Trish, I heard that the carbs from beans don't count. I forget why. I will try to find out.

Here is something I found.

We went to Rodney's where I had salmon and green beans. I have not had salmon for a few months and it was very satisfying. I am at 1100 calories and 70 carbs. I'm feeling a little hungry now at 9:30 but I'm trying not to eat anything. Actually, the only thing here to eat is bread or cheese as I don't feel like cooking anything. I will use a trick I used to use during my first diet when I was 21. "If I don't eat anything now maybe the scale will be down tonorrow!" We will see if that still works!

Carol Sue, Thanks for the info on the beans. I remember in WW years ago when they based one of the plans on fiber that beans often were low pt because the fiber grams were 5 or higher which was higher fiber to be subtracted than whatever the # of fiber allowed to subtract.

I thought I was going to end up with a OMAD today but then I got sick with a lot of acid in my stomach causing nausea so I ate crackers to calm it down. So calories ended up being 1189 and carbs very high for me. I didn't even look at the carbs to subtract because it wouldn't matter since the carbs were so high. However with what I learned from the link you shared, maybe it wasn't as bad as I think. I had this same experience the other day but not bad enough to eat something like tonight and I'm belching lettuce. I think I'm going to have to stop eating so much salad for a while.

Hope your scale will be nice tomorrow and hope I don't go too much over 180 lbs tomorrow.

I would love to go to bed right now but I would wake too early to get up so will try to wait at least till midnight.

I thought I was so good not eating when I got hungry last night but the scale is up .4. It was a nice try. I hope you stay away from 180 and I'm sorry you had acid stomach. I wonder why.

Doing laundry this morning.

DH asked if I want eggs and I said no but I do want them. I will wait til later. I think I'm cooking pork loin today.

I actually lost back down to 178.8 this morning and FBG was still at 104 so no damage with having to eat the crackers yesterday. So I had a loss of .4 lbs this week and I've actually lost 2 lbs so far this month. I think the stomach issue yesterday is the salads. I also think the potty issues are getting better, but may need to cut back on the probiotics and take only one a day instead of recommended 2 a day. I wanted to take the one for women because of the bone health but may not be able to take it with the other one that has everything. So will cut back for now to see if this balances out better.

Carol Sue that .4 lbs you gained may have just been water. I remember one time I went to the restroom at the bariatrics office and weighed less when I came out and they said to me "sometimes just a potty trip makes the difference". So not really a gain.

I've decided to go back to 2MAD of brunch and dinner. Then make 2 days a week a OMAD. I plan to do that Tues and Thursdays next week because I want to eat only one meal Thanksgiving day.

I've got my foodplan tracked on MFP with 1040 calories and net carbs 83 g. And that will be with 2 meals of brunch and dinner. I'm going to cook fried chicken today. Cals may be a little higher because I don't trust the counts for homemade fried chicken on MFP. I can't believe some of the ridiculously low calorie counts people put on there for their fried chicken which couldn't possibly be that low. I saw some that the flour alone would be higher than what they had on it. Oh well, I took the highest I saw. I don't want to cheat on this. I figure if I keep my total calories a little low then I allow for error in counts.

Have a nice day everybody.

Trish I looked up fried chicken drumstick online and they were from 120 to 286 calories. There is really no way to know for sure unless you count the chicken with skin, flour and oil separarely and its still a guess. Also depends on the size of the chicken.

I finally ate the eggs. I have a very small spaghetti squash so I will cook that and eat it with parmesan cheese and butter. I rarely buy that because DH won't eat it but I love it. If used a really small one I buy it. I like it with pesto sauce but I didn't have any.

Laundry and cleaning underway. I want my house clean for Thanksgiving in case something happens and we have to have it here. So many things could happen. Stove not working, power goes out, no water, . One year right after everyone left a pipe broke under the sink and water went all over the kitchen. No stores open so DH had to go the next morning to get parts to fix it. I was so glad it didn't happen while they were there!!

Glad to hear you are still in the 170s.

Thanks Carol Sue. I could use the count for takeout fried chicken, but they leave the skin on and this is skinless/boneless breast. I got to thinking this morning about when DH and I first married we both loved for me to take chicken drumsticks with skin on for crispiness and just pan fry with no batter. I might do that again. I have actually counted the calories for each item I used to cook because I couldn't find anything that fit, but like you say, it is still guesstimation, because I don't know how much oil or flour is actually on the meat and how much of it I will get of it.

I looked up the ingredients in my probiotics and I probably should not have bought the one for women because it has Vitamin D, magnesium satearat (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) and reuteri. But I take D and can't take magnesium everyday because it causes potty issues for me and it has reuteri which I get in my homemade yogurt. So I will have to stop taking it and just take the other one dosen't have things in it that I already take. I should have payed closer attention to what I was doing. A good thing I learned while doing my research is that the one DH and I take is one of the top 10 recommended.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ended up with 1320 calories and just under 100 g fnet carbs within 5 hrs. So it was a good day.

Step daughter called me twice because she was, shopping and couldn't find a big turkey. Her employer used to give out turkeys but now the give a gift card. So she had to go to that particular store. She went to a different location and got a 17 lb turkey. Thing is, she likes to have leftovers and step son likes to take leftovers. I'm glad I have my own little turkey for leftovers. I might go to Wal-Mart the day after and get another one for Christmas.

I don't know if I need probiotics or not. I took them several years ago but didn't notice a difference so I stopped. If I would remember to use the resistant starch that would help.

I should get a lot done while DH watches football today. I hope he doesn't want to go to the casino!!

Carol Sue, I saw a lot of turkey breasts at our Walmart. I didn't even look to see what the local store had since DH doesn't like it any more. I didn't mind DH not liking turkey any more for a while because I got tired of it for a while, but now I would like to have it but won't buy it just for me. I need to look and just buy the pieces I like when Walmart had them. I love smoked but the whole ones are too expensive if you can even find them and I won't buy them however once in a while I can find smoked turkey drumsticks or wings. Haven't seen them during the holidays or I would get them. I'm glad you DSD was able to find one the size she needs.

Weight was up to 180.8 lbs this morning and FBG was still 104. It was just a combo of not enough water drank yesterday as it is difficult to drink water when it is so cold and no good potty this morning. I'm sure that will change. Just don't want to get back into the 180s again.

No brunch today because I didn't want any. Plan today is BLT for dinner and either a protein shake or a veggie soup for supper.

Hope everybody has a good day and able to stay warm.

Trish, DH and I both like turkey. I love it and any poultry. DH doesn't eat a lot of meat except for ground beef via hamburgers. I am a foodie who likes just about everything but I have my preferences. DH eats lots of potatoes. He likes noodles and macaroni but not with a red Italian sauce. He likes cheese or Alfredo sauce. I go back and forth on red meat or pork. For years I only ate poultry or seafood. I think when they said red meat was bad for you it turned me off.

I don't think DH gets enough protein but he doesn't care.

Anyway, even when we went to MILs for Thanksgiving I always cooked a turkey for us so we would have leftovers. We like it mixed with mushroom soup over toast. I love my stuffing but others is just ok. I can't wait til Thanksgiving.

I didn't get on the scale because I feel fat today!

I was surprised to see 184.8 this morning. I really overate yesterday. Lots of carbs. DH bought chocolate ice cream and I ate some. So it might be delayed and I'll get a bump up tomorrow. Or maybe I needed that off day.

I have to go to Wal-Mart today or tomorrow for last minute items. I need more canned milk for the pies and refrigerated crust. I don't make home made. I can't take a chance on it not turning out right. I also need the crescent rolls. Rusty needs dog food. If I have time I will make corn bread.

If your fried chicken is skinless, breast the calories would be low, IMO. The skin holds the fat which is highest in calories.

Well, my week or so eating way too much starchy carbs has finally caught up with me. Weight this morning was 182.6 lbs and FBG 113. This just re-inforces the idea that I actually need to eat OP if I want to keep the weight coming off as well as keep my A1c down in the 4s or 5s. So back OP today. I will probably eat off on Thanksgiving day. I'm also back on track today.

With no family plans for Thanksgiving there isn't much going on here. We will go to Walmart tomorrow and get a few things for DH and my day but I don't need much. I have pretty much what I need for that day. May think about some dessert. I have bought those small packages of pie that has only 2 slices to a package. I might look for some turkey pieces to eat during the weekend.

Have a nice day.

I'm sorry your scale is up from the carbs but it will go back down as soon as you cut back again. I'm telling myself the same thing.

We are going to the casino today because I have things to do getting ready for Thanksgiving. DH jumped at the chance!

I'm going to make Jiffy cornbread with cream corn in it. It has good reviews. I don't know who will eat it. Cornbread is not a big thing up here but step daughter and I like it. I think DGS might like it, too. I feel cheap only taking pies and rolls but she got the turkey free.

I hope I can keep from going overboard on Thanksgiving.

DH says,we are never going to that casino again. I told him I fell for that one last time.

Carol Sue, Now I wonder why we don't believe him when he says that?

I've seen pictures of Mexican cornbread but not made with cream style corn. They both sound good but DH wouldn't eat it.

I got hungry tonight but ate a few bites of ham. DH has already got our little Christmas trees out and decorated the front door. They are already decorated so we just have to turn them on. We both love the lights.
