Fibromyalgia #42
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I sure did. I haven't been able to get here, as I was having some computer problems.
Mima - sounds really serious. Good for you. Be happy. Ally - We will do it in 2002! I know we can. Joanne - I wanted to say congratulations on your anniversary. That is great. Hope you are having less problems with your knee now. Candice - How are ya doin? I could use a little of that quiet life again. That is what I am used to and I have been way to busy this month. I have had my little grand daughter here since Wednesday. Her mom and dad will come tomorrow afternoon and they will stay for New Years. She is such a good little girl, but loaded with energy. She thinks grandma has nothing else to do but sit and play all day and I guess she is right - at least while she is here. Meme - still rushing around! My goodness, I have no idea how you could have ever gained a pound to begin with. You are like a whirlwind. Here is a cute little thing for you all to go read. http://www.dobhran.com/humor/GRhumor225.htm |
A New Year's Toast to You
http://www.funforwards.com/poems_son...1/newyears.cfm
I hope everyone has a wonderful New Years Eve, and all the best to you and your families in 2002. |
Hi
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Happy ,nice to have you here as always. You always seem to have things to say that cheer us up. It is nice when the G/children are small, but then they grow up. Mine are more or less grown. That is a different kind of nice. I find myself searching for the more adult conversations with them. Candice. I find that I am doing the usual things all the time. After tomorrow I will get rid of all the Christmas for another year. I will go through the drawers and send out the old clothes to goodwill etc. What every other gal is doing. Life goes on and on.:dizzy: Meme,Ally We go back to counting points tomorrow. Oh Boy! Memi.. Marriage??You are truly hooked!! I hope he is really good to you. Bye for now... I got to get out the vacumn cleaner and get busy.. Joanne:wave: |
Happy New Year
Hi everone-will post more in Northampton. Yes, we definitely have marriage plans for sometime next year-sooner rather than later. When you are in your 60's traveling back and forth gets really exhausting even if it's only 30 minutes away. Ans he is wonderful!!!He's so easy to get along with and we have such a spiritual connection. I have known him for 3 years. I told my daughetr yesterday and she is ecstatic. Doesn't want me to be alone. I really didn't mind that though but this seems so right. Enough!!!!Hope everyone finds peace in the New Year and everything they need and some of the things they want. God Bless. Mima
|
Candice...if Mima is happy...who will happy be???
Mima...be sure to invite us to the Wedding...where will it be? Ally...I threw out my leftovers Saturday. I weighed yesterday morning before we left for Pigeon Forge and I had only gained 1/2 pound...not two like I thought. But...I went way over yesterday so I don't know what tomorrow will hold. What's the name of your book? The show was great and the food was wonderful last night...we had a great time. Guess that will be the last of the trips for awhile...it's back to work on Wednesday. Joanne...I don't care who you are you think your life is boring! You sound to me like you do a lot! (Just having a husband to take care of is a lot!!! :p Happy...I know what you mean about the grandchildren. Even if they are good they still need a lot of care and that takes a lot of energy...that I don't always have! My kids don't seem to understand that though...I'm not as young as I once was!!! I hope you all have a wonderful 2002 and lose down to your goal if you are not already there! (Me(me) Too!!!) :dizzy: |
Hey
Meme- You got that right.. A husband is a full time job. When They retire they look for things to get attention. Mine is from the "old school". He thinks we are put here to take care of all their needs and still all of everyone else. I do a lot and am wondering about it all.
I hope everyone had a nice New Years... I watched Dick Clark and talked to my kids at midnight. I was in the bed by 12.15.. I think that a lot of people did about the same thing this year. The neighbors got loud for about 10 min. Not much excitment. That's o.k. Bye...Joanne   |
Well, I already blew my low carbing. Didn't make it thru one day. I went and baked a cake for my kids as I had cleaned all the sweet stuff out. I have "cleaned" that cake too. Darn.
Mima...congrats. You sound happy and I am happy for you. I found lots of bargains today at the mall. I must've walked off half of the cake I ate.... Meme.....The book I read was called "a Plan for Women". It was funny, written by a man, of course, who pointed out all the stupid things women do for love.... Happy New Year all....... |
Nothing done for the sake of love is stupid!
