Fibromyalgia #42

Well nice to hear from you Meme - sorry you are run off your feet, but those little ones will do that every time. Try catch a bit of rest.

Candice - good snowman -really cute.

Mima - It sounds like you have the life of a teeniebopper! Go girl - Enjoy it. Perhaps you can outrun the pain:lol:

Ally - Things will get better - just give it a chance. It is to bad you have to work with the gentleman, but I guess that is the way it is. I hope you don't let this bring you down during Christmas - it's not worth the anguish.

Joanne - Nuts and Bolts are made with Cheerios, Shreddies, Nuts, Pretzils, cheese sticks (I used the Goldfish this year). I like to make my own because i can control the salt and fat that are in them, and they taste so good. I put in lots of mixed nuts and peanuts.

Monday, I was so tired I hardly knew my name. I didn't even have the energy to go to the chiro for a back adjustment. My neck was sore and I couldn't turn it to the left. Also, my arms weighed about 80 pounds each. Finally felt a little bit better yesterday and went to the Chiro. Needed an adjustment and the pain in my neck, shoulder, arms, and lower back have gone. My arms are light again. Pressure on nerves I guess. Everytime I moved on Monday evening, I got a muscle spasam going in the lower back, and boy does that bite. Anyway, doing much better after yesterday - energy even returned.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hi

Happy- Nuts and bolts sounds ok. I will be lucky to get to my Betty Crocker cookie dough at the rate I am going. I thought I was all through shopping ,now I find I need to get another for a nephew that will be here for Christmas. I haven't seen him in 22 yrs. It will be simple.I don't have much brain power left.:dizzy:
Ally, Stop the crying! Dress up like a million dollers and go to that party and have a ball. You came out ahead of the game..
Hello to all .talk to you tomorrow..Joanne:wave:

Ally0306 12-19-2001 07:54 PM

Joanne....My kids think the only way you make homemade cookies is from a Betty Crocker package.:dizzy:
No crying here. I had a talk with this guy today who apologized for getting me in the middle of this and hurting me. I said there is no harm done. Luckily we didn't get too far into this so extracting myself from the whole thing is not all that difficult. Said that I feel SORRY for him. I tried to "work" on a marriage many times in my life and know there is not much in his to even work on. I would not want to be in his shoes. I really do have it made being single. It took me a second to remember that, but I really do. After my kids go to their father's on Christmas I go to a friends house where a lot of us formerly married girls all meet and we eat snacks and drink beer and play cards. I love it.

Mima 12-20-2001 06:19 AM

Hello

Good attitude Ally-Happy-the day I moved I did not get a wink of sleep, the fibro was so bad. My daughter has gone back with her boyfriend -I don't remember if I posted that they broke up. I was going to have to have Christmas but now I'm not. I've been overeating-too tired to have willpower. We wnt to the mall last night-was it bad!!!!!I was so happy I had my shopping done. Then for ice cream. I'm NOT SUPPOSED TO EAT ICE CREAM!!!!I'm allergic. Gotta get back on track. I did buy myself a sweater to wear to Brad's family part. I can't wait to be back home. This work is stressful but we have a lot of laughs. Poat more at home. Mima

Candicej 12-21-2001 12:47 AM

I'm still trying to maintain and thought maybe I was up due to the baking and sampleing!:smug: Doing laundry too, Dh needed all his stuff washed, did my sons yesterday. Cold here now!

Mima 12-21-2001 05:47 AM

Hello

I've been up since 4. I guess I'll have time to pack up and be to work by 8. Which is down the hall. Finally stayed in last night to watch tv and it was all reruns!!!!!I also swam a bit and that was so good. Can't wait to be in that warm pool in FL.My 2 younger children had a spat-got to stay out of it-They are like fire and oil somtimes. Bobby is having a hard time adjusting to his move.I wish he had a girlfriend -it would make all the difference. One of my son's foster children is moving to CO. It's going to be hard on my grandaughter because she's been best friends with him since they were 4. He has been at their house for a year-mom drinks-Life is one change after another. Hope everyone is fine. Where are you going Candice-I missed the post.Bye for now Mima

Ally0306 12-21-2001 01:07 PM

OK Mima...How old is Bobby? Oh God, slap me silly. I just talked myself out of wanting a relationship.
Can't have another Bob anyway. That is my son and my brother.
Candice...........someday I would like to say that I don't need to lose anymore weight. Do you know that losing some number of pounds has been my New Year's resolution since I was about 15??????? And some of those years I was thin, but never thin enough.
This year, I think I want peace of mind.
Oh yeah, and to win the lottery.

