pay someone to get things done or sell as is.
When we sold out last house I can remember one night a car pulling in the driveway and a realtor calling from her cell phone to ask if some people could just come and "take a peek". I was Sooooo mad, but you really are at their mercy. So we abandoned dinner and stood out in our front yard wating for these people to go thru. They even took their time although our food was on the table.
ANd what about the packing? Are you ready for that. SOmetimes I take a box home for work and try to put some things away....
This weekend is cold and windy. Can't take much more of this. And I pigged out on Friday....all you can eat seafood buffet. Actually I was very good and only ate a salad and crab legs. ANd then I went and took a gander at the dessert bar. I felt like I was at a food orgy. I have never seen so many decadent chocolate desserts and I had to take a nibble of all.
And my hearturn and aches are back big time.
Punishment!!!!
Meme? Are you out of bed yet?

MemeToo 02-19-2001 11:17 AM

Hi everyone, I think I am finally on the mend. I went back to the Dr. Friday...he thought I might have pneumonia...said if I wasn't better by Monday I would need to have my lungs x rayed. He changed my medicine and put me on an inhaler. It has helped a lot...I'm not wheezing and not coughing nearly as bad...at least I'm sleeping a little now!

I can't believe I stayed in bed for 8 whole days and ate very little of anything and still managed to GAIN 2 pounds...I hate my body! I still don't have much of an appetite...and I can't taste anything...so why eat!

Hope you are all doing ok...sounds like a lot of stress...having sold 5 houses before myself! Real Estate people are so disrespectful of your time and privacy. They agree to "show by appointment only" and then make you feel guilty if you tell them "no" when they want to show at a moment's notice. When we built this house I said I guess my next "move" would be "up"! http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif

It's sooooo good to be back!

MEME

Ally0306 02-20-2001 12:22 AM

Glad you are out of bed, Meme. Isn't it amazing that you gain weight while not eating???
I keep reading about Seasonal Affective Disorder and if I think about it, I have always packed on a little more weight in winter. That was even before FM when I was doing aerobics etc. This weekend was so cold and miserable...I just ate what I felt like eating.
That, Tootie, is not the same shame I feel when I find myself frothing at a dessert bar. Then I feel bad as I "wasted" calories on food of no special importance. Just wanted to keep flapping my gums, I guess.
And Tootie, I am dying to know what you did that was stupid.
I went to an outlet mall today and got my boys jeans and cargo pants for $7.99 as a store was going out of business. I get as excited over a bargain as I do over chocolate....so I am on a high right now.
Plus the weather is a whole 30 degrees (warm spell) and wind has died down.
Back to work tomorrow.

Happy Canuk 02-21-2001 01:43 AM

Hello gals. Well I am back from a very busy weekend and guess what - mostly pain free!!! Today, however, is a different story. This arthritis has kicked in and I can't bend any which way - hurts like the devil when I do - when I don't try, it is just a steady throbbing. Thank goodness I have a chiro appointment tomorrow morning. I will just have to make do with today - and hope my Dr. Ho contraption will do the trick. I have it on right now, so should know within the next 20 min. I have to go to Costco this afternoon and I just don't know if I can, the way I feel right now. Oh well, there is always tomorrow I guess.

I had such a busy weekend. On Saturday morning, we cleaned our way out. I must say the house was sparkling when we left. Met out son at Tim Hortons for lunch, as he had just come home on Friday night (11:00 p.m.) and had to leave again on Sunday at noon. He has been working out of town for the past month and now he will be gone again for at least a month. Going up to Northern Canada, almost to the Yukon, so I really wanted to touch base with him. Then we drove to Edmonton and went a visited a cousin of my husbands and then went to my daughters for supper and babysat. Played cards that evening with my aunt and uncle (they came over as we were looking after our little granddaughter). The next day, we went and visited my brother and his wife, and then went to my aunt and uncles for dinner, and they also invited my brother and sister-in-law for dinner, and then we play Domino's. I haven't played that for absolutely years, and we had a blast. Started playing around 8:00 and never finished until 1:00 a.m. Then drove back to my daughters. On Monday (it was a long weekend -Family day) we went and looked at Condos around the Edmonton area. Not sure yet where we are moving, just that we would like to go to a condo and not have to worry about the outside work at all. I can't do it, and my hubby doesn't enjoy it. Looked in one condo that has a swimming pool, sauna, hot pool, billard tables, library etc. Beautiful building and the suites were great. I guess time will tell where we will be moving. Then we stopped for dinner and had a terrific meal - nothing to do with my diet at all. Allowed myself the weekend off and enjoyed it. Won't lose anything this week, but it is worth it. Started back on track today. I certainly learned that I feel a lot better with not so many 'starchy carbs' and sugar. I don't think I will ever lose my taste for sweets. I really love them. My Mom, who used to eat sweets, became a diabetic and when she would eat anything a little sweet, she would actually cringe. Wish that would happen to me. I can go months without sugar and the first taste - GIVE ME MORE!!!. I think I am just a carb-o-holic. This morning for breakfast, I had back bacon and an apple sliced with it and cooked. That is so good.