I like thrillers! I can't believe it!!!!!!! I actually LOST a half a pound last week! CHRISTMAS WEEK...I LOST weight!!! Awesome! I've started back counting points again now, though. It would be real easy to slip off the wagon...hubby just said that last night. We came home about 1 a.m. and he started to prowl the kitchen. Then he said...I'm going to bed...it would be so easy to slip up after eating more the last week. I'm proud of him...he's lost 18 pounds on MY diet! Just had to upstage me...I've only lost 17.5 He is so different this year. Happy...Candice...you remember what happened last Christmas...how I almost walked out? Well this year he has decorated...without being asked...he's suggested going to the movies...which he doesn't like to do. He made the reservations for Pigeon Forge and then told me we were going. He dropped me off at Old Time Pottery yesterday while we were up there and went to Black and Decker for a grinder he needed for work and came back with a battery opperated ScumBuster...battery opperated...immersable...really neat thing with 8 different attachments. It was so sweet...he said I saw this and thought it might help your hands when you scrub out the tubs and showers and stuff!!! He even cooked dinner tonight. I was downstairs practicing and he called me on the phone and said, "Would you honor me with your presence for dinner!" He has changed so much. I think this is one of the best holidays we've ever had!!! Have you all made your resolutions yet? Let's hear some of them!!! I have resolved to lose down to between 140 and 145 this year. Also to finish my web design course and exercise more among other things. What did you resolve to do? (Or not to do...that is the question!) |
Meme..I'm happy for ya so what does that make Happy!
I was on the tredmill when the new year came in! I'm still op and maintaining.................Just what you all wanted to hear huh???? Joanne..my Dh is just like yours! Come clean my drawers out! I did my moms but can't seem to get mine done! Mima...a wedding how exciting! What ya wearing..please share with us! Happy......computer problems, bummer! Bet you are enjoying your grandaughter:) my older son has a serious girl now...Hummmmmmmm........ Ally....cake...shopping...cake... shopping......at least your are burning calories! Shopping is good exercise........ |
Hello
You guys are too funny!!!Right now I have a full time job training Brad not to be like my deceased Irish husband. He waits on me at his house and since we will be living there I hope that continues. I don't know when the wedding will be but I know I'll be there. My nutty work friends said they will have a shower for me but I said ben there, done that. Maybe we'll have a swap. Congrats Meme-about everything.,Hey Joanne-it's freezing here.Gotta go to work-Hi Ally, Happy, Candice. Mima
|
Hello
Meme- It sounds like you are so lucky!!!My hubby may have attempted to cook a couple meals in 48+ years. I had to fix the job. He was supposed to paint a door before the rain started today..Guess what ? He put plastic sheets on it!!I have just broke one of my resolutions. I must try to not only think better and not express my thoughts so freely. I have always said "if it is in my head ,it will come out my mouth".I want to lose a few more pounds. Sounds like you and your hubby are doing great. It is always easier for men to lose weight than it is for us.
Abby, Now you have to find a book written by a women pertaining to a plan for men. We have to see through their ways of getting around what they want. Sometimes they are so slick and we are the ones who get hurt. They just go their merry way. I hope you found some good stuff for yourself in the mall. Candice.. I have the boxes in the front room waiting for me to take down the Christmas stuff and put it away!! I can't stand to look at it another day!!My hubby is supposed to take down the lights outside. I will probably do that too.. Memi.. It is raining and supposed to turn cold tomorrow. I know ,It is colder there! My blood is too thin for anything under 60. I can tell you are sooo happy. Good for you.. Hello Happy I have to get busy.. Bye, Joanne  |
Oh Boy, a wedding. Now that is great. We can celebrate right here as well. I wish you all the best Mima - you do sound so very, very happy.
Joanne - I am with you. I am taking down all the Christmas decorations today as well. It seems like a big job, somehow. My grand daughter has now gone home. I really miss the little monkey. She has such a gleeful laugh and she is a bit of an imp. However, I think I could use the old boring life for a few days. She wanted to take grandma home with her; or she was willing to stay as long as she got see mommy and daddy for a while. Grandma is a lot more fun, I guess. I try not to spoil her, but that is impossible. Well, I hope you all started out with a great day yesterday, and I wish you all the best in 2002. Hi Ally, Meme and Candice. Oh, by the way, that still makes happy, happy! |
:?: I'm getting confused as to who's who on this thread!!!

