Carol Sue, I still had some Tumeric/Curcumin but it didn't have pepper so I took it with my meal and added plenty of pepper on my food. I will do that until I have to buy the next one with the pepper if I don't have any reactions to this.

Today was a 2 meal day within 4 hrs and calories were 1015 and net carbs 46. Funny thing is that I didn't even try to do this. I ate what I was going to eat today and then tracked it tonight.

Goodnight.

Today my weight is,down to 186.2 BUT I had potty issues yesterday so I might not hold that weight.

Trish, I don't track my food ahead of time because I don't know what I'm having. I track daily after my brunch to see how many calories and carbs I have left for the day.

I can't remember how long it took for the Turmeric to start working.

My DH is getting very strange. We were watching a cooking show. They put chicken and some other ingredients in a slow cooker and said it will be done in 7 hours. He went crazy. He said he's not going to wait 7 hours to eat. He will starve. I have 2 slow cookers that I use. I explained to him that you put the food in the cooker in the morning and its done in time for dinner. He said he's going to have to eat a couple times before that. I said yes, you eat your breakfast and lunch in the meantime. But he continued to say how stupid it is. I explained to him this is why its called a slow cooker. I think we go out to eat too much. We go to a restaurant and order our meal and 5 minutes later they set it in front of us. They didn't have slow cookers when he was a kid. He came home from school and dinner was ready. His mother spent the whole day cooking it. I don't know what I'm going to do with him!!

I was hungry for salmon so I suggested we go to Texas Roadhouse but DH didn't want to go there so we went to Rodneys and we both got salmon. It was very good! We have always gone there on Fridays.

I feel very good today with lots of energy. I think I slept good last night.

Carol Sue, I am blessed with the fact that DH has no favorite foods or way his DM cooked. Bless her heart she told that when he was a little boy that she would cry because he wouldn't eat anything she cooked. I heard that when he married his first wife that she tried making French fries the way he liked them and she cried because he said they weren't any good. He has learned how to tell me foods he doesn't like but does it a little nicer than he did back then. We have kind of learned to compromise on some foods we both really like and just forget some that neither of us cannot tolerate.

My weight today was 181.6. I'm already board with 2 meals later in the day but will try to stick with it at least until after my doctor's appointment in August.

DD called us last night to wish her Daddy Happy Father's day. She had forgotten about it because youngest son was sick all weekend. In the process of our conversatin, turmeric came up because I asked her how our youngest granddaughter's back is doing. She has a problem that most people get when older, but a doctor told her about the turmeric/curcumin with black pepper and it helps with the pain. She told me that all her arthritic patients have told her that turmeric keeps their pain under control better than anything else. I talked to DS about it this morning and she said she takes it when she remembers it and it helps. She takes Qunol chewables, but when I looked it up it didn't have pepper. So we found one with black pepper with the same company but better although it is not chewable it is stonger in 3 pills so we ordered us one of those. I will get it Thursday. Until then, I will use what I have and add the pepper to my food when I take it.

I'm waiting for my new cell phone to be delivered. The company I've been with for at least 10 yrs or more, wrote last week and said my phone won't be compatible with the changes the network is making so I needed to get a new phone and they offered me a free phone. So I ordered one. I have been wanting a new one because I need more storge but wasn't ready to buy one yet. Not sure how good a free phone is going to be but it will do until I decide what I really want. That will keep me busy setting that up when I get it.

We got McDs today and I will probably just have a protein shake tonight.

Trish, when I first met DH I was on a weeks vacation from work so I told DH to come over to my place every day after work and I would cook dinner. I was not a very good cook but he ate everything I made with no complaints. I guess he didnt want to make me mad. Then when we got married and his kids moved in with us they were 12 and 14. I cooked dinner every night and he ate it. I knew some things he didnt like, for example he would eat chicken but only white meat. But he ate everything I made! Then after they got married he wanted to eat out all the time. Everything I wanted to cook he didnt want. I think when his kids were here he ate because he wanted them to eat. The only good thing about eating out is we can each order what we want, but so often I'm not hungry but I eat anyway. I don't think I will ever be able to lose weight.

I'm glad you are back down to 181.

You might be surprised about the free phone. My phone is a Tracfone I get from HSN.

My brain is totally exhausted. My contacts didn't switch over so I spent most of the evening putting them in my phone. Mine is a Tracfone service too and I never understood what it was. I've always used google, but not sure I have to. I will check into that more. I think I'm going to enjoy it when I get used to it, but still working my way around the settings. I'm not used to using my phone on wi-fi. I have a problem with that because if enternet goes down so does my cell phone.

I ended up with one meal and a banana for a snack and never got around to the protein shake. So I may have done this within 3 or 4 hrs I lost track of time. High carb day but calories under 1200.

I will definitely sleep tonight. I'll tell you one thing. DS says when she is having pain that she just take tumeric for the pain when she remembers it. When I got through with the phone my back and neck were hurting so I took 2 turmeric and it works. The pain isn't near as bad as it was.

Goodnight.

I don't understand. My weight has gone down again today, 185.4. This never happens, with me. I'm not doing bad with food but not strictly on plan. I'm not complaining, just wondering.

I'm glad you and DS are doing well with Turmeric. I was disappointed when I had to stop taking it. Its a good thing I research things so well or I would not have known.

The forum is acting weird for me today. Maybe they are trying to fix the problem many people were having.

It is nice to know they are trying to fix it. It takes so very long for me to submit posts. Yesterday when I hit our thread it went to an old thread with a woman who isn't even living any more.

Carol Sue, I think your body is adjusting to what your way of eating and ready to lose some more. Our bodies are so complicated and difficult to really understand. I really think docs and science have much more to learn about them. That is why we have to learn for ourself what works for us and as I've learned that One Size certainly does not Fit All. I remember one time when I bought a OSFA dress and took it home and put it on. Either someone mismarked it or it wasn't really a OSFA because it was too tight when I put it on. We have all learned here that just because you can eat something doesn't mean I can and vice versa.

I have been too busy to read in The Obesity Fix book for days and need to read the little book to learn how to use my new cell phone. I stopped at Chapter 7 in the book and want to finish it so I can read the revised copy of The Makers Diet I got in the mail. Will try to get that done.

Weight was 181 this morning but FBG was 110. I guess that is from eating the banana and never drinking the protein shake with it.

BBL

Weight bumped up to 187.4. We went to the casino and I have pain. I don't know if its from the casino or yesterdays exercise. I always hurt after the casino. It might be the long car ride. I finally exercised for 30 mins. Various, bike , treatmill, squats etc. ait was very hard but I pushed myself. I've been away from it too long.

I have a hard time finding the end of the thread so I don't know if I'm reading the last post.

We,went to Walmart and DH got a haircut. Not at Walmart. He wanted breakfast out but I said no. So he made pancakes. I threw away the leftovers AND the leftover batter. Yay me!! We came home and had tuna, sandwiches for lunch and he wants Texas Roadhouse for dinner. So the day is planned.

My ankles hurt. It might be from exercises I do while sitting in my chair. I hope it goes, away.

Trish, I usually get a new phone every year because HSN sells them plus a year of Tracfone service for less than the cost of a years service. I really like the phone I have now so I might just stick with it this time. I hope you figure out your new phone.

Carol Sue Good job of throwing out the leftover pancakes. A good way for DH to learn you are serious.

I hope the pain goes away. Probably is a little bit of all you mentioned that is causing the pain. I haven't exercised much this week which isn't good as I will have to push myself through it when I get back to it too. It's a shame you can't take the turmeric. It is really helping with my pain. I don't take it exactly like DS does, but then I don't have the arthritis she does either. I take 2 twice a day and I noticed that the only time my knee hurt yesterday was when I lifted my leg to get in the bed last night. So it really works for me.

I think I will like this phone when I figure it out. I talked to my oldest grandson this morning and he swears by Chrome on the cell phone and says it is free but not sure I want it. I would love to figure out how to get tracfone back on this phone because I am not fond of google but may be stuck with it. I've always used it and I do like some of the stickers & imojis that are on it for texting the kids. I think I will upgrade on my service so I get unlimited on photo storage. I don't want to do all the fancy stuff like talking to my phone or it talking to me. And I don't browse on my phone either so there are a lot of things I don't do on it and probably never will. I'm not all that trusting.

My weight jumped up to 182.2 this morning and FBG was 111. I don't think eating at night works for either weight or bs so I am back to Brunch and Dinner as of today. I bought Walmart white bread and made 1 slice of toast with it. It is cheaper $ but higher calorie than SLB. Decided to try it because Dr. Berg says if your eating bread wheat and white is about the same. From what I've read in The Obesity Fix he is probably right. I only eat 1 sl with my eggs and bacon most days so I will see for myself if it makes a difference with FBG readings. I am going to work at doing away with any evening eating at all.

I hope your pain goes away and you will be able to have a good day.

Have a gread day everybody.

Trish, DH buys the cheap Walmart bread all the time. He likes it because its soft. I only eat it if I'm sharing a sandwich with him, otherwise I use Sara Lee. I buy the Sara Lee white because it has the same carbs and fiber as the wheat. My loaf lasts a long time so must have a lot of preservatives.

My ankles still hurt. I was doing exercises sitting in my chair that physical therapy told DH to do to give better circulation in the calves. I hope I didn't do them wrong and do more harm than good. I took Tylenol Arthritis but it still hurt. I started taking the Tylenol Arthritis after I had to stop Turmeric. I think its scary that no one tells you not to take Turmeric with blood thinners. I would have not known without reading it online.

DH changed his mind about Texas Roadhouse so we went to Bob Evans. We can get smaller meals at Bob Evans and Texas Roadhouse is 20 miles away. Sometimes he doesn't like to drive that far or eat a bigger meal. Most of the time I don't care. I can find something to eat anywhere.

Carol Sue, Sorry about the pain. I agree it is sad that docs don't bother to tell us the side effects of most things if we take them with other meds or even how much is safe. I always look up the info I need taking them. When I think about the doctor that prescribed the medicine she did for bone density because I set there and let her know that I already experienced some of the things the side effects caused. Why would she prescribe it to me when she and I both knew it would make it worse for me if I took it. Sometimes I think they just want to push the medication too much. I could be wrong, but that is my opinion.

I wish DH could take the turmeric but when I read about it, it says not to take with warfarin so I'm sure that includes Eloquist as well.

I did very well eating the 2 meals of brunch and then dinner at 3ish within approximately 5 hr eating . I hope I can continue doing it. I finished the chapter 7 on exercises so I will read 8 tomorrow. I thought it was interesting that he seems to encourage a high protein with high fiber carbs. I always did so well on the WW lowfat higher fiber woe. I will see more in Chapter 8 tomorrow.

Trish, when I developed tendonitis from Cipro my doctor acted like I was crazy. He said people take it every day and tendon pain is rare. Rare does not mean impossible. There is a warning on the package insert which most people don't read. People assume that drugs are safe. People all over the internet talk about their pain. Mine lasted a couple years. I thought it would never go away. It started in my shoulders then went go my elbows. I could barely raise my arms.

I know I sound like a broken record but I have to get back to my eating window and my vegetables. Both my freezers are full of frozen vegetables. I like to put parmesan cheese on them. I buy Great Value Parmesan and Romano but they were completely out. I had to buy Kraft and it was $1 more.

HI friends: I am at the library so have internet for now. I am 158 this am. Really struggling with the eating, and most days I have been having carbs, hence the weight increase over time.
I had an ear infection earlier in the week, and had pain then dizziness. It seems better yesterday, but today I am still a bit dizzy. Blood sugars are ok, (fasting 5.7 this am) so its not from low sugars or a BP issue at least, so I assume there is still some ear issue causing the problems.

I hope you all have a good summer. I will plan to come into town at least once a week and log on and check things over.
Have a good week.
