  • Jennelle - what is your anxiety related to? For me, I once had a near-fatal allergic reaction to a medication that made me petrified to take other medications. When it was at its worst, I parked my car in the ER parking lot, took the pill, and read for an hour...when no reaction happened, I drove home. I did this two days in a row with a new medication, after which I took it with the phone on my hip for two days. Finally, I was OK with taking the medication. Basically, you need to convince yourself that taking that pill is safe. If you need to keep a phone nearby or sit in the ER parking lot or whatever, you can do that for a couple of days until taking the pill feels safe to you.
  • JENN: Synthroid is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone your body makes. It is almost identical and will not cause any serious reactions. You may find that your anxiety will improve if you take it, as low thyroid can cause depression, as well as slow metabolism and all the problems associated with it.
  • Jennelle I sure hope that you are now taking your synthroid. By the time I was forced to drag my sorry butt into the Dr.'s office my TSH was 203.something. Yes triple digets are really really bad. I was unable to sleep through the night, too tired to move, colder than cold and parinoid. They had to milk my arm for the first couple of blood tests!! Don't let that happen to you!!
