Hi Rennie. So glad to see you here. I have thought of you so often and wondered how you are doing. Glad you are starting this thread up again. I have moved to the thread that Carol Sue started on the on the low carb site, but I really don't do an actual low carb plan myself even though I use some low/carb even keto type products. I am actually doing pretty good at this point just counting calories. Yep, I'm still on MFP to do that. I don't think they are always 100% accurate on some of their counts, but I've tried other calorie counting sites, but find MFP is still the easiest because they have more items already on the site. I'm lazy and don't want to have to add all my foods counts to a new site.

How are you doing? What plan are you following now? Are you still working? I bet your kids are about grown since we were contact last. I don't know if you know I am now in TX.

I look forward to catching up and hearing what is working for you.

We seem to have the same goal. I want to get back down to 150 as well.

Have a great day.

So glad to see this thread! I haven't been on in a while and I have had some challenges with my blood sugar going up again. I was sad to see the thread wasn't active so i'll try to be on more often as I get myself back on track. I am struggling to get my diet back to where it works for me, I did like the Intermittent fasting and the results on my blood sugar and weight loss. I gained quite a bit back, to my highest weight ever, but i've been slowly losing while trying to walk more and get my mind right. I can't believe how stiff my hips and ankles have become. I'm pushing through it and trying to stretch but it has been a challenge. Last week was the best week i've had recently, I was able to push myself to get up and cook so that I will have the food available that I need to eat readily available. This has always been my struggle. My kids have been very supportive, even getting out to walk with me. My daughter, who is 17, just got her permit so after we walked she was able to get behind the wheel for the first time in the parking lot of the park where we walk. I might have heart attack before she is ready to drive alone but it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be! Hope to see more activity and will participate as well.

Momtopands, so glad to see you! Most people here joined a thread somewhere else but if this forum continues to work properly and more people post maybe we will come back.

Are you still working with the babies? How did things go over the pandemic? I think about you often.

My weight loss is stalled but I'm trying to improve blood sugar. I will know in December if I succeeded.

I was sad when I finally decided to return and it seems so many haven't been around but I'm glad some are still out there!
Yes, I'm still working with babies. I have been here for 22 years and can't see myself doing anything else. I hope to retire from here. I didn't think i'd been gone so long but we were less affected on my unit that most areas, though we did have some challenges that spilled over onto us. For me, unlike most people, I loved the solitude of lockdown and the very slow restarting of society. I think I needed the reset.
I have gotten off track with eating and my A1c showed it when I went to my doctor in September. It was back up to 7.6. Also I found out that my iron is low, which partially explains how tired I have been feeling. I'm hoping that getting back on my IF diet and starting to walk outside 3 times a week will get me back on track. This month is my 50th birthday and part of me is sad that I won't be where I want my health to be in any area. At least I can say that I am getting back on track and working toward my goals. I have been around the site so i'm participating in several areas. Hope to see you here and around.

Adrienne, don't think about not being where you want to be, think ahead to where you are gone by to be. We know the proper diet and exercise to do but have to have the determination to do it. FYI my health problems started around age 50!

Hi momtopands I still check in from time to time and will come back as long as 3fc is working and there are others posting here. I always loved 3fc site.

I know it is upsetting when we see where we are and where we could have been but the important thing is not giving up and keep working at it. I too love the IF woe. I try to low carb, but it is never as low as it should be so I guess I mostly do a moderate carb, low fat, between 1000 to 1400 calories. Some times I go over but I am trying to not do that so much these days. We just don't give up. So good for you getting back on track. I'm pretty much doing that right now myself so we can do it together.

Your daughter driving in the parking lot reminds me of when my son was a teenager. I would pick him up from work at night and the high school was on the way home so we would go by there so he could practice driving in the parking lot. I was so glad when he could drive himself to and from work so I didn't have to go pick him up at midnight any more.

Hi Pipsicle! Good to see you here!

Ive been using MFP for several years. There were some features that were very important to me. One was my blog. I posted my personal thoughts there from time to time. Now I received a message that they are discontinuing blogs. I'm very disappointed as there are other things that i don't like and was very close to closing my account. But the things I do like have won out and I'm staying. Amazingly I found an online blog I started a few years back. After a few posts I was unable to find it again. I thought it had been removed. It seems miraculous that I found it today after learning that the MFP blog would be gone. So I'm all set and over my disappointment. 😊 It doesn't take much to make me happy.

Hi Pipsicle, Happy to see you are still around. How are you doing.

My weight today is down to 180. Scale tried to go to 179.8 but just couldn't quite make it to stay there. FBG 97. Things are going good.

I finally evaluated my own lifestyle and what I like and don't like and worked out my own "personal" health plan. I still use MFP to track my calories, protein and carbs, but I don't always get to the 1000 calories they recommend. I learned that I don't have to finalize my entries so that reprimand in red doesn't come up. Calories today will be 861 and net carb grams 75 and protein was over 90 so it will be a good day. I'm back to eating 2 meals and a snack within 6 to up to 9 hrs depending on hunger. A protein shake for breakfast and a lettuce/meat wrap for evening snack to close out the eating day. I also do some exercise almost everyday making at least 5 days a week the goal. I actually had a good week of exercise behind me this past week.

Trish, my concern with MFP is not the reprimand for being below 1000 calories but the fact that it does not register your entry, and therefore does not enter it on Fitbit. This s why I find a way to increase it to 1000 so I get calories in against my calories burned on Fitbit. I don't really care if MFP likes it or not. You don't use Fitbit so you don't have to worry about that.

I felt that I had a good day today. My chicken for tomorrow still feels hard as a,rock even though its been in the refrigerator since last night. Tomorrow morning I will set it out on the stove so it defrosts faster.

Carol Sue, I can understand why you do that on MFP as I thought I remember it is in sync with your Fitbit.

I'm reading a book now by Dr. William Davis titled Super Gut on how to reset your microbiome in 4 weeks. I watched him being interviewed online and decided it was worh spending the $15 to get it on kindle. I started reading the book and then decided to skip over to read summary of the 4 week plan. It is going to be low carb but not keto because you allowed 15 g net carbs per meal and absolutely no wheat or grains. Also he evidently tells how to make yogurt in different ways.

Good morning everyone. I love this time change as I woke up early and ready to get up. I was also blessed with finally being under 180. Not much but weight was a solid 179.4. It has really taken me a long time to get here. Now to just keep it going. FBG was 95 and I'm hoping to keep that down as well.

Have a blessed Sunday everybody.

Yay Trish! So happy you made it to 179. I want to follow you. Scale was down a whole pound today, 185.4, and I think it was from Delay Don't Deny my eating yesterday. For some reason I love that empty feeling in my stomach. It makes me want to stay on plan because I know it will bring a loss on the scale. I probably ended up with 1000 calories at least so I didn't really starve myself. I was 85% full when I finally did eat. The only problem with doing this is I don't get my eggs. Maybe I will do this until I start to feel in control. Or maybe not every day. I will figure it out.

DH bought breakfast sandwiches from McDonalds but I didn't eat mine. Now I have a dilemma. I wanted to eat it later but now he wants to go to the casino and I want the casino burger. If i eat both and nothing else I will be at 1082 cals and 78 carbs. I think I need to stay in 4 hours. He was not going to go today but then he found out the Steelers are not playing today so now he wants to go. He wore me down and I've given up on telling him No. It just makes him miserable and that makes me miserable. I use it to make him do things I want to do.
