Oat and Apple Muffins
 

Oat and Apple Muffins 350 - 30 min,

3 1/4 c wholewheat flour
1 Tb. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp All Spice
1 1/2 c Rolled Oats
1/2 c Brown Sugar
3 small Diced Apples (peeled and cored)
1 large egg
1 1/2 tsp vegetable oil
2 c low fat yogurt (I used no fat sour cream)
1/2 c skim milk

Mix wet ingredients.
Add all dry ingredients
Mix

Makes 12 muffins - 2 points (12 REALLY large muffins) I actually got 18 1/4 size muffins.

MMMM...those muffins sound good.
Well, today it is back to winter. NY is just so unpredictable. I guess I should just feel lucky to have had a nice day in there....

Cold - well on Thursday morning it was 38 below here, today it is 0 and feels like a heatwave. It is nice, as long as there is no wind.

Finally...I have been trying to log in for 3 days now but it wouldn't let me...I finally had to write to them...they had one of the boxes in my options checked wrong...after all this time it had changed! Can't figure that out!

Anne...that was a cute card...hope you warm up soon! It is sunny and cold here...it was 70 and sunny a couple of days last week...wonderful, though a little windy! Makes me long for May! Back down in the 20s at night now, though. It's sunny today but cold.

Mima...a 7 pound difference I can see but not a 34 pound difference...that's too much! I want to get down between 140 and 150 if I can. I'd rather be 140 but if I stop before that I guess I just stop! I'd argue about where to put things...especially if it was in the kitchen. I always get my way about where things inside the house goes (I only get my way about the outside most of the time!) :lol:

Joanne...I reach for the chips every time I go through a rough spell...I think it is carbs and salt I crave!

Candice...would've been easier if it WAS your hubby...you could have eased his pain in just a few minutes!!! :lol: Did you bite the cat back? I used to have a dog that bit me all the time, I bit her back and she stopped biting me! Of course she still bit hubby! :lol: (Before you all go getting balistic on me...it was a little white poodle, I only bit her "lightly" on the paw, and she had just had a bath!) :p

Hi guys-I woke up 3 times last night and had 3 different sets of dreams-Only deceased person this time was my uncle.I have had dreams about a lot of people that died last week. I know it's because I'm transitioning. We had a great time yesterday-the whole family came over to swim in the pool and then we played pool and Jill and I won. Of course they let me put the white ball wherever I want. I got 2 god shots without it. Gorgeous here. Going with a friend today. no car-she'll pick me up at the bus stop.3 more sleeps. I guess I'll be back in the cold Friday.But there is not snow on the ground so I'll be able to walk outside.Sounds like you had a good day, Joanne. Happy- We are supposed to be in the 70's today.. I just turned off the heat.. I have hopes that I won't have to turn it back on. But when evening gets here it will get a little chilly so my hubby will turn it on.
Meme- I hid the chips. I just think out of sight out of mind. I only need to lose about 5 more lbs. I have been trying(I admit half hearted) for about 3 yrs. It goes up 2 and down 2 . Like a yoyo. My body and mind is working against me.
Mima.. I bet you are packing! Just a few more days. Sounds like the lines are being set. I just say "that's fine" and when he clears the area do as I want.:lol: He never knows the difference. At least he keeps quiet if he does. :lol:
Abby ..Before you know it it will be warm weather. How are your kids doing? School will be out soon. I always made sure my teens had a job lined up.. I said if they were working ,they didn't have time to get into trouble.

My finger seems to be doing better but I hurt my upper arm elbow and shin today cleaning the cats room in the basemnet, they are such pigs!! I'm such a clutz, all brusied and lumped up!