Happy Canuk 12-21-2001 07:32 PM

Well, my goodness. I was so busy that past couple of days, I feel like Meme:lol I finally got sugar cookies baked yesterday - still have to decorate them, but that can be done tomorrow. Ran around doing all the December business today (banks etc) and have gotten my Vehicle Reg. all looked after now. All this stuff is due before the end of the month and next week I will have the little one with me, so it was easier to do it today.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas - just plain out - enjoy yourself, I know I will. We are heading out Sunday and won't be back until late Wednesday.

Candice - are you going to visit your mom? I don't think I heard where you were going either.

Meme - don't overwork yourself. Everything will be just fine.

Mima - enjoy that man and hope you both have a wonderful christmas.

Ally - Party, party, party. Have a good time.

Joanne - Hope your Christmas is wonderful

Mima 12-22-2001 05:52 PM

Mima 12-24-2001 08:30 AM

Happy Christmas Eve

Hi all-seems like everyone is busy. I would be making my lasagna but I forgot the ricotta. Where is my brain. I have 1 dozen pink roses in my living room so that will tell you where my brain is. I went from feeling unsafe and insecure after 9/11 to this.God is very good. I hope you enjoy Christmas in your new place , Happy. And everyone elso on the east coast of the US. Well, I guess NY and ILL. are a bit inland. I will probably be out of cyberspace til Wed. Church tonight and my daughter's tomorrow. Mima

Ally0306 12-24-2001 11:18 AM

Hey Mima...Got a whole bunch of ricotta in my freezer for ya. I made a huge pan of stuffed shells and even had some ricotta left. It is buy one get one free.
And I do envy you the pink roses this time of year. I know that I got my hopes up cause it IS so nice to spend the holidays in love. And because that did not pan out, I seem especially prickly this season. In fact, when my kids started fighting this morning I slammed out of the house and drove around feeling sorry for myself.
Girls.......I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. We can all come back and commiserate on Wednesday about the holiday pounds we have gained. It is so nice to have a place to vent. I am thankful for you all.:)

MemeToo 12-25-2001 11:33 PM

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. We had fun with the little ones. Jenna (2) got a little piano with a bench, pedal and microphone that really works. She played the piano and sang all day long! We got the other 3 little kid computers...Kaylyn (4) learning lap top, and the boys the Leap Frog laptop reader...their parents played with them all day long!!! Told them I'd get them one of their own next year! I got hubby a trolling motor for his boat and he got me A DIGITAL CAMARA!!!!!!! It is a really expensive one and I LOVE IT! The kids sneaked off a month or so ago and had their pictures made together. They all dressed just alike, in orange, and had their pictures made in the woods with all the orange leaves...they are sooooo neat!!! I got a huge one of all 8 of them and an 8X10 one of the little ones. They gave us wallets, too so I'll scan them and show you all later...too tired tonight! I'm headed for bed....ate way too much food today! But it was so good. I had turkey, dressing and spiral ham along with all the trimmings. Then we had homemade (by me) pumpkin pies, milky way cake and apple stack cake for dessert. Plus the girls brought wonderful snack foods for after gifts when we played games...choc. covered peanut butter crackers and pretzels, etc. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

Mima 12-26-2001 07:15 AM

Hello

Hi al-oh yes-I ate too much. Hey Meme-sounds like all your prep work paid off. What a nice day you had. Oh Ally, hang in there .Two years ago I was so angry because I had been dumped. Now I know I was dumped by a jerk. You have to let go of one thing to get another.
We had a nice day yesterday at my daughter's house. We have been so busy meeting each othetr's family. Tonight we are going to his sister's for a party. I have a beautiful diamond cross on my neck!!! This whole thing is unbelievable.Hey Joanne-how are you? And Happy and Candice. Rest up today girls. Mima