What I want in a man
http://www.netlaughter.com/wantinman.htm
Mima and Ally - here is some reading for you, since you both like to read. Meme - don't you remember who is who in the zoo? |
hello
Thanks Happy -that was so funny and so true. It was so boring reading those compositions yesterday but I got a good night's sleeep so today will. be better. Need to stop eating rich foods-we went to the nicest restaurant last night-about 20 of us. Popovers, stuffed shrimp..Supposed to snow here on Sun/Mon. As long as the 16th is ok. Met an old acquaintance yesterday and we had a discussion about a mutual friend who has a drinking problem.I guess she's worse thatn I thought. She visited me in Fl last year and got drunk every night so this year I told her how much it bothered me but she cancelled out. It's really sad-I'm only used to males that drink too much-except for my brother's girlfriend. Why am I going on about this? We talked about doing a confrontation.Well-gotts call Brad before I get ready for work. Hi to all. Mima
|
Hey There
It is raining again today... We need it.
Happy . I got real busy and in short order had all the Christmas stuff put away. I took down the outside lights and all. I guess the nerves set in and gave me the energy. All done and back to normal ,whatever normal is . What's up Meme? Did I get you and Mima mixed up.. It would have been possible lately. The last couple weeks have been all messed up for me. I guess we all have days like that. Mima.. When is the wedding? Maybe when you come to Florida? I see a lot of weddings on the beach when I walk. I told my son if he ever finds someone that was the way to go. Not expensive. Hello Candice and Ally... Bye. Joanne:wave:  |
I hope you didn't get me and Mima mixed up...I'd hate to have to break in a new man!!!
|
Hey There
Meme- Pretty Good:lol:   I wouldn't try to break in another man. But ,I think I am older than you. Been there done that and don't have the energy to do it again...Joanne:)
|
Happy...I sent that page to all my buddies at work. That was so funny but so true......!!!
And Meme. I am very very happy for you. It looks like you have waitined a while and put up with a lot but good things come to those who wait. Good for you. But I could write you a long long list of the things I have done for love that I regret. Mima....I hope you can send us all pics of the wedding. A shower isn't a bad idea. But ask only for really expensive towels and sheets that you would never buy for yourself. I want some of those. I don't know if I would go thru with a wedding to get one. Candice.....shopping. Yes indeed. I got some really good bargains. Had a little short fat lady following me around wanting a 2 piece jumper set I had on my arm. Finally I said "this wouldn't fit you.....it is way too long" she said....."but it is only $20". Joanne......My hubby was a bit like yours. ONCE he fixed a meal when the kids were little. Tried making one grilled cheese sandwich at a time while the kids were screaming. He put butter on both sides of the bread so they were greasy, and he put milk in the tomato soup. ( I don't make it that way). I didn't say a word cause I wanted so much to demonstrate that I appreciated the help and the thought. But the kids wouldn't eat either cause "it's not like mommy's" and he refused to ever do it again. Now that we are split up I understand that he has conquered chili and drive thru windows. |
Hi All
Joanne - I got my house back in order yesterday. The tree down and all the Christmas stuff put away. Like you, I wouldn't bother breaking in a new fella - the one I have spoils me to much. He doesn't cook much, but that is ok. He does lots of other stuff for me and I really appreciate it.
Mima - If you get to comfortable look out - the pounds tend to slip on :lol. I am sure happy for you. Ally - glad you enjoyed the little ditty. It was really kind of cute. Candice - where are you. Meme - I forgot yesterday to mention that I am so happy for you, that you and your hubby are getting on better. That is sooo nice to here. You had a rough time last year, but maybe it was a good wakeup call for him - whatever, glad it is working out. You have invested a way to many years now. Well, for Christmas I got a cordless mouse and keyboard and I love them. Now, I have to install the digital camera and figure out how that works - then look out. I will be picture crazy. Hope you are all feeling good. Meme, are you getting hit with the snow storm? |
Happy did you say Meme lived in the zoo!