My sons BD dinner is Wed so I have been banking points..I'm, making a pork roast with gravy and mashed potatoes..his request and we will ahve a DQ cake! (need to get it out of the freezer)

Dh is still sick and the doc was too busy to see him last week so he went to the emergency care clinic and they said it was a cold, gave him some nose drops and and a decongestant and now he has a temp and an ear ache to boot! WE think it is sinus but they won't listen to us! Stupid docs!!!!!!!!:mad: :mad:

Hey Everybody-- I don't know too much about the Blue Stuff.. Except it cost 40 dollers a jar. I'll stick to Icy Hot.. It is under 10 dollers. I wonder if some of these new balms are just a new thing. The condition is still there.
Candice- I hope the sick ones in your house are soon well. There is not too much worse than a sick man. That pork roast sounds good. I haven't made one of those in a while.
The weather here is really nice. I hope it lasts for awhile.
I ate too much over the weekend so now I am having to really watch it. I did go for a good walk Sunday but then hurt too much to go on Monday. I'll do it again today.

Joanne - I don't know, but the Blue Stuff is more like an ointment that a pain rub. It have Glucosomine, MSM etc. in it, it I remember correctly, oh yeah and some blue stuff:lol: Anyway, Ally is having some good luck with it helping ward of migranes, so maybe Meme will to. She gets those. Me, I am not to bothered by headaches, thank goodness.

Mima - I missed you this morning. You are just always here. So I was disappointed not so see you post. I hope you are ok.

Ally - hello. Are you now over the flu? I sure hope so.

Spring will be here before we know it, although, you would never be able to tell from looking out my window. Snow everywhere, but it is warming up a bit. I think it will get to about 11 above or so today. That is a heatwave compared to what we just went through. Imagine 38 below in March!!! That is even unheard of here - that is weather generally confined to November or January.

I have been sticking to my diet rather well. I sure hope some of these pounds start to move out soon. I have lost a lot of inches, so that must count for something. I have tried to add more protein and less starchy carbs to my diet. They just make me want to eat more and more, so the best thing to do is just leave them alone. I can actually incorporate the Formula diet into ww, easy enough.

Well, I better get going here. Did a one mile walk using my tape and weights this morning. My hip and lower back are really sore, but I decided they wouldn't feel much worse whether I did the walk or not.

Meme....I used that Blue stuff on a bunion between my toes and now it is fine. I am going to put a dab on my son's gross zit on his nose tonight. The only bad thing is the smell....that must be what emus smell like. A little dab'll do ya so that jar should last a long time. I have never tried Coricidin so can't compare. I got a bunch of samples with my jar and one is a skin cream. When I get back from the wedding I am going to in N. Carolina this weekend I am going to try it for a week.
I am cutting down on my 5-HTP. Don't use it when the weather gets better so I don't want to buy another bottle. What I notice is that I crave carbs so bad.... I would love to eat a loaf of bread. I went on the treadmill and upped the speed....wow, am I hurting now. BUT still hungry.:dizzy:

I couldn't log on yesterday!One more sleep. We went to my daughter-in-law's mother's house last night and had a deliscious dinner, Many points. I have been walking and exercising in the pool, though.I went tosee a really nice manufactured homes park and put our name in for next year. Eventuall we might buy something and stay here longer but Brad is still working for a year and a half. He goes round and round with how much he works. Maybe I should get that blue stuff. I'll be glad to get back to the chiro and my regular masseuse and senior yoga. I can't believe I have so much pain down here-I didn't last year. Of course I came down here with sore shoulders. Happy- I think the guy who put out the Blue Stuff will make a mint and run before it is over.. My niece was telling her mother about it. My sister has Lupus and lives on Social Security like a lot of us. So she said she would buy Icy Hot too. :lol:
Mima ..One more day and you are on your way. We have a lot of nice Mobile Parks up this way. My sister and her friend bought into one and they just love it. It offers just about everything for the over 50 crowd... She is 2 miles from the Gulf and very close to shopping. I live in between her and the Gulf. We are quiet in this little town. I have to say people are fast finding us and moving in.
Ally.. Let us know how that stuff works on your son's zits... I wonder if the Carolina's are getting spring yet.
The weather here is perfect now. I wish it would stay like this year round. The oaks are shedding their leaves and getting new. We need the rain here in this part of the state. It seems to always miss us. It is either below or above us.

