What Works For Counteracting Weight Gain From Allergy RX?

Hi... new here and looking for some help. For the past five or so years I have been at a weight that I am happy and healthy at and is within the normal range after struggling with eating disorders.

Sadly this Spring has been a doozy and my allergist changed up my prescription to help me cope with the symptoms. In less than two months I gained over 25 lbs. She then changed me to another RX and the weight gain is continuing at an alarming pace.

My diet has not changed, I eat a high fiber and veggie diet low in fat and low calorie... nor has my activity level decreased (I jog about 4 miles 5 days a week, plus gym sessions twice a week)... I feel like there is nothing I can do to stop this weight gain and get back to where I was before all this allergy meds mess!

I know that diet pills are not well regarded... but is there truly anything pill wise (or anything else other than eating even less which I know would be dangerous or workout out more which is not exactly healthy either) I can do to stop this seeing as pills are what did this to me?

hmm, what are you taking? other than an old drug called periactine that had an appetite stimulating effect, I have not heard of this side effect with antihistamines. (although as I typed the name it made me wonder if it was an early version of reactine, is that what you are on?).
You could ask for something like nasonex, which is a steroid spray into the nose, works well for nasal allergies and helps my eyes too. But its not for everyone.
What a drag for you. If it helps, my environmental allergies have gotten better with age. (though my food allergies are worse, and I am getting new ones)
