Good morning.

Tammy - that poor woman. It is funny how everything seems to pile up in a life, now and then. I hope she can find a way to retire and find some peace.

Mima - Glad you are enjoying painting. I have NEVER been good at art or crafts. No patience for one thing lol.

Meme - Well aren't you just having the time of your life! I hope the new drops help. You should have called for help, however. Driving when you can't see right is just plain dangerous, not only for yourself, but for others as well. NEXT TIME, call!

Disability is really hard to get. I was on it for 2 years, when the insurance company deemed I was just fine to go back to work!! They had NEVER had one of their own Drs. SEE me, they just sent them info. from a pysiotherepist, and these Drs that work for them, said I was fine to go back to work. Didn't matter what MY specialist said. I did get a lawyer, but the only one getting any money was him. Finally, I just gave up. The stress of trying to get it is terrible. At the time, I had NO diagnosis of FM, but the OA in my lower back was considered the same as if I had lost an arm, and that is why I got it to begin with. It took me 8 years after that before I could even look at doing something casual and then it had to be the perfect balance. Still is that way. However, over the years, I have gotten better, thank God.

Well, I had better go get ready for work.

Hi Joanne and Chris.

Default Hey There

I had no problem getting disability, neither did my hubby. He had to get a second opinion but all it took for me is my doctor to send in the paper work. maybe it is easier in Florida.
I am sure the puppy will be more enjoyable once she is house trained. Things are not so easy right now. She has only left a puddle on the floor 2 times and in the kitchen. That is easy to clean up. I just have to take her out every 2+ hours and we haven't licked the night time. She is in her cage at night and often wets there. Maybe she is too young yet. I heard where pugs are not easy to train. I will get a book today and see if there is a better way. The net just wants to sell me a book. I may just need to find the right site. Anyway, I hope I can resolve this soon.
Tammy- The waiting for the date to retire must be difficult. Time always goes slowly when we have a date in sight.
Meme- Eye problems are bad but a Dr. with no sence is worse.. I had one who wanted to put me on mood elevators when I had a ulcer.I took a few and was like a zombie. He got real upset when I told him what he could do with them.I won't take anything like them or any others. The side effects down the line is unknown untlll it is too late. Some doctors will give us things just to get us out of the office so they can go to the next 50-100 dollars. They are not happy when they get a nurse in there and she will look up every med. and decide if she wants to take it or not. That is what we all should do.
Mima- There were some things in the fridg I should have thrown out. My hubby ate most of them.I will get rid of the rest today. It is going to be a muggy day again. Tops tonight. I hope I will at least be on target.. I have been watching. My scale is about 2 lbs under tops scale..
Happy-The turkey showed his face for just a few minutes and was gone It looks bigger. I can't imagine why anyone would want to eat a wild turkey. They are so tough. No fat there.
Hello Chris...Candice ,where are you? Joanne

Meme, I'm so sorry about the headache you had, and independent or not young lady, you should have called for someone to come to get you. Yes, I can say supercali......, but I might have trouble getting the letters in the right order!!

Mima, so glad you enjoy painting. There is not an artistic bone in my body.

Anne, the disability issues are amazing. When they don't even see you themselves and make a decision that you are just fine, that's ridiculous. I have a friend in Arizona who finally is receiving disability. She has allergies and fibro, and it took several years for her to receive it.

Joanne, hope the puppy gets trained soon. Cleaning up messes or going out every 2 hours can get to be a pain. That's funny how the turkey just shows up every now and then. Maybe he's checking you out!!

Went to WW tonight and was up 1/2 pound. From the week before Christmas till now I am up 2 pounds on their scales. I guess that isn't too bad, but I wish I would have lost instead. The lady beside me tonight told me that she had fallen off the wagon a couple weeks before Christmas and the wagon rolled over her. She had a gain of 6.5 pounds. We both decided we really need to get back on the wagon for 2007.