Joanne D 12-26-2001 09:11 AM

Hey There

Meme..Sounds like you had a great Christmas... It is really nice when the G/children are small and cute..and then they grow up. It is the best when they don't think they are too old to still give you hugs and kisses. I got a lot of those this week!
Mima.. This has been a good Holiday.. We are getting the first real cold spell today/night.. Of course when everyone goes home and the clean up goes into full swing..
This is my 48th wedding anniversary...We are going to just recoop from Christmas.. Maybe have a snack or two.. I can say not much as I ate far too much this week.
Hello to Happy, Ally and Candice. I hope you had a really great Christmas..
Bye, Joanne:wave:

Ally0306 12-26-2001 01:33 PM

Happy Anniversary Joanne. What were you thinking getting married at the Holidays? Wanted to make sure your hubby would never forget your anniversary? I would be afraid I wouldn't get my fair share of gifts.....
Glad the hoopla is over. I get a little too anxious and down at the holidays.
AND.....I eat too much. I tried to just do my low carb today and already have hit the leftover chips...
I ate a ton of candy last nite saying that I would stop by today. That means I have to throw some stuff out....

Mima 12-27-2001 08:19 AM

hello

Last night was meet his family night and it was nice.Mom must like me because she wants my same hairdo which I will get frosted today.Still haven't gained weight. That will change. Brad has lost 10 lbs since last summer. Happy Anniversary Joanne. I was always envious of people who stayed married a long time but it wasn't in the cards for me. And I guess it won't be because i'm 63. Never even made it to 10 years. But my brother has been married almost 30. Going for a walk with Auntie today. Bye for now. Mima

Joanne D 12-27-2001 09:25 AM

Hi

Ally- I am not sure what I was thinking at the time.. We had been dating for almost 4 years and I guess it was the thing to do.. In those years couples did not live together. I was living in nursing residence and he lived at home. We both needed a home. It was meant to be I guess. A lot of living has gone into these years. We have two wonderful children and two wonderful G/children.
Mima.. The years have gone by and it sometimes doesn't seem like 48.. There are always the rough times..The quiet times too.
Hello Candice, Happy and Meme.. All my company have gone home and I have great hopes of getting back to normal. The last of the Christmas pies went down my hubby's stomach this morning. It is going to be a salad day today. :) I gained a couple pounds but I think it was fluid from too much salty food. I walked yesterday and didn't sleep much last night . I don't think the knee injection did much good. That's life .
Bye you all. I am going to try and have a very quiet New Year.. We like to light a candle or two and watch Dick Clark..
Joanne:wave:

MemeToo 12-27-2001 04:26 PM

No quiet New Year for me! (QUIET??? WHAT'S QUIET???????)

We are going to Pigeon Forge on Sunday after church. Have reservations at the Dixie Stampede for the 8:30 dinner and Christmas show. Reserved a Suite at the Comfort Inn for Sunday night. Then back home Monday in time to take a nap before the watch service from 8-12...then we usually go to Shoney's for the all night breakfast bar after that! Then we sleep in on New Year's Day. I'm going to go rent some movies tonight...enough to last until Sunday. Have all 4 kids tomorrow night so I'll probably only need 3 or 4. My 11 days off will be gone before I know it!!!

I ate too much again yesterday but I'm trying really hard to get back on the program today! It's so hard with all the leftovers...I'll be glad when they are gone. I'm throwing out everything after Sunday so just 2 more days left!

MemeToo 12-28-2001 02:02 AM

Dust if you must,
but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture,
or write a letter, bake a cake, or plant a seed.
Ponder the difference between want and need.

Dust if you must, but there is not much time,
with rivers to swim and mountains to climb!
Music to hear, and books to read,
friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world's out there
with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
a flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
this day will not come round again.

Dust if you must, but think of this,
one day old age will come you know,
And when you go, and go you must,
you, yourself, will make more dust.