Firstly Mima - have a safe trip home. I know you will be terribly excited and I don't blame you. Now you can devote your time to planning your wedding. It will be here before you know it.

The ICE stuff doesn't do a thing for me. I find better relief with BenGay Ultra Strength. I just hope the Blue Stuff works for Alley and Meme.

Hi Candice. I hope your arm is a lot better. I don't envy you this since I hurt my arm in the accident. It is still swollen around the joint and will just take time to go away. The muscles that lead from the elbow up to the biceps get so achy, I don't feel like picking up my arm at all.

Hi Alley and Meme - hope you gals are doing ok. Spring, with all the ups and downs in weather, is such a hard time of year for FMers, or anyone that suffers with chronic pain.

Now, I went to ww yesterday, and I lost 1.6 pounds. Seems to me I am stuck on that amount, or like last week .6 only. Oh well, I guess it will go when it is good and ready. I have lost inches and that is fine as well.

Happy- I think ,at times , that nothing helps the chronic pain we have. I tend to just wait it out. I refuse to get all drugged up. I have found that moist heat helps when nothing else will.
Mima.. I know you are a happy camper by the time you read this.
It must be wonderful to find true love when you are in your 60's. It makes you young at heart.

I am not sleeping well and I get so irritable..Dh has been sick for two weeks now with cold first then sore throat then ear infection and the antibiotics are not helping..I told him to tell the doc not me..he thinks I am his personnal nurse and I don't feel like taking care of him right now..such a baby!!!!!!!!! My son is sick too so I had to disinfect the house when he left!

We had my sons 22nd BD dinner and I am glad it is over..nice to see the boys but I'm glad they don't live here anymore..too much work! I had banked points I didn't use and I go out to eat today with friends so maybe they will get used then! The resturant I don't like very much..too much smoking in there and the food is not that good but my friend picked it and is paying I need to get some sleep!


My house smells like dog pee when it gets humid!!! Yuck I can't stand it....(from when our poodle was so sick way back in 96)(we had to put him to sleep back then) the dog we have now stays in the basement and I have to mop her room everyday cause she has a bladder problem too! Boy I hope when I am that old I don't dribble! It has not been a good week!

I keep leaving stuff so it won't be so noticeable. I saw my dress in a catalog and it's lime green. Glad I didn't order it. Gray and dreary here but buds on trees. Hope everyone is fine. Mima

It was good to see my friends but the food was not that great!

I had a grilled chicken breast with a sweet & sour sauce over rice and didn't eat all the rice and had a cup of veggie soup and salad bar(just lettuce and a few beets) oh and a glass of tomato juice..but I was still hungry when I left like I had eaten nothing! I counted the chick as 7 (not sure how many ounces but it was small and the rice as 3 and the soup as 1 so I had points to spare so I had a bowl of cereal (high fiber) when I got home later to fill me up. They had the fried catfish and it looked so good! I was afraid the fat would not agree with me since I am not used to it. I do not like eating out! My friend found a cracker wrapper in her soup!


DH still sick.............I'm kinda down and hurting right now..just a rough week! :(

Migraine tonight...and all day long! Middle TN is under water. We are in a flood watch the rest of the night and it is supposed to rain some more tomorrow and Tuesday Morning. Some people have been run out of their houses by water. One person, a teenager, drowned trying to push a car over a flooded bridge. There are cars stranded everywhere and flooded homes and basements. That's all that's on the news...people standing out on their porches with water up to the doors and flooded roads and cars. We are lucky...we built on high ground. Water has run in at our basement door and garage but it hasn't invaded the rest of the basement yet. I put some huge beach towels down at the basement door...hopefully they will get most of it. The carpet at the bottom of the stairs is already wet.

I'm hurting big time and have gained 7 pounds. You should see how bad I'm swollen. I took a DosePak a week ago and that made me so hungry and I ate too much then plus I'm sooooo swollen now...discouraging! And I'm going to Michigan Friday, too. I was really hoping to LOSE weight before we went, not gain it!