2 pounds isn't bad!!
I got a help e-mail from my son-his blind 10 year old lab mix bit his neighbor-2 times in 2 years-that dog has always been aggressive. He doesn't know what to do-he loves that dog but..................Auntie had a lot of dogs and one bit Suzanne in the face and had to be put down. At least the neighbor wasn't upset.
Joanne, I never had to train a dog but it sounds difficult. the dog whisperer -on tv and in books -probably has some good advice. He even helped Oprah with one of her dogs.
Lunch today with a friend.
We got our tax notice and it went up 25%. $600. Our rent here went up 23--so that's 73 a month more-there goes our cola. But Cassidy used to cost $50 a month.
So there's talk about moving downstairs again. But it's a we'll see. We could get $7oo for downstairs and 1200 for upstairs. It would be a lot of work to move downstairs. We have to keep the house for 5 more years because Brad wants to work.
Isn't that interesting about disability. i couldn't get that because I didn't pay in -. whatever. Once you hit 62 or 65 you go on regular SS.Hey I know how to get my lost posts back.
Bye for now-Mima Don't work too hard Anne.

Tammy you are not along. I gained a couple of pounds as well. Mostly eating and not moving (not even really overeating, but eating the wrong stuff) I need to get motivated to start again and keep going.

Mima - Expenses just keep piling up. That is the name of the game, it seems. Soon it will be too expensive for average people to live. Houses are ridiculous prices and they keep being driven UP. An average 1000 sq ft home is over $300,000.00

Meme - hope you are feeling better today.

Joanne - Well, the puppy gives you something to do, night and day Like you're looking for something to do!

Here is a little thing I snagged from another site.

Good morning Fibromyalgia, my name is Will, Will Power and I would like to introduce my friends Hope, Laughter, Smile and Prayer.

We are the new sheriffs in town and we came to lay down some new law. We decided today we will wake you up instead. I see you sent Ache and Fibrofog already. Prayer and smile is ready to deal with them before they get started.

Oh, I know that they ain't gonna go away right away and it looks like Ache wants to roll all day. That's okay cause Smile can hang with the best of them, and eventually Ache and his crazy friend Pain will just be a memory.

You see Fibromyalgia, what you need to understand is that you attacked the wrong kind of person: A Diva.

You saw her break down after that car wreck and you thought you would just take advantage. Little did you know, Divas bounce back, and they look good bouncing back, too. Yes I will admit, it took her awhile to give us a call, but she sounded the horn and here we are in full force, ready to kick your butt and don't take no prisoners.

Let me further explain, remember when I went to that doctor, and you were laughing so hard you were rolling on the floor? You know the one doctor that really listened to me?

Yeah, I went to a lot of them, but just remember my name ain't Will Power for nothing. Oh, did I forget to tell you that my middle name is

Determined? While you were so busy laughing you didn't hear the most valuable piece of information he gave me: You can't kill me.

When I finally let that sink in, you see, that is when my friends that I introduced you to earlier came in. That doctor had a friend named Hope also and another friend named Understanding.

Both friends named Hope and Understanding worked with that doctor and I until we found the right combinations to replace the friends you took away.

I know you have Good Sleep, but we put a remedy together that summons Mr. Sandman to appear on command. Energy is here to, but in the form of Pace, as in pace myself, and half of the time I get things done without you even kowing it.

Thank you for Exhaustion, he is a good reminder of when I need to take time for me without guiilt. Exhaustion taught me how to say "no" to loved ones.

At first Guiilt and Exhaustion used to hang out, however my buddy Prayer put Guilt out. Prayer, Laughter, and I (Will Determined Power) got rid of Low Self-esteem, Depression, and Anxiety. My Buddy Prozac stands guard at the door so they won't come back.

So, let's see where were we? Oh, yeah friends and co-workers didn't understand and grew tired of me at first, however Hope gave them some education. Prayer filtered out the real friends and co-workers that stayed with me and removed the one that didn't. So now I have a support group that love me and look out for my well being.

And my buddy Laughter, is the one that you got to watch out for. He has friends called Sarcasm, Jokes, and Harmless Pranks that keep us so busy, we don't have too much time to pay attention to you.

Look Fibromyalgia, I know you are going to be here with us, and from what I hear it will be for the rest of our lives, but guess what?

My team, Prayer, Smile, Laughter, Sarcasm, Jokes, and Harmless Pranks, are going to give you a run for your money. So bring it on Fibromyalgia, lets see it you can hang with the big dawgs.

I hope you all have a nice evening. We are staying home. I overdid the carbs (not the good ones) last night, and I sure know now that a lot of the pain comes from sugar and starch. I hope I learned my lesson - unless I am a complete dunce, I sure should have
I am learning that lesson too! I am newly diagnosed with fribro though i have suspected it for some time. I'm really trying to cut back on starch and sugar- if only i didn't like pasta so much!

Darn-lost my post and I can't get it back. Hi Susie
My gf never showed up yesterday for us to go to lunch. Said she fell asleep-second time she did that. After I told her how much time I spent getting ready and she apologized profusely, I said we needed to do something different.I need to forgive her but I don't trust her. She does have lupus and rheumo but if she's going back to bed and doesn't feel good-just tell me BEFORE I get ready.
Someone called from church and asked us to be in charge of a group of 8 people. That's what we do-have small groups in a large group of 90 in a huge church. Of course I said yes because I think we all need to share the load, So many people do so much!!!You call them if someone is sick and also bring food once in a while etc. Well, I will try it. Good thing I have a phone with no long distance charges. Just in case.
Supposed to see my bro tomorrow but he has a cold and I said I didn't want it!!! Bye for now before I have to retpe. mima

Thursday after my WW meeting I made a goal to start writing all my foods and points down again. I feel good that I've done it two days in a row!! lol

We met Bob's SIL for supper tonight. His brother passed away in l983, and Marge just moved back to the area. There were so many yummy sounding things on the menu. I went with baked white fish, baked potato, salad, and I splurged and had a slice of bread and butter. White fish is one of my favorites, and this was delicious. Tim had breaded white fish, and he said his was delicious too. I'm hoping to lose 8 pounds this month so I can hit 20 pounds off. Then I'll start the next 10 pounds.

Mima, sorry about those taxes going up. I don't even want to think about taxes, but I know the time is drawing near. Also sorry about your gf not showing up for lunch. Let us know how your group thing at church works out.

I told Bob that I'm going to have to check out some churches here in town. With Tim at school, I've been going alone, and I really don't like getting up earlier and driving 30 minutes. I like the church, but I liked it much better when I was 5-10 minutes from there. I might just have a chat with the preacher and tell him that I'm going to check out some closer churches. I think he'll be ok with it as long as I'm still going! I hope so anyway. I had always planned to become more involved with the church after retirement, but the drive isn't really making that feasable.

Anne, the price for that size house sounds awful!! Our old house is about 1900 sq. feet, and we have it reduced to $145,000. A realtor showed it again today. The one couple still wants it, but they have to sell theirs first. I liked what you found about Fibro on another site.

Welcome Susie! I like pasta too. Hope to hear more from you and get to know you better!

Good morning. The good news is that Suzanne will start paying me back the money she owes me. That will pay those taxes this year and then I will only have to put away and extra 50 a month. I can do that.
Swam yesterday-then my back doesn't hurt for while but then when I walk it does. Tammy-I swim on my back and move my legs underwater vigorously and then pull them up and back-then I go in whirlpool for a few minutes.
Digestive med gives me stomache pains -I will have to find something else. That's the one for yeast.

Went to Mike's for dinner-he used the new potato ricer I gave him for the most awesome mashed potatoes-steak and carrots and one roll. No cookies-

not trying to lose-just avoid wheat,
Going to watch Patriots at one. It's on NBC-they don't usually show them here unless they are playing a FL team.
Boy, wish you could come to church with us, Tammy. the place is alive.
Bye for now-Mima

Mima, glad Suzanne will be paying you back since that will help out with those taxes!! At water aerobics, I use a noodle and lay on my back and do the legs up and back. It always feels good. Most of the time we head to the whirlpool afterwards too.

Go Patriots!! Matt Light who plays for them is from close to here. His mom was Tim's music teacher in elementary school, and his cousin and Tim were friends when they were younger. I wish I could come to your church too! Maybe whenever we decide to head south in the winter (hopefully next year), I could come to visit! Right now we're still thinking Georgia.

Tim left this morning to go back to school. He called when he got there. His roommate was already back. They get along great, and they are planning to room together next year.

Good afternoon.

Mima - money usually has a way of coming along when you need it. I have always found that to be true for me.

Tammy - so, you are on your own again. Glad Tim made it back safe and sound, and it is great that he and his roomate get on well.

I have spent the weekend planning a trip to Denmark in May. We will leave on the 16 May and fly to Hamburg, Germany, then rent a car and drive into Denmark. My daughter, SIL and gdaughter are coming along, so all in all there will be 5 of us. We will come back on 06June. We have tons of family and friends to visit, as well as enjoy some time to ourselves. This place we rented is the start of both

We are going to spend a week at the Fjord, in this place http://www.luksusferiehuse.dk/03_luksus_feriehus.htm

Not finished planning yet, but it sure is a good start.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Anne! Your trip sounds wonderful! We were talking over break about possibly going to Switzerland and Germany sometime in the next few years. don't know if it will come about though. I'll have to check out that link.

Wow-Anne -that is so great!!!I have lots of relatives in Sweden but don't know any of them. One cousin came to visit when I was young. My grandfather came to Worcester MA and his brother went to Minnesota.!
My brother and SIl did come down yesterday-some pictures he wanted to see were on my computere-then we went to Perkins for lunch-we had to wait but it gave us a chance to visit. Sil still doesn't feel well. My b is not happy -he thinks it's too hot. It's going to cool down. tonight.
We walked again last night. Cheap med. My back always hurts but I am not going to give that up.
Wonderful service yesterday-God gave us life and we have to give back our time, talent, and treasure. I want to tutor but the place is not easy to get to.
Going to change the train tickets for Brett and Angela so they don't have to get off and on so much. Boston-Washington to Orlando. Then to Disney!! A
Angela has never traveled so this will be a great experience for her.
Brett said Keith was not sitting up by himself yet-he is 8 months and chubby. Doesn't like to lay on his stomache. I never had a chubby baby so I don't know.
Wow-those Patriots. Especially the last few minutes-2 td's!!!
Those excercises sound nice, Tammy.
Bye for now Mima

Hmmmmmm. I typed a post earlier today, and it isn't here. Wonder what I said????

Mima, we used to have a Perkins near us, but it went out of business quite a while ago. I used to love their salads that came in the bread bowls. I'm ready to go to Disney again.

Water aerobics was nice tonight. Very relaxed since there were only 2 of us there other than the instructor. People were getting ready for the Ohio State football game I guess.

I am sorry the Buckeyes lost but I bet there are a lot of people here who are happy!
We joined Blockbusters on line and watched Walk the Line last night. Now I send it back and they will send another one. I need more titles for my list. I also need black ink for my printer to print out e-coupons.
Worked on paper work all day-got most of stuff done for business. Brad didn't make much money-we are limited because of SS but this year he can. He's 65. A friend's father died back home.
We are planning a trip this summer to take the train to ND and then hook up with a tour to visit the National parks. We have a free train ride coming. Plus I bought 3 tickets for Angela and Brett and I have 3 airline tickets!!! MBNA Amtrak. No fee. We have gone to Montreal and New Orleans also. We put the equipment for the business on it.
Gotta make an appt with the Urologist-didn't go last year and he wouldn't renew my script which i don't want to take but I always wonder if some of my stomache pain is due to the urethral diverticulum. Anyhow-he is so funny-he and his nurse are like a comedy team.
Bye for now, Mima