Moving - well gosh! That is no big deal. I have lived in this house only 11/2 years. We built it and it is a very nice house. Since we moved from our home (20 years we lived there) we have moved 3 times in 6 years and this will be the fourth move. I don't find it hard as long as I can organize it. Pack and label boxes etc. The last time we moved, we had only 2 weeks as the lady wanted to move in to the condo as quick as she could and we had the house finished and I had already cleaned it, so just took the stuff from the condo and put it all away as we brought it in. Only had 4 boxes, so had to empty them and repack them. That was a hoot!!!! I really don't have to do anything but pack the boxes, and usually I have plenty of time to do that. I got rid of the clutter when we moved the first time. Had a gigantic garage sale, and gave my kids whatever they wanted of the stuff. So we only moved what we use. It was the best thing I ever did. I will try find the website where my house is listed and you can go in and have a look if you like. It is with Realty World.

Meme - I am so glad that you are starting to feel better. Bad enough to put up with everything you have, without being sick as well.

Candice - I am going to scan you a picture of me soon.

Tootie - what a time you had. That was to funny. I have done things like that, as I am sure everyone has. It is always a little embarrasing when you catch yourself doing something that you consider stupid (lol), One time last summer, I noticed my neighbors car door was open (we were busy fencing). I sort of forgot about it, but in the morining I noticed it was still open, so went over to see if she was ok, as her husband's truck was not there. She was fine, but she said she had taken out some stuff from the car, and when she got in the house the phone had rung and she just plain forgot and left the door wide open. Funny how our brains work (or don't work) at times, isn't it?

Ally - Dieting is the pits. It doen't matter which one you go on - they all say the same thing - stop eating anything good. No brownies, cake, cookies - and fruit is fine, but it sometimes just doesn't cut it. Look at Meme, not eating a thing, and gaining two pounds. Her body went into starvation mode and held on to everything. Funny way that works, don't you think?

Hope everyone is having a great day. Candice is going to kill me for this post, but I haven't posted anything since Friday, so...... :D

MemeToo 02-21-2001 02:06 AM

WHEW And you sure made up for lost time! http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif

I'll keep it short and sweet...I'm thinking this may run into page 2 anyway!

I'm still feeling better, flu wise...but my right leg and hip are killing me today. It is supposed to rain tonight...oh joy! Darndest thing I ever did see...since I started back eating again I've alread lost one of the pounds that I gained! Just too weird...don't eat...you gain...you eat...you lose! Wouldn't it be GREAT if that was true all the time??? http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//insane.gif

I've picked up some more students this week...I always dread starting a new student. I have 13 now...unlucky number, either need to get another or "fire" one! :D

We've moved 18 times since we've been married. And I STILL don't enjoy it!

MemeToo 02-22-2001 09:50 AM

I was wondering the same thing!!!
My leg hurts...hmmm...think if we all got together we could find one whole well person between us???
Ross is spending the night tonight...probably means no sleep for me...he turns crossways in the bed! He's staying Friday night, too...going to let him sleep with Papa then! http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif

Hope you are all just busy and not sick(er)!

Hey guys, It seems this is the only time I could sit and dribble some words because I can't sleep.
Best news tho, the steel brace can be taken off so now maybe I can type and will not lose the post. The DOc. showed me how well I healed and I was reminded that things are going on in my body that does not need concentration to "function/work"

Hi Guys...my son is waiting for the computer. I am on a cheating binge. Not really cheating, just not starving at the moment.
I went to the gyno today and was glad it was just a pap smear and I didn't have to get on the scale.
I like this Doc..she is overweight and we commiserate. Today????? She got a new horse and has lost weight cause "I don't have time to eat". Darn.
I ate so much sugar on Sun and Mon that I got good and constipated so I have been reading about fiber.
If I can't DO something, I just research it til I am an expert on it.
But, I'm still fat.
Sorry about the pain girls. I've got it too...back to snow and cold after ONE day of 40 degree weather....
I don;t like it when we get a taste of the good stuff and then back to crap.

Hi. We are all going to have to shape up, I think. I have a sore arm, Meme a sore leg, Phyllis can't sleep, Candice is having 'puter problems and Ally is eating carbs!!! Heavens - what a mess we are in :D

I went walking again this morning and think I did almost 3 miles, very quickly. Had coffee, turned down a cupcake someone had made, and felt great. Now if my arm would just stop hurting. It is getting really cold here now, and it is supposed to start snowing this afternoon sometime. Change in the weather always affects something. This time it is my back. It was really sore this morning, but as the day wears on it is feeling better, and the storm is here.

Ally, I don't know how you get constipated from sugar. To much of that and it does the opposite. Did you know that 1 tsp of sugar can close down your immune system for up to 6 hours. I never knew that, but I saw it on T.V. the other night on a program called health matters.

Phyllis - glad you got that cast off. NOw if we get you to sleep (you and Candice).

Meme - more students yet? You must be so busy. I don't know how you do that!

Have a good weekend girls.

MemeToo 02-24-2001 02:09 AM

The students are the least of my problems. It is the FAMILY that keeps me hopping. I have had Jenna all week (of course) plus had Ross Wednesday night. Tonight Ross (4), Garrett (5) and Kaylyn (3) are ALL coming to spend the night and all day tomorrow! We are taking them to MacDonald's to eat and play then to WalMart to get groceries tonight. Won't that be a blast!!! NOT! I have spent the last 3 days cleaning and washing clothes, trying to catch back up from being sick last week. Lot of good it did me to clean...with 3 Rugrats here all weekend you'll never know it by Sunday!

Someone was IN MY HOUSE this morning. Scared me to death!!! My alarm went off and I sat up in bed, looked at the clock and turned it off...then the floor outside my bedroom door "squeaked". The board have made A LOT of noise ever since we built the house but just outside my bedroom door. The door was closed but there was NO MISTAKING that someone was there. I called out...thought it was hubby had stayed home from work for some reason. No one answered then I heard a loud POP in the kitchen. I got up and went through the house...no one was there and hubby's truck was gone. I KNOW SOMEONE WAS IN THE HOUSE!!! I did a room to room search with the lights all on but nothing. Then...brave me...I went to the basement and did another search...NOTHING! I called hubby at work and asked him if he was SURE he locked the basement door on the way out and he said no! Someone came in...probably thinking no one was home...then when I called out hubby's name they left and locked the basement door behind them! I've had the "wileys" all day!!!

My leg is still killing me! But I feel a lot better everywhere else. I think that 5HTP must be helping me A LOT! Don't know what else it could be!

Ally0306 02-24-2001 05:07 AM

Meme....That gives me the heebie jeebies. Are you out in the country? Do you have a dog???
And 5-HTP.... even though I am having some general aching from this crappy weather, I just realized the other day that before I started taking this I could not get up off the couch at night without total pain. That is the only thing I am taking so I think that must be the reason things are better.

And Happy.....I believe that about the sugar. Making my aching right now is cold weather combined with sugar. And when I really hurt one of my muscles after Thanksgiving? I had just eaten a huge meal with desserts etc.
I went to see a freind who just had twins. Can't remeber when mine were that small.
Geez. Another kids waiting for the computer..... see ya.

Candicej 02-24-2001 04:09 PM

Gee..Meme.....That would have scared me to death! I didn't know you were taking 5HTP????

Ally...sugar is a bad bad thing..it really makes me hurt! Are you taking the 5HTP too and how much??????