Candice...sorry you are so down. I know what you mean about being glad the BD party is over. My daughter had Jenna's here yesterday...she was 3 today...and I had to clean all day then have everybody here for the party...it is just too much work...especially when I feel so bad! Hope you are feeling better!

Mima...you are so lucky...enjoy your bliss.......I'm sooooo happy for you! YOU GO GIRL! (I wouldn't like it if my daughter read our message board!!!) I went and bought a couple pieces of material to make myself a couple more dresses. This should take care of me for awhile. I see a lot of ladies wearing pants to church. I just have never been able to. I guess ,I think my G/mother would rise from the dead and give me a piece of her mind. :lol: Some stigma I can't get rid of,I guess.I have picked up a couple pounds so I am trying to watch myself more. I walk almost every day. My daughter says she has some exercise tapes for me so I can do those also. Everyone is trying to help me stay on tract. They know how fast I can gain weight.

PAIN..PAIN..PAIN....... Oh my gosh I have not had this kind of pain in a very long time!!!! I even walked today and did some cleaning...My legs and arms are just not working right and so much pain in the muscles..stretching even hurts instead of feeling better.....Hope I don't have too many more of these days.....can't hardly stand it and I can't concentrate when I hurt so bad!

The Dr.said he would inject it,but, I just hate going to the Dr. I keep putting it off hoping it will just go away. I hate that stuff injected into me anyway..It makes me sick for days after.

hi guys-thanks for the well wishes. I have been in my new home organizing and throwing things away and packing other things up. we have a mouse problem in the kitchen. tjis morning we were greeted by 2 dead ones in the trap. Home for a couple of days. Can't remember if i shut off the coffee pot but brad will be there tonight. He is still such a wonderful person even if he did accumulate stuff in the last 5 years. But I'm getting there. Ans when it's done!!!!Happy happy.It's been snowing here and more tomorrow .Getting my blood test tomorrow am. Mima

One more day and then I'm headed for Michigan. I got my gold shot today so I'll be really tired by the weekend...oh joy! I'm hoping the rain is over for a few days. I'm so swollen I had to go buy a new pair of blue shoes today because all I have (out of over 50 pairs of shoes) is 1 pair of black heels and a really old pair of scuffed up loafers. I had to get a half size larger than what I normally wear!!! I bought a really great purse, too. It has 3 large compartments plus a zip compartment in the front that has a removable wallet. You can just unzip it, leave it in, and get to all your credit cards, money, check book etc. or you can take the whole thing out, zip it up and carry it alone. It even has a place for my cell phone in the side and an open pocket on the side for receipts and lists when you're shopping plus a little zipper pocket for your keys! Now, if I can just get used to where everything is!!! I hate breaking in new shoes and a new purse...now I'll have to do both at the same time.

Candice, I hope you are feeling better. I have been hurting really bad, too. A lot of it is the weather. It has been raining here for days...middle TN was practically under water for 3 days...the last count I heard, 9 have died due to the rain! I always hurt worse this time of year. Maybe we'll get straightened out by Summer!

Ross has his first Dr. appointment tomorrow morning. Pray that she'll be able to help him! I'm so afraid they will want to put him in a hospital or something and observe him. I will just die if that happens. Poor little guy is so afraid of so many things. He'd be terrified!

I just signed on with Earthlink again (for my laptop) so I'll be able to get online in Michigan. Talk to you all again from there!

Anyone experience vertigo(you know that room spinning, nausiating kind of dizziness) with the
Fibro. I had this years ago and have meds for it but had never related it to my Fibro,but
Monday I was in so mush pain I told DH we had to get rid of all our animals cause it was too
much trouble for me and I love my animals! (but finding them really hard to keep up with on
bad days). Anway on Tuesday I was forced to rest due to waking up with Vertigo, I had to get
up cause laying flat made it worse so I sat in my recliner propped up with a pillow and as long
as I didn't move I was ok. Wed. it was still there but not as bad so I decided it must have been
my bodys way of saying take a few days off.....totally off! My legs and arms have also been
giving me fits with muscle pain on the underside of my arms(elbow to hands) and the back of
my legs(knee to ankle) Just feels like they need a good stretch and when I do it doesn't seem
to help. Stiff muslces I guess you could say. This is something I had not experienced untill the
last few months and I keep thinking it will go away when the warmer weather comes. Any of
your thoughts would be appreciated..I try not to run to the doc for every little thing that goes
wrong(my docs are not well informed anyway about Fibro) but somethimes I just can't tell if it
is Fibro or something else. Thanks for being here all!

