Premarin and Weight Loss
 

About a year and a half ago I had to undergo a hysterectomy, and my doctor put me on Premarin. I had lost a massive amount of weight (210 lbs) before I had the surgery, and now I am having a MUCH harder time trying to lose weight, and have also put over 50 lbs back on....Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this,,,,Or has anyone else gone through this? It's very aggravating!!!!:mad:

Yes I went through this and I could not lose weight and keep it off on premerin....I am now taking estrace and doing WW and have lost 55 pounds and kept it off for a year but it is a constant battle! If you can be active it will help.......but I know you already know that!

I had a hysterectomy in 1997 and have put on over 50 pounds since....and I am having such a hard time of it. YOu're not alone

I used to take Premarin, but switched to Estroderm patches. The Premarin gave me a lot of side effects. I don't think weight was one of them, since I was only on it for a short time. Estroderm is completely different from Premarin, so if your body is not tolerating it, a switch might help.

The best thing about Estroderm patches for me, is that I don't have to forget to take a pill. I change the patch twice weekly.