Anne..why are you selling your house????

I have been pooped the past few days...cleaning will do that to me but I'm not done!!!!!! I'll never be done..wish I had my cleaning lady back!!!!!!(She moved over 3 years ago but she was good!)

Wild weather here..a spring thundersotrm Sat and snow Sun.! http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//insane.gif

My computer is still messing up..It is the hard drive..it is too small and full!

Cleaning...UGH...that's something that NEVER gets done!

It DID scare me to death! Hubby is downstairs right now putting a dead bolt on the basement door. He said he isn't sure if he locked it or not but that if there was a dead bolt on it he would THINK about it when he went out and be sure to lock it back! Don't know if I can trust him or not...guess I will be waking up as he leaves for work from now on...don't think I can sleep not knowing for sure...

I'm pooped, too! The kiddies (I have 3 of them this weekend) didn't go to sleep until midnight and then the boys got up at 5:30. My leg was hurting so bad last night I couldn't sleep...layed awake until after 3!!!

Happy Canuk 02-25-2001 01:09 AM

Meme - poor girl - scared to death (which I would have been) and then have three kids that won't sleep, pain that keeps you awake, and then early risers. What a fun weekend(lol) Glad it is yours :D

Candice - we built this house to sell it. My hubby designed it, but when it didn't sell, they wouldn't insure an empty house, so we sold our condo (took 1 day) and moved here and in June we will have been here for 2 years. We would like to move back to a condo. Looked at one on the weekend that had a swimming pool, hot pool, sauna, pool table, library, lots of sitting areas, a great huge kitchen and room for larger crowds, Like when I have Easter at my house, I have between 22-28 depending on who is around, a T.V. room with a huge TV in it, and a craft room (which I would never go into). At first I thought I would never use all these things, but the more I think about it, the more I think we would - so who knows. Looked at a couple of others as well, that were not so elaborate and they were fine as well. One thing that must be there is underground parking. Really need that with the winters we have here. Some builders still don't do that. Today it is 8 below zero for the high and heading for 30 below this weekend. Brrrr. That is even cold for February - I guess we will be having our January weather now.

Ally - You New Yorkers are having a not nice winter. Do you usually get this many storms. Keep working at your diet. The 5HTP, I stopped taking, because I was taking another product that the Dr. wanted me to try, but will be back at it soon. Hope that is what is helping you and Meme.

Phyllis - Where have you gone. I hope that you are feeling a lot better, and are just to busy to come talk to us.

I lost 5 pounds this week, but 2 were some I gained back the week before, so actually only 3 pounds, but I will take them. At least I don't have to go out and buy any clothes, just have to go into the closet and pick something out. Lots of clothes just hanging around in there.

Talk to you gals later.

Ally0306 02-25-2001 01:09 AM

Candice....I take 100mgs of 5-htp in the morning and the same at night. I have heard that 300mgs is what some docs recommend so I may add another dose at lunch time. I went back to my favorite vitamin store at the outlet mall and they had no sale stuff so I had to pay $17 for a month's worht. I may order some. Anyone recommend an on line herbal place???
Meme...what are you taking?
I ate a huge lunch yesterday and do NOT have to go to the bathroom today. ANd I can't blame it on sugar, but lots of carbs!!!
Maybe I get constipated out of GUILT!!!
Cleaning. Pshaw.
I want to move but do not want to clean my house and pack anything.

Happy Canuk 02-25-2001 08:25 AM

Meme just starting a new thread.

Rev 06-20-2002 05:57 PM

I'm not actually replying to this thread, I just would like to see if going again. I have Fibro, I'm overweight and stressed!! My husband is waiting on a liver transplant he also needs to lose weight. Is there anyone who wants a message board buddy that has fibro?

Thanks,
Rev

Happy Canuk 06-20-2002 06:19 PM

Rev. We have a current thread going Fibromyalia #60. Please come join us. We are not a big group, only a hand full of us. We would love to have you:)

Rev 06-20-2002 06:22 PM

Thanks for accepting me. I just posted on another fibro thread that you had listed. I'm not sure if it was #60 or not. I'll go back and check if not i'll post there. Thanks! Revella
