Osteoarthritis in my knee - Glucosamine?
Hi all,
My right knee has been aching these days so I will soon have an MRI to determine if it's arthritis. Does anyone here take glucosamine? Does it work to relieve pain? NSAIDS make me retain water grrrrrrr. I read that glucosamine may cause insulin resistance so wondered if it's generally not recommended for anyone who is obese. My doc is away for a month so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! :) |

Boomcha, I have osteoarthritis in both knees. I tried glucosamine several years ago, and I had no luck with it. I have had injections in both knees, but I haven't had those for over a year now. I have taken water aerobics or just walked in a pool for exercise, and I believe that did me more good than anything. Hot tub or whirlpool also helps me. I am to the point right now that I am even doing regular aerobics classes because my pain is so much less than it was.
Good luck! |