Mima 12-28-2001 05:34 AM

Hi guys.

hello-woke up at 4-so much on my little mind-But I went for a walk yesterday in the freezing cold-my friend told me she can't come down to FL for 9 days which is good because she likes to drink and I told her it bothered me and she said she would be good but it would be on my mind. Brad is happy because he was going to have to wait til she left to come down. Time to start eating healthy again and walk. After 1/16 I can walk in warm weather.Son's Christmas presents hae not arrived yet.I hope we can spend a quiet New Year's also-we have 2 invites but I'd rather watch a video and have Chinese food. I have to travel to Northampton the next day. Good day everone. Mima

Joanne D 12-28-2001 06:32 PM

Hey There

Meme- I also ate too much.. I tried to get everything out of the house but ,I keep finding things. Jan 1 will be here soon. I will clean house then. My hubby bought more chips today. He said for N.Y.
Mima- You are coming to Fla. in Jan ..I hope the weather is good for you then. You don't need your friend when you have your honey.
Ally ..Hang in there . The right one will show up one day when you least expect it.That is what my sister keeps saying about my son. He is 43 and I would love for him to find someone, but, only if they will make him happy. He had one unhappy marriage.
Hello Candice and Happy..
Bye you all...Joanne:wave:

MemeToo 12-28-2001 07:43 PM

I've gained 2 1/2 pounds...groan! :( Oh well...Christmas only comes 'round once a year & it was soooo good! I didn't eat that many sweets...it's the turkey and dressing I go for...oh yes, and the strawberry salad!!! I will hit the wagon big time on Tuesday! At the Dixie Stampede they serve vegetable soup in a cup, a whole rotisserie chicken (tiny) & hickory smoked barbecued pork, a large slice of herb roasted potato, corn on the cob, a homemade biscuit and an apple turnover... all without silverwear!!! They serve your tea in a mason jar, too! That will be Sunday night so all I'm eating Sunday until then is a turkey salad sandwich...we are leaving right after church. I will be glad to get away...NO KIDS! I have 2 again tonight...had one yesterday. I love my grandchildren but I need a break away from them every now and then...I had their pictures ready to scan to show you but my scanner doesn't work now...guess I'll have to reload the software.

Took down all the outside lights, tree, both villages and the manger scenes and all table & wall decorations today. What a job! All I have left is the electric candles in the windows and I think I'll leave those there 'till after New Years...I kind of like them.

Hope you are all having a great Holiday! Just 4 more days and we can get back to normal! (What ever the heck THAT is!)

Candicej 12-29-2001 01:01 AM

I'm back and in so much pain!!!!!!!!!! Traveling is too much for me but I do enjoy seeing the family! I know some of the pain is from to many sweets although I am still op, I have indulged in more sweets than normal! My sis has gained so she gave me some of her tiny clothes and I'm sending her some big ones!LOL

Joanne, We went to Missouri to see the rest of my family. I know what you mean about salt, my brother had smoked ham and turkey and they were loaded with it! I managed to do well with my eating but will wait a few days for the water to go off before weighing! Happy Anniversay!!!!!!!!!!!

Meme, I leave all my stuff up way into Feb....cause I like looking it!!!! Nothing real Christmasy though. Have a good trip and that food sounds wonderful!

Ally...I need to give away some more sweets but dh likes them so well.......he doesn't need them either! He is the biggest he has been since I met him, 235 and is 6 fot so he does not look to bad but he looks uncomfortable to me with his big spare tire!LOL

Mima, so you met the family huh???? Is this getting serious?

Happy, you get your cookies frosted????? I still have some in the freezer...need to forget about them!