Mima..we all want to see your wedding pictures! Joanne..my dh can make a frozen dinner in the microwave! Ally..20 dollars, that is a good deal. Meme..sounds like your Dh is spoiling you too now! I got my fall pics back:) |
Hello
Hi-Glad to be home again til the 16th even though I spend a lot of time in Westminster which is a half hour from here. Ok-I ate pizza last night-that's it!!!!I'm allergic to pizza which is why it tasted so good. I have a list of stuff to do today and then we're going to a Christian Singles thing where there will be some dancing. I have this unbelievable list of stuff I have to do before I go away. How is your arm Candice? You can get Meme and I mixed up because I have as much stuff to do as she does!!Even when I get to FL. -my son is selling some baseball cards on e-bay and we have to do some serious shipping. Hi all. Have a good day. Mima

Did anyone see Oprah Thursday????? Here is link for the show.
http://www.oprah.com/tows/pastshows...D3EF5LARAYFCFEQ http://boards.oprah.com/WebX?13@@.ef18273!DYNID= On emtional eating??????????? They say it is emotional if you eat anything and you are not hungry..well I am hungry all the time so does that count! I don't consider myself and emotional eater, but when I take meds that increase my appetite I eat all the time I guess but I eat because I am hungry....and somethings just plain taste good! |
Hi
Candice- Good for you.. I doubt that my hubby could even do that. I know he would hand it to me to do. You must live in the country. The fields in your picture a beautiful. My daughter has a ranch in the north part of Florida. I love being up there. I can sit at her pool and look out over the fields and watch the cows etc.
Memi- Happy and meme.. Hello I am having some arthritis pain in my shoulder/arm so this is short.. Bye...Joanne    |
Hello
Finally home to start packing and organizing. We went to a Christian Singles group in Nashua NH last night and they had some dancing. It was nice -Brad doesn't like to dance as much as me but oh well. That was for the single days. Cooking fish tonight-he's going to try some of my salmon which is so good for you. I haven't gained weight surprisingly but I am so busy. Can't wait to walk in FL. Now he's coming down for a month. That will be a good test!!!!Gotta keep up the organizing momentum. Bye and hi to all!!!Mima
|
Candice...You and your mother are so attractive. You have nothing to fear with aging.
Mima...allergic to pizza? Maybe I should tell myself that!! I made a big pot of onion soup. Put a piece of swiss cheese on top but left out the pumpernickel bread. I could eat a gallon of it. And hunger? Yes, I have been so hungry this week trying to get carbs out of my system. I will check out those Oprah links.... |
Thanks Ally, Mom was really pretty when she was younger and she aged well untill the Alzheimers took hold and she starting forgetting to eat ndn lost weight very fast and now her skin just hangs on her! Her Boobs too! Gravity... ya gatta hate it!
That onion soup sounds really good and very low points with out the bread. Do you make it form scratch and do the onions give you gas????????????? Seriously now! Joanne, yes we are in the country between two rual towns( right smack in the middle and I love it..no sosy neighbors like we ahd in Iowa in town! Your daughters Ranch sounds wondrful! Mima...Dancing is good exercise but I guess he plans to get his exercise another way!LOL (does he have bedroom eyes????);) I love salmon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My anniversay Hummel! |
No gas that I can recall..... But I have the house to myself this weekend so no one is yelling at me for tooting.
I used sweet onions. Maybe stronger ones do that to you. It is very easy...sliced onions, some butter and garlic cooked til tender, then add some worchestershire sauce, beef stock and cook for a while longer. Yummy. Just gives me bad breath!!! |
Hello
Onions give me wicked gas but I love onion soup. I live on Beano and Gas Rid whatever. But it works. It snowed last night so I have to move my car. 9 more days til FL........I'll wave to you as I fly over, Joanne. 2 weeks alone and then Brad will be down for a month. Very different this year. But I'll be sure glad to walk. And swim. Heated pool and whirlpool where I am. And then I get to see Alison. Hey Meme-did you get snow? Candice-that's a beautiful anniversary figure. Gotta go get dressed and shovel. Hi to all. Mima
|
Hi guys...I'm upaset (as Ross says!). I didn't lose any weight last week...as a matter of fact, I GAINED 2.5 pounds. I'm hoping it is mostly water weight as we got about 3 or 4 inches of very wet snow yesterday. One pound wouldn't have surprised me much as I ate at the top of my points most days and went a little over one or two days but I didn't think I'd gain 2.5. I'm just going to hang-in until next week and see what happens...guess I'll be eating at the BOTTOM of my points all this week!
|
Hi Everyone
Hope you haven't been getting a lot of snow. Here the weather is incredible. It is +6 today or about 44 degrees above zero. The ground is white and it will stay like that until the spring, but we don't have much snow, as haven't had anything to speak of for at least a month. El Nino is out in the pacific and it is bringing the warm air into Western Canada, so needless to say, we love him a lot.