I'm back at my new home and am staying a while because I have so much to do. I had my blood test yesterday so I'll know if i have syphylis-MA is archaic.Threy still do that. Candice - I had vertigo once and I never hope to have it again. It had NOTHING to do with FM, because I didn't have it then. I believe it had to do with spraying RAID (indoor). I was living by the river and it was in the summer. All those horrid little Afids(those tiny little bugs) were up by the light, so I decided to spray them. It was late in the evening. When I woke up in the morning, the world was spinning. I couldn't not even stand up. Thank goodness my husband was around that day. By 2:00 p.m. I called the Dr. and he told me to take GRAVOL. This I did, and by suppertime I was able to walk, albeit, still a little dizzy. When I woke the next day, I was back to normal and have NEVER had it again. Get some GRAVOL, Candice. It really does work.

Meme - Have a great time! Forget about everything, you will look fine. I like the sound of that new purse. I switched from a big one to a small one, because I was getting so tired of lugging it around - and the weight of it:lol I hope they find out what the devil is wrong with that little Ross. Poor little fellow.

Mima - Hope you find your new home enjoyable. Before you know it, you will be MRS again. Just over a month until the big day Month arrives:lol . Now this is going to be fun.

Years back when I had this they thought it was inner ear or maybe the beginning of Miners Diesease....I am better but wake up every day with a touch of it and take my meclizine and that seems to help...but I can't move to quickly or lay my head back and move so no floor exercises!;)

I had to switch to a fanny pack when shopping after my arms got so bad...keep my purse in the trunk but have to take a cooler along in the hot months so my medicine dos not over heat! My shoulders will not toloarte anthing now(purse no matter the size!)

I don't envy Meme..that's a 12 hour trip she is making!

What kind of shoes do you all wear????????? I have foot pain so I have to wear comfy ones and they look awful...would like to find a pair of dress ones I can tolorate but haven't been able to yet!

Happy- I am right here in Tarpon Springs. I read your post on the Raid... a few days ago we went out to our sons house to help him solve a problem.. He had flys everywhere. We decided something had crawled under his house and died. My hubby was spraying raid on the flys. Lots of it. Well we found the corpse,a possum,a big one too. My son had to crawl under the house and get it out.My hubby started feeling sick and dizzy later in the evening and was that way for a couple days. I am sure it was the raid.That stuff is more lethal than they tell you...I hope you have a really nice birthday. Lord to be on the 50's again!!
Mima.. The weather here is cool.In the 70's.. It was really warm for a few days. My daughter is due to pull in, in a little while so I better get off this thing so she can call if she needs to.. I haven't seen her in a few weeks..

Hi guys, I'm back. Here is some advice. Sometimes it is better NOT to know how the other half lives. I was with relatives who have money. I stayed at my cousins new house after her daughter's wedding in S. Carolina. They live in a "village" that was created as a retirement place for very rich people who like to play golf. I have never seen such beautiful houses. Hard to come home to my own tiny dirty dusty place. Made me go get a carpet cleaner which I should have bought a long time ago. My rugs look great, but my back is killing me.
Candice.....I have a friend at work who has to take medicine every once in a while cause she gets dizzy. Came on her all of a sudden, she couldn't get up off the floor where she had been sitting. Had to go to the hospital in an ambulance. I think it is more common than you think, but scary and debilitating.
And shoes?????? I wear Berkinstocks, or Dexters. No heels. I wore heels at this wedding and thought I would die. No dancing for me.
Haven't read all the posts..... hope all are well and happy.
Am going to go stare at my clean carpet some more before my kids come home with their dirty feet.:lol:
