Illness Prob, HELP!
Ok, here my concern....
About a week ago I came down with a nasty cold! I have a 3 yr old who is a germ factory, as any parent knows. So I got this cold about a week ago and I lost 2 lbs overnite, OVERNITE! During the course of my 3-4 day sickness I lost 3-4 lbs, I can't remember exactly. So two days ago, I started not feeling so great again. Got this chest cold/congestion thing going on. I left for work this morning I was 202, I got home I was 200! It wasn't from a change in my diet, I ate the same thing today I eat pretty much everyday: tuna sandwich w/ lt miracle whip, 1 slice of cheese on toasted wheat & a yogurt for a mid day snack. So, does anyone else find that when they come down with a cold or whatever, they lose a ridiculous amount of weight when they're sick? Is this normal or is there cause for concern? |
As long as you are getting enough fluids while sick I wouldn't worry about it.
Some of the weight may come back after you get better, but it may not. It can depend. If it does come right back, don't freak out, you were probably just dehydrated. |
I agree with zenor. I lost 10 pounds overnight with a nasty tummy bug. I gained back about 5 pounds, and I was glad to gain it back--I knew I was healthier and hydrated!
Is the above food list what you've been eating while you've been sick, or is that the only food you eat every day, even when you're not sick? I have never been able to gag down tuna when I'm sick, and I love the stuff! You must have a better tummy than I do! |
Yeah that is typically what I pack for work. Sometimes if I'm feeling naughty  I pack a 100 cal pack too.