Now, tomorrow, I am going to start water exercies and go twice a week to start. If I can handle that, with this wonderful back of mine, I will increase it to 3 times a week in a couple of months. I am looking forward to this - I love it. It makes me feel alive, that is until the pain sets in, which usually happens, but since my back feels better that it has in years, I hope it will be ok. Meme - don't worry about the gain, just get back on track. It will just take a week longer to get where you are going. You have done so well. Mima - I bet you are getting excited about getting to Florida - and then having a nice guest. I hope everything goes as planned and you have nice weather so you can get walking. Joanne, are you having those cold temperatures as well? Not so good for Florida is it! Ally - I love onion soup and make it occassionally. In just tastes so good. Candice - Love the picture of you and your Mom. She is pretty young looking as well. Alzheimers does take it's toll on them however. Love the hummel and I don't know if you got my e-mail, but thanks for the pictures. I really did enjoy them, and you really live out in the country. Myself, I prefer at least a small town, but really like the city best - the bigger the better. Well everyone, keep warm and happy. |
Hey There
Meme- Don't get too upset. This happens to all of us. Saddly sometimes the weight doesn't show up till a week or so after the fact. It may only be fluid. Did you eat out a lot? Most foods have salt in them when you eat out.
Hello to All my friends. It is cold here in west central Florida. I walked to the beach this evening and had to turn around and not get the full walk on the causeway. The wind almost blew me down. I still got my 3 miles. I was glad when my Hubby came after me. Happy ,I had to cover plants already last week.. I have a lot of tropical plants. That's why I don't get rid of the old sheets. I hope the cold will be here long enough to balance the bug population. The bad thing is they try to come into the house. My son is going to bomb the place sometime this week. That's florida. My house was built in 1946,so it is not real tight. Memi - wave when you fly over. Ally- I like onions too. I use them in about everything. I don't worry about gas. So what!At my age most of us have it anyhow and that is not the worst of our problems. Bye for now ... Joanne  |
Meme, were ya eatin' that wet snow or just using your scale outside! I never gained any except water while on WW so I know it can happen but if you are eating right and not cheating at all you should be ok and remeber that muscle weighs more than fat too and maybe you picked up some of that!
Ally....oh that sounds good and I'm freezing! Onions do make me toot though but then again I am full hot air! Anne...Yes I got your email, thought I answered it but it must of gotten lsot! my puter has been acting up lately. Too many pictures!LOL Joanne..Mima has a new beau so she doens't want o fart him away! Mima..Beeno dose not work for me..nothing does and I love gasey foods, they are healthy too! Today was cleaning day and now I have to go find something to eat..soup sounds good agin..had that for lunch but I'm cold! |
Neither one Smart-*SS...
Wet snow, like rain, makes me swell...especially my knees...I can't even bend the right one. Oh well...at least I don't have GAS!  I've been good today...below points. I've been walking 2 or 3 times a week and doing Oxycise, too, so you could be right about the muscle weight...imagine that...ME with muscles! No school again tomorrow...be glad when this snow is gone!!! Hope you guys get over your "onion soup"!!! :o |
Meme..I wish my *ss was smart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(we all no I don't have a brain..all air up there!) Must be all that soup!LOL  :dizzy:
Seriously... if you have been walking I bet it is muscle so don't get upset with yourself or the program cause it does work! Hope your knee gets better, I just bloat from humidity and gas!:o Thanks for posting the great picture of me going from buff to a balloon! All that hot air ya know! Off to watch Oprah again I taped it! |
Hello
I love you guys -it's so much fun to read your posts. As for gas and a new beau-you can't get away from it-at my age and his -we just laugh-relationships in your 60's are really funny!!!Chiro yesterday, rheumo and massage today!!The week of appts before I go to FL. I haven't seen Brad for 2 days -how will I survive 2 weeks? Except I will make myself busy. He has work to catch up on before he goes !!He is putting heat in at his church. It snowed again last night. Car goes on Thurs so I won't have to deal with it after that. Even though it's cold in FL-it's always warmer and good walking weather. My son has lots of shipping for me to do.I always say that I work for food-he feeds me and I ship.Brad being there will change the dynamics but they will have to get used to it-anyways , he's very social so it won't be a problem. I used to go out with my daughter-in-law and her mother sometimes but we'll have to work around that. Bye for now and hi to all. Happy, be careful and don't overdo the exercises-I still used to pull things but it was great!!!!Mima
