Wal-Mart didn't have ANY cream style corn. I didn't feel like going to another store so I bought regular and I will put it in my little food processor. It will work. I think I got everything I need. When DH eats, corn he cooks it then smashes it with a potato masher. He likes frozen.
I didn't weigh because we were right out the door. We are at Bob Evans of course.
I'm looking forward to decorating for Christmas. I have a door wreath I found in the box of DHs mothers Christmas decor. I bought a new bow for it. It will mean more being hers.

I wasn't hungry, so DH went out to McDonalds to get a burger. Instead he went to the local grocery store and got a rotisserie chicken then came home and made mashed potatoes and I cooked green peas. He makes the mashed potatoes because he's afraid I will get my fingers caught in the mixer. At least that's what I let him think. I'm not allowed to use knives, either.
When I used to have Thanksgiving here I used to tell everyone to come at 2. Step son was always late and made it by 2:30. It was still a while before we ate. Step daughter is telling people to come at 3. I usually don't eat before dinner on Thanksgiving so I hope I can hold off that long. I hope to keep my eating to a minimum.
I want to get up early tomorrow to start the pies. I hope I don't sleep in. I will tell DH to wake me up. I'm making 4.

Walmart was pretty busy. The only thing I bought for Thanksgiving day is 2 kinds of pies that are just 2 slices in each package. I decided I would make potato salad but forgot to buy potatoes. I do have some in the fridge but not sure I have enough or if they are any good, but if I do I will make the salad tomorrow. Potato salad is always best the second day. I might make my dressing tomorrow too as it is usually good the next day as well. I think I will also make some deviled eggs. We both love them and when I take them to family gatherings, they go so fast that we don't always get even one.
I ate only one meal today so far but not sure if I will eat anything else or not. I want to start eating brunch and dinner so will see how that goes. I plan to do this Thanksgiving what I missed through the years because I was doing all the cooking. The main thing I want to do is come through this holiday without gaining weight.

I feel the same way, Trish. I want to make it to Jan 1 without going over 185. A loss would be even better. My biggest problem on Thanksgiving will be stuffing. Otherwise, I will be eating turkey and vegetables. Really, I just want it go be overwith. and I'm so glad I don't have to do it. I really wish it could be just DH and I. But these are his kids and I will go along with it.
I don't know what I'm going to do about baking cookies for Christmas. I really don't have enough room in my freezer for them but my family looks forward to them. Ill have to see closer to Christmas.

I got up at 7 and the first 2 pies are almost done. I was awake at 6 but I didn't want to get up when it was still dark. This is good.
Tonight I will get as much done for tomorrow as I can, like chopping the celery and onion for the stuffing. I will go to step daughters at 6 tomorrow to help her get her turkey stuffed. I hope she has everyrhing.

Carol Sue, I think it is wonderful how you do for your stepkids to help them have a nice Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm sure your step daughter and grandson appreciate it.
I have my potatoe salad in the fridge and my dressing is in the oven. I a m just making a pie tin size of dressing/stuffing. Since I'm just making it for me, I made it like my Mama made it with half cornbread and half bread and I took your idea and used the SLMG bread. Don't know if DH will even eat a bite of it but it will last me a few days. I will cook the green beans all night the way DH likes them and I will also make a fruit salad. Today we will have shrimp scampi which we don't eat with noodles although I have to say that does sound good. I will boil a few eggs for us to eat deviled tomorrow. I wil l cook my pork roast in the morning.
Weight this morning stayed the same 180.6, FBG was 110. Not sure why it was so high, but not unusual after a one meal day. I had oatmeal for brunch today and then fast after our dinner as I want to fast until 3ish tomorrow when we have our dinner. Not sure I will make it a one meal day tomorrow but will work at making it a short eating window like 4 or 5 hrs if possible.

Step daughter wants extra dressing besides what is in the turkey. Her sister in law and brother in law won't eat it cooked in the turkey, but they aren't coming. I don't know how to do it in a casserole. because in the turkey it stays moist from the dripping from the turkey but I will try. I'm afraid it will be dried out. Ohe time I did make it with corn bread and sausage but I was the only one who ate it. I like to try different things. They dont. One time I made scalloped sweet potatoes and nobody ate it. They like them with brown sugar and marshmallows. My step son never ate stuffing. He says it is just soggy bread. Step daughter and I think its the best part of the meal!! He is a meat eater.
Your meal sounds very good. I hope you both enjoy it. I never had shrimp scampi. I love shrimp but usually eat it grilled. DH won't eat it. Are you surprised? DH made hamburgers while I took a shower. I don't want it but I want a tuna sandwich. Maybe later.
I'm glad my step daughter has decided to take over Thanksgiving because I don't want to do it anymore. She really needs to learn because I'm not always going to be here.
Please say a prayer for George and Sherri. That is step daughters brother in law who had a serious surgery and came home from the hospital today. Poor guy.

There's been a change in plans. I'm not cooking my turkey until Friday. DH decided because I will be too rushed tomorrow since I'm going over to help Step daughter. I'm trying to get in touch with her to tell her I'm not comiing til 7 but she's not answering her phone. And made and ate a tuna sandwich.

My roast is cooking and everything else is basically done. All I have to do is warm it up. I've heard from my son and daughter and we will zoom with DH daughter and her family sometime tonight.
Now I'm watching my Christmas movies until DH gets up and we eat and watch the Dallas Cowboys game.
Scale was nice as I was only up .2 lbs and FBG 105. So far so good. Today will be the trick since I'm eating off plan. Pretty sure scale and FBG will be something else tomorrow.
Have a nice day everybody.

My day went very well. I ate only one plate not second helpings for dinner and then later had a helping of a little dressing , roast and gravy for supper and took my evening pills and all within 5 hr eating window. It felt good not to feel overloaded with too much food. DH couldn't get zoom to work on his pic so we just talked to DGS and his Mother. We may try the zoom again tomorrow.

Trish, I am glad you were in control with your eating. Very good! I on the other had did not. I tried, but I ate because everyone else was eating. Step daughter was having issues with getting all the sides finished at the same time and keeping them warm. I remember that being an issue. She needed help, but told me not to come over early. The turkey is actually the easy part. I don't know how people do it who have 20-30 guests. Its too much for 1 person.
My cornbread turned out good. The top was firm and crunchy but the inside was softer and tasty.
DH and I were so full when we came home that I didn't feel like cooking my turkey today but I'm better now. We usually eat it just with mushroom soup like a hot turkey sandwich so that will be different. I will not make all the sides to go with it, probably just a light vegetable.
I didn't realize it, but my DIL is still suffering with long Covid symptoms although its been almost a year since she had it. Not only can she not smell or taste food, but most things taste horrible if she eats them. She can eat fish or plain pasta, no sauce. And she can eat sweets. No meat. No eggs. She brought fish to eat while we were eating our Thanksgiving dinner and she ate dessert. She brought a dish that had sliced apples with a,caramel dip and she could eat that. Also she developed an itchy rash and nothing relieves it. I feel very bad for her.
I don't think I will be on the scale til next week!

Well, the scale wasn't too bad. I was up 1.4 lbs this morning and FBG was 118. A FBG that high means that I absolutely cannot eat so many starchy carbs. I threw out the leftover dressing/stuffing because DH doesn't care for it and I don't need all that bread. So it isn't there to tempt me any more. Today we will finish off everything Thanksgivingy except the potato salad and thankfully it is diabetic friendly.
Carol Sue, I agree that the Thanksgiving meal is just too much for one person to do. When I did it for up to 30 people, I have to say that there was usually someone who came and helped plus some people brought something. The best Thanksgiving I remember that I did for that many people, my babysister and her DH came over and we cooked the meal together. I made the bread and DBIL set all morning rolling out and making it into rolls. That was the year I found out I was diabetic and I found out that the diet was lowfat so everything I cooked that year was my own version of lowfat foods even down to my homemade cheesecake. It was a lot of fun. DS doesn't like to cook but her DH did and he always brought his specialties etc. and she always bought and brought her favoriet desserts. It is much better when more people pitch in.
I really enjoyed when I married DH and only had 8 people to cook for and DSD actually shared in the cooking which made that fun too. I have to say that cooking for just DH and me was really nice as well.
Have a nice day.

Today I cooked my little turkey. It was done at 2:30 so we had one meal today. DH didn't want anything else with it so we ate turkey and stuffing with mushroom soup poured over. It was a small turkey and looked like a baby compared to the one Step daughter cooked. I love my stuffing so I won't throw it out. It will be my only carb for the next couple days.
When I had Thanksgiving 2 sisters in law brought side dishes. Yesterday only step son and wife came and she brought Brussels sprout casserole and a dessert. Step daughter made a huge vegetable tray and it was hardly touched. Also a cheese and pepperoni tray and a few ate that. She didn't need that. People were waiting for dinner.
When my mother made Thanksgiving dinner she only made turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes and a vegetable. She never made sweet potatoes. I never ate them til I went to my MILs . They were Bruce's canned yams with brown sugar. One time I mashed Bruce's canned yams with brown sugar and cinnamon but everyone said where's the marshmallows. After that my sister in law started bringing them. This never think to make them because I don't like them. My meal, my choice!! The only dessert I make is pumpkin pie. If anyone wants anything else they can bring it.1qqqq1qq1

Back when I was growing up we were taught that a way to a man's heart is through his stomach so it was important to learn to cook. I think that must have been a TX or deep south thing. So I learned to cook the foods that my hubbys liked. Then when I married DH#2, cooking was a big deal to the women in his family so I learned to cook. By the time I was in high school I had learned a lot in homemaking classes, but really learned a lot from great cooks in my family and his. By the time I started cooking family Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, I made every guests favorite food and desserts. I started cooking around the 1st of November and cooked all the way through New Years Day. I was thrilled when I married DH and I no longer have to cook all that food any more. Even when his kids were around we only had one or two desserts.
I did pretty good at cooking just enough food for yesterday and today. What leftovers we had wasn't enough to keep and it went down the garbage disposal. So for us this Thanksgiving is over. Tomorrow I go back OP. My goal today is not to eat another bite. I know they say your stomach doesn't shrink but I think they are wrong because I fill up to fast. I think I want to go back to following IE because I need to relearn to stop eating before I feel stuffed. I hate the way I feel right now after eating all that food and absolutely love the way it feels to eat just enough to be satisfied. IE was the only plan I ever ate that gave me that feeling. One nice thing about IE is that I can either do low carb or not and still lose weight. I won't join up with any IE group because they fuss at me when they learn that I do it for weight loss.
Now it is time for a nap.