Mima 12-29-2001 06:43 AM

Hello

Hi there-finally found out where you were Candice and am glad you had a good time. Yes, this is serious. My life did a 180 degree turn and it's great. Must say I'm a bit tired and feel like I have a bit of a cold. My grandaughter is here (step) so we will do something today and then i'll bring her to her Dad's. I have to go back to Northampton Tues. afternoon but after 2 days, I won't work until may. I will be happy to get to FL.=it's so cold here. Hey Ally-how was Christmas? Hi to everyone else, Happy, Joanne, Meme Mima

Ally0306 12-29-2001 11:20 AM

I needed an omen. And Meme...your poem did it. I was just procrastinating. Need to do some serious dusting and cleaning. And now......I think I will go read for a while.
Holidays are just too emotionally labile for me. I felt like a pincushion. All you had to do was poke me and I would cry.
I am going to go grind the rest of my ham into ham salad. When you said turkey salad, meme, that did it.
Anything else you can offer???
That meal you had soounds wonderful. I love the traveling and fun things you do.
I turned down a New Year'/s eve party. Not in the mood for drinking, and then driving home. Will take my son to the movies and then to a China Buffet where I will eat too much.......

MemeToo 12-29-2001 03:09 PM

Ally...we can dust and diet next week. I'm not going to ruin my vacation by worrying about a little dust and I'm certainly not going to pass up my favorite foods at Christmas time. I went into this WW diet knowing that Christmas was coming. I was very good during Thanksgiving...even lost weight that week...but if I gain a couple of pounds this week I will just take it back off next week! Life if too short to stress about dust and food ALL the time! The Bible says everything has it's own season ... this is the season for enjoying yourself! So...my advise is to do what makes you feel the best for three more days...if that's reading a book and eating ham salad then go for it! Then Tuesday dust your house and plan your weight loss strategy for 2002.

Candicej 12-30-2001 06:02 AM

I'm with you Meme and Ally! This is my second Christmas on WW and it was harder this year cause I'm trying to maintain(losing is so much easier..really gals) ally you can have some of my chocolates while you read your book!

Still trying to cut back on the sweets, last night I didn't even eat all my points for a change! Is it possible that some of the caffine free tea I drink has some caffine in it??? I can't handel caffine and after a cup I get really tense sometimes..( I drink the Gevalia geen tea and herbal tea and they say if is caffine free)just wondering if any of you know??? I know chocolate does and if I eat too much it bothers me too!

Mima..hope your cold gets better! You sound so Happy !

Hi Anne, and Joanne:)

Joanne D 12-30-2001 08:38 AM

Hi

Meme ,you and Candice have the right idea.. I decided to not worry so much until Jan.2... It is harder to maintain than lose.. I have said that all along and I don't know really why. It is equally just as hard to lose beyond your goal weight. I bounce between my highest point and 3 lbs below.
I didn't see as much candy this Holiday as in the past. Maybe because I tried not to look. I have candy canes still on the tree and have only had 2. I did gain a couple lbs though. I think we all will do fine. We are not going out for New Years Eve so I will only eat a few snacks and go to bed at midnight. Not much temptation there. Does this sound boring? That's life as some people say..
Bye:dizzy: Joanne:wave:

Mima 12-30-2001 09:40 AM

Hello

Hi all-from cold NE-my daughter just found out how serious Brad and I are-was she funny!If/when we get married , my new initials will be GAS which fits me perfectly!!Don't forget I've known him for 3 years if you think we are rushing this,.I have to tell myself that all the time!My stepgrandaughter slept over and we went to the mall-I had fun with my gift certificates-I wanted some $50 shoes and I wouldn't spend the money but I bought them with the cert. Jessica also got a pair of shoes which took one hour to decide on. Last time it was 2 so she broke her record. We had fun!!!Cooked scallops last night-they were good but I put too much lemon. I wish Brad likes salmon because thet's so good for you.Gotta get ready for church-he has gone to his. Have a good day all. Mima

Ally0306 12-30-2001 12:14 PM

Oh Mima... I love what your initials would be. That is an omen.
I am going to clean out the cupboards today. Eat a few sinful things and then get rid of the stuff that I know I have to ignore for a while.
It is nice to let yourself go for a while, but eventually my body WANTS me to be disciplined.

Candicej 12-30-2001 11:30 PM

Alley just when I was sending you my chocolates!LOL

Mima..GAS that is to funny!!! Have you both talked about marriage already?????

Joanne..your life is not boring sounds like mine!LOL

Hi Meme, are having fun??

Happy where are you?
